Grinning lightly.
"you're the one that told me to shut up and enjoy, so I did."
before returning her kiss and snuggling her lightly.
"I just want to double check, that's all. I'd rather not have Zahara testing potions on you again to see what might work and what might not, if there's another solution."

"Yes but that's me contradicting myself." Nuzzling into him lightly with another misplaced giggle. "I'm sure it would be no hard task for her to turn the barren wasteland that is my fertility back down to non-existant barren wasteland it usually is." Regarding that fact, she had merely come to terms with it and hadn't let it bother her since, after all like Malik said there were other things that could be done if they wanted another child. "But we'll do it your way first."
Of course his short attention span never had him doing anything too long before he got bored and moved on. It was like he had a form of wanderlust without the true wandering about a bit. Thusly he was in front of his parents door, and knocking on them when he thought it was safe too. "Parents, are you busy still? I think I want to go down and catch Zykariel's race." He was at least mindful enough to know not to open those doors before told to.

"Good, my way is the easier way on you."
before a glance at the door with a smirk.
"Well we're not busy at the moment, but I imagine we will be soon. if your going to the race make sure that you stay away from the alcohol. and don't think that I won't know if you even have one shot of it."

"And mind your brother and don't drive him up a wall either Dhairiss." Because she knew those boys would be crossing paths if they were in the same place." Giving a giggle and nuzzling at her husband as she lay beside him. "You know what, sometimes I think you're much more protective of him." Patting his chest lightly, "No worries, I think I'm fine for now A'mael."
"No alcohol, mind the brother, be good. Got it, I'm out!" And turning and trotting down the stairs and out the doors, grabbing his bow and quiver on the way out since he was going to be walking. Whistling all the way to Vesendar as well.

"He's the one that gives us the most trouble. his brother was never like that."
Smirking lightly at her, and taking her hand, giving it a kiss, before leaning over some and giving her a lingering, loving kiss, with a devilish grin.
"Who said I was fine for now?"

Her little brother was granted a smile and a pat on the head. "Good, I'll make you some soup to help you feel better. You can even help if you like." Red eyes traveled back to Sevilin's face before she nodded. "That's why I'm deciding I'm pretty much done. I worked harder today than I have the rest of the week because I knew I was going to be leaving early. Come on, Kit. Let's go make that soup."
She understood why he forfeit year after year. It was the same reason she stayed at home. Whether she liked it or not there was a certain amount of loyalty owed to the ones who were responsible for her existence. For Malikhai, it was a sense of honor but to Kaelin it was nothing more than obligation. She couldn't leave because she owed them; Malikhai couldn't win because he owed his father. But that didn't mean she had to like it. "I wouldn't miss it, Malikhai. If your father wasn't competing you'd have taken home the title before and you'd be the defender." Giving him a smile. "I always think of you as the champion anyway."
Lyssie cut her eyes at the teacher and a few murderous thoughts cycled through her brain. This was so wrong and she was just confused. Of course the instructions had already been explained and she'd been late, which was probably adding to the enjoyment her teacher was feeling in all of this. Thus, time to ask a stupid question and pass it off as her ditzy tendency. "So," she began slowly, twisting a curl of her hair around her little finger. "I'm supposed to like get something from my real brother while acting like you?" She congratulated herself on the pitch-increase and incredulous sound of 'you.' Yes, Lyssie was a damn good actor.

"Khai and Dhairiss have never been alike. Save for the amount of food they eat and how they try to impress you." Giggling with a shake of her head before grinning at him again as he made her produce a few more giggles at his affections. "Oh so now it's your turn, is that what you're saying?" Another giggle interrupting her, "See, I know that you enjoy every moment of this."
"Proper rune student though, good job." Giving his daughter an approving nod and smile before wandering back down the hallway to the room that served as their book keeping and records rooom. "Yell if you need me."
Letting his father go he wandered after his oldest sister, indeed clinging to her as when he didn't feel good. "No peas." He did not like peas at all...unless they were ammo and then they were fine but other than that, no.
He couldn't help a smile. "Really? Feels good to hear that. I know a lot of people are disappointed when they do that, I don't understand why they expect me to do something different each year." Shrugging lightly before pulling Jerick to a stop and getting off, leading the horse by the reins as Kaelin stayed on, weaving them around others in the racing stables over to Zykariels. To which there was no Zykariel. "I swear if he's late, I'm not letting him race at all."

