"I'venever met him so I can't really tell you I have a problem with it. I personally have no reason to work anyway. I only work to help you out. I think it might be the same in Mao's case. Our only real reason for working not counting you is just to not raise any suspicions."

"Well... I should still get some kind of a job, because I need to not raise suspicions either, and I really won't live off of your wages. Hmmm. Some kind of guidance councillor might be a good idea for me..." Nathan mused, opening the fridge and noting what they didn't have before closing it.

Yoru just shrugged. "I guess... If that's what you want."He wasn't really sure what to say really so he just kept quiet.

"Mind you, that might mean lots of disturbed people traipsing through my life day after day, and Chessy can't be around that: too dangerous for him..." he mused, moving to the couch and sitting before looking at Yoru calmly.
"I have changed, Yoru. I went through three different types of hell and they taught me something. First, no matter how 'powerful' the people you love are, protect them and watch over them. Worry just a little, because if you don't you won't notice them slipping or that something huge could be about to snatch them away.
Second, when you care - whether it's love yet or not - keep them close and accept that you care, because if not you'll regret it. I can no more let Mao go again than I can send you off to die. My heart's been broken once, nearly twice, and I can't handle that again. The only thing that 'saved' it the second time, was I couldn't remember you existed.
Third, forgetting doesn't work. A reference, a chance meeting that one person understands and the other doesn't - these things hurt. Mao and I went to a cafe for breakfast and a guy recognised me, started flirting. Mao didn't know what had happened, because he wasn't there. I couldn't remember it at all because it was a part of those seven 'lost' years."
He took a deep breath and sagged against the couch. "I know it's a lot to take in, Yoru, but basically: I'm in love with two people. I made the mistake of giving you up once, trying to forget you because I'd spent seven years missing Mao. But within a week that wasn't working. Can you try with me? I promise to release you if you don't like it and change your mind about the relationship, I promise to help you if you want to have your own place aside from here. But I need to know what will make you happy, even if the current, shell-shocked me isn't it."

"You are the only person who has ever shown me any love and understanding. It's sounds a little cliche but I wouldn't know how to live my life without you. The reality is I have gotten so used to being with you it makes me sick now to just think of what it would be like if I never saw you again."

"Well don't be ill, please: I won't send you away. I just wanted to make sure you know you have a choice in this. Do you want to have an apartment of your own? We could try renting three different apartments in one building if we look now...?" Nathan suggested, wishing Yoru was physically there so he could hug him.

"In this case perhaps it would be best to leave the apartment life and think about moving into a big house. That way we can be there with you all the time but we'd each have our space too. It would seem much easier that way. At least to me it does. If Mao agreed to this already then he should actually agree with me on that. After all, he and I may have our differences but we do both want to make you happy and make sure you always stay that way."

"Alright, we'll start looking for a large house as soon as possible." Nathan agreed, feeling his eyes well up, because he could picture it: Mao's part of the house would be one colour, Yoru's the opposite and Tatsuhiro's... he frowned. "I hope Tatsuhiro wouldn't want zombies in the house. It would make cleaning much more awkward..." he mused, shaking his head. "Though if we could afford a garage or shed... maybe that could work?"

"I hope he wouldn't be that rude. Having zombies near is not very hygienic. I don't even like having cats or anything inside for that reason." Yoru sighed. "Well if he's a civilized person he should know better."

"I don't think he would be that rude, though he might make us cakes and mess the kitchen... but I wouldn't mind that so much. Easy enough to clean..." then he paused and looked in Yoru's direction. "Please make sure not to mention cats or any other cute, small animals in Chessy's presence: he hears a suggestion of it and we'll have one sat on our lap - probably a kitten or puppy - before we know it!"

"Good to know I guess," Yoru replied with a smile though Nathan could not see. He wanted to do his best to work with Nathan and accept his decisions. Not that he usually had any problems with Nathan's decisions anyway.
A few hours later Mao had returned. He got the soul jar Nathan had asked for as well as a few things he thought may be good to have around. When he walked in he had the jar in his hands. It was more like a very ornate and decorated urn. He handed it to Nathan with a smile. "Last one I had. You're lucky." He set the bag he was carrying down and sat on the couch. "You gonna take Yoru over to zombie boy or should I do it?"

"Thank you Mao. I am lucky indeed." He agreed, though for slightly different reasons. Nathan carefully placed the soul jar on the kitchen table and removed the lid. "Yoru could you get inside, please?"
Then he looked from one to the other. "Should I... should we mention what we were thinking to Tatsuhiro? And please don't call him zombie boy... hmm. If we get a house I'll be making a list of rules for everyone: only way it will work..." he mused, shaking his head. "As to whether I should come with you: I think I will. Then I need to come back here and get a job."

Yoru was sucked into the jar effortlessly as the object detected any spirit floating around. Once he was inside Mao sealed it and then gave it to Nathan. "He's zombie boy," Mao replied sitting back down. "Anyway I see no point in you having a job. And the whole house thing... We have no money... And you tell me if you want to go now or wait. Well anyway we have to wait since the portal won't open until midnight anyway."

"But if you call him zombie boy, won't that hurt his feelings? Or does he have a nickname for you that I'm unaware of?" Nathan asked, curious. Then he shook his head. "If we need to get a house, then we need money. If we need money, then I should get a job." He shrugged. "Simple." Nathan sat beside Mao, picking up the jar to place it on the couch on his other side. "Wouldn't it be better if you had your own room, or section of a house?"

Mao shrugged. "I guess. I just don't want you working too hard. Getting the money together for a big house takes a lot of work. It is equally as much work taking care of a house and feeding more than two or three people. If you get Tatsuhiro to move in too then I expect him to work too."
