Maximos' smirk grew to a full on smile. This fight was getting interesting. Maximos resisted, the staff would have to break bones to reform. Enki kicked, and across came Maximos' left arm, coming up from beneath Enki's leg and around. Of course in order to do this, he had to loose one of the segments of the rod he had wrapped around his arm, in effect wrapping the chain around Enki's leg. And as the staff was trying to condense, Enki's leg would be rather trapped.

Maximos then took the opportunity, to jerk backwards, basically moving to over-extended Enki's leg, forcing the man to fall into a split. Or, to release his weapon, in order to free himself.

Enki might realize the magnitude of the mistake he had made. He was at the end of a chained weapon, and he jumped into the air...with his leg caught.

That was not the wisest choice.

Maximos jerked to the right, as hard as he possibly could. To slam the poor elemental side first into the ground. Like slamming the head of a morningstar into the dirt. And in the end, thats exactly what Enki was at the end of his naginata, a morning star.

Secondly, the leg had a loop of chain around it. Enki's twist would only serve to lesson the pull as the chain tried to retract. Because he chose to go airborne, and Maximos was pulling on the opposite end of the chain, the tension stood. Meaning Enki was sent toward the ground, with nothing to cushion him, save for one leg. As arms were busy with his weapon.

Needless to say, trying to land from such a throw with one leg would likely break it.

Maximos wasnt pulling down. He was tossing the man to the side, using centrifugal force to send him into the ground. Not to mention he was pulling back on the chain to keep the tension, meaning that centrifugal force tossed Enki to the side, and then down, it would make up for the additional length that was being given instantly.

Its like spinning a rock on the end of a string. If the strength lengthens, it doesnt change the force or speed of the spin. And if you arc that spin into the ground, to slam the rock in the ground...

You get Enki's situation.

Maximos was smiling, but that didnt mean he was being nice. Enki landed, and Maximos immediately jerked to the right aiming to kick up the momentum again spin, basically turning into a top, with Enki towed around by it. Maximos able to swing increasingly faster as, as the momentum grew. And as his speed increased, so would the centrifugal force attempting to fling Enki off the end of the pole.

Enki seemed to have forgotten that he just twisted to loosen the chain a moment ago to free his leg. Maximos had three segments of the chain with him, the majority of the chain. Meaning when he spun, it wouldnt spool Enki in, because of Maximos's arm leading it, the chain would immediately go up, in order to pick Enki up and spin him around. If anything it would give Maximos a chance to grab another segment of the chain giving him four instead of three.

Tensing it again, would have the same effect as earlier really, making the grip tighter as it tried to condense around him. Maximos really wasnt going to lose balance, because he was on the ground, properly footed. Enki was the one on his side.

That glint...

The all to noticeable "shink" sound of a blade being drawn. It didnt matter what size or kind. And while he could have turned to look Maximos wasnt going to take the chance. His right foot slammed forward bringing his spinning to a halt.

Enki was prepared to have his blade taste blood and it likely would. Maximos immediately jerked the chain toward himself. So as to arrest the spinning motion and bring the water elemental directly to him. Immediately using that force of motion to his advantage as he swung a seemingly inhumanly hard punch at Enki's face as he was towed in.

His blade would likely carve a straight line right down Maximos' right arm in the process. But in exchange the force of that final piece of pole being pulled away, while Enki was forcibly held in place...by his face...should free his grasp on the naginata, once and for all. Seeing as how the man was airborne with no room to dodge.

You see, Maximos didnt have a weapon, on him, he had one in him. His arm. And the black metal that had stained its bones. Making that impact with Enki's face the equivalent of a single metal bat strike to the face.

It wasnt a power. It had no special qualities other than that, at the moment. It could have easily been a metal gauntlet on his hand, summoned when Enki summoned his naginata.

((I know. I wasnt calling an abuse of power or anything. Its ok.))

Maximos twisted the end of the spear as he had seen Enki do several times now. He released his grip on the segments, the links spinning around his arm as they snapped together then around his waist, over his shoulder, and behind his back. Each link immediately eating the chain and snapping together with the link ahead of it, putting something of a show.

Once behind his back, with both of his hands, his fingers immediately took to twirling it around, hand over hand, across his left side, around his right and back behind him, standing tall with a single hand gripping it. His left arm bent in front of him, along along with his left leg.

He paused for a moment, before setting his leg down. And resting the Naginata on his shoulder, blade back.

This is a really nice weapon. Where did you get it?

Maximos said in a most friendly tone. Completely ignoring the stream of black dripping down his arm. It was magic blood, it was just tainted with the same taint that made his bones well...Enki could describe that best.