Even after fourteen years, cooking was not his forte and knowing that she knew she wouldn't be calling him even if she did run into a problem. At least with the cooking. "No peas," she agreed with a laugh, then walked with him into the kitchen and pulled a chair over so he could stand and look on. Silly kid. The extra brother was dumped into a pot and then meat and some of the dried noodles were added along with carrots and a few spices. Chicken-noodle soup was an Inthara staple for sick children. Every single one of them knew how to make it. Handing her brother a spoon and gesturing to the pot. "Here you go, Kit. Just keep stirring."
"They think you'll get tired of losing one of these times or they think you're just too afraid to beat him. I wouldn't worry too much about what they think, though." She let him lead the horse while the familiar atmosphere, excitement, and smells washed over her. Another day at the races. "I think he's out in the practice ring." Gesturing to where a small crowd was gathered.
Indeed, Zykariel already had Destyny saddled and was putting her through her paces just as a warm-up. He was also showing off for his loyal fanbase, but nothing that would potentially harm himself or Destyny. Deciding both of them had had enough, he walked back over to his stall and dismounted, giving Malikhai a slap on the back and Jerick a pat. "Hey you two. Glad you could make it. Especially you, Kaelin." Taking her hand and pressing his lips to the back of it in his charming way. "I only race for the pretty girls in the stands."
He'd been bored until he saw his prey. It really was too bad Underdark trees didn't hold weight very well or he'd be using them to stalk him. Instead, he had to rely on his own boots and the instincts he'd slowly been honing inch by inch. Stepping out from behind a rock crag, he carefully crossed behind the surface looking elf stepping ahead and followed at an increasing distance. He had to decide how best to pursue this prey.

Climbing up on the chair, he took the spoon from her and started stirring as he was instructed. The smell was already making him happy inside because this stuff cured anything. In reality it was the medicine his mother or whomever slipped into their bowls not that they knew it. "Mama and dad aren't going to let me go to the race now, are they?" And that was upsetting.
"I don't worry. I'm not frustrated or afraid, I merely respect my father and I'm not going to bash him around just for a sense of glory." Looking over though and shaking his head...he always had to show off didn't he. "Suppose that means he's not late." The two of them waiting patiently until Zykariel decided to grace them with an apperance and he shooed him away from Kaelin. "Come on now, you have every other pretty girl in this place. Do you have to try and take mine too?" Shaking is head. "I do hope you've checked over your equipment and everything already."
Whistling and unafraid of the world around him. Not that he had much to fear what with his father's reign down here. There was always a guard or droag, or something or other wandering around and hiding and waiting for just in case things. And he full well knew he never left the house unguarded. Though he did give a grin as his ears twitched and he continued on.

"Probably not, Squirt. But you know what? When I get home, I'll tell you everything about it myself. Or maybe Zykariel might come and tell you himself. He likes it when you come to the race and will ask me where you are. Would you like that?"
Messing with Kaelin was part of the routine, both knew he meant nothing by it except to test Malikhai's feelings about the girl. Zykariel had felt that those two should get to it long ago but they still claimed they were nothing but friends. "Until you claim her, she's free game. Right Kae?" Giving a wink and then rolling his eyes. "Yes, boss. Destyny is in tip top shape and none of my equipment is faulty or has been tampered with. I learned my lesson long time ago."
She laughed and shoved him off, shaking her head. "You're too dangerous for the likes of me, Zykariel. I'll watch you at a distance and cheer you on then watch you sweep every other girl off her feet only to drop them back on them in the morning."
Old game, old hats at it, too. Kelligrin crept along until he felt he'd gone far enough of a following distance before her nocked an arrow and let it fly straight into the tree just above Dhairiss' head. Then he hid. And watched.

That made him pout and give a heavy sigh as he kept stirring what was in the pot. That wasn't fun at all. But he brightened as much as his slightly sick self could, "You really think he would? He hasn't visited in a while." That was exciting now wasn't it? Zykariel may not live at home, but he was still close to his siblings.
"Oh come on, she's as cloestest to a fan section I'm ever going to get. Do you have to try and steal her." Or rather that ever mattered to him. There were plenty of of girls who were trying to get the attention of the young and avaliable Malikhai D'vinn whom always swooned over him when he was in tournament or flirted from a distance when he came to see Zykariel and his best friend was a tad too much for them to handle. A grin up at Kaelin, "She's not the sweeping type." Nodding to Zykariel though, "Good because we don't need a repeat of a few years ago."
Seconds later he snatched the arrow from the tree, yanking it out and notching it to his own bow, aiming for a few seconds before he fired it right back into the direction that it had come from. He was getting good, Dhairiss would give him that, almost didn't hear him coming at all that time.

"I really think he would." Her brother had changed in regards to his family shortly after they'd come back from Andal all those years ago. Where before none of his siblings meant very much to him, at least that he showed them, he began spending time with them and even played with Kelligrin. That was when she'd begun to grow closer to him.
Taking the spoon from him, she stirred it herself and then gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Guess what, Kit? Your soup is all done." Pouring it into a steaming hot bowl, she carried it to the table and set it down along with one for herself. She'd already slipped the required number of droplets of medicine into his but she knew he didn't want to eat alone. "How come you didn't tell Mom and Dad you didn't feel good this morning?"
"You tried to steal Rawr when we were little. This is payback." Giving his best friend a grin and then stepping back over to his own horse as he continued to chuckle about all manner of private jokes in his head. "Need to claim her, that's all I'm saying." He leaned against the paddock, glancing out at the other prancing horses and riders roaming about. "No one here means me harm. It's the race in a few weeks that I'll have to be extra careful about. I've even considered letting someone else win this one."
"It's too much hassle to be carried around all the time. I'd much rather walk. Besides, he's the only I'd give my handkerchief to at the tournament and he knows it." She rolled her eyes at the claiming talk that was normal for Zykariel to go on about and more or less ignored it. "Give up a race? Why would you do something silly like that?"
Kelligrin smirked, watching as the arrow went into a tree about three feet from where he was crouched. Close but not quite. Waiting for Dhairiss to move, he darted over and grabbed the arrow, ripping it carefully out of the trunk. He picked a new position, re-aimed and fired again, this time a bit closer to Dhairiss' shoulder, but still not at him.

That just made his day and as she announced soup was done, he dropped from the chair and headed to the table, sitting in one of the many seats there but knowing which one was his. Waiting for his bowl to be sat down, he took to spooning soup into his mouth a moment later. "I wanted to go to school is all. We were learning fun stuff and I didn't want to miss it." Shrugging lightly, "Last day of school for the week, I didn't need an extra day."
"I didn't steal him. He got mixed up in my things." Shaking his head lightly before looking back up to Kaelin. Oh yes he would like to 'claim' her as his friend so put it but that was just something beyond his grasp. It wasn't for lack of trying but he didn't care to fight with her over it again and then just make up a week later back to best friends and repeat it a month later. Still grinning however as she was particularly affectionate in her own way, "And I wouldn't have anyone else's handkerchief." Nodding lightly to Zykariel. "Throw it if you want, just stay top five so we won't lose much." Leaning against Jerick and angling his eyes up to Kaelin. "Well, sometimes it's best to throw a race so people don't stop competeing againt him. If they think they can't beat him most won't try. And in a few weeks, that race gets brutal. He continues a win streak and he's a prime target."
Hm, lets recalculate. Grabbing the arrow that was fired back at him, the arrow grazing Kelligrin's cloak at the shoulder before whacking into a nearby tree that the other boy was hiding near.

"I can understand that." Lowering her voice a bit. "I used to do it, too. Lyssie and Kariel would always pretend they were sick so they could stay home. But you and I, we pretend we're all better so we can go to school." She'd always liked school and had gone as far as she could in public before dropping out to be trained by her father at home. "You didn't look very sick this morning, either. I guess you started feeling worse as the day went on, huh?" Eating her own soup before she grabbed some crackers and split them between them. Ah, sick people food.
"So you say but you didn't give him back for a whole week and that says guilty to me." He understood the business just like Malikhai did and let his friend answer Kaelin's questions while he scoped out the competition. "No real big fish in this one either. And it always gives some young rookie an ego boost to beat me. I owe them that high at least to keep them racing and find some worthy competition."
"Oh." She supposed it made sense in some strange way. She didn't dwell too much on the whole racing thing after all. She shifted in the saddle, reaching down and lightly tweaking Malikhai's bandanna back into place. The wind or something else had shifted it slightly. "Does that mean no party?"
Very nice. Kelligrin grinned like a Cheshire cat and pulled the arrow out, stepping out from the shadows with his arms raised in a sign of defeat. "Two times. Not bad, Dhairiss. Not bad at all."

He grinned happily at his older sister, pleased that he wasn't the only one who thought school was one of the greatest things. Especially math. He loved math. But a nod as she confirmed how the day had gone down, as he dipped crackers in soup and ate slightly soggy pieces. "Mama is going to keep me in bed all weekend." Which wasn't fun. "Can you wash the germs off of Rawr?"
Khai rolled his eyes over childhood things before it was back to business. "All about letting them think there's some hope, stirs up new competiton." Shrugging lightly though and looking to his friend. "Party depends on how Zykariel feels. Too bad you lost parties are just as good as great job you won...but we all know that when Zykariel loses, some girl wants to lick his wounds and that's no thing for a party activity. Zykariel?"
He grinned as his friend came out of hidding. "We're getting better. You know, I almost didn't hear you that time. But your boots squeak." Grinning in goofy manner before he motioned his friend to follow as he continued to walk. "I'm heading up the Vesendar to see your brother race. I got bored at home and the parents are now entertaining. Mom's still all you know."
