Oh, did you see my fanfic, Cherry?
It's a couple pages back.
I don't think the steroids would do anything, considering that steroids are a treatment for it.
As for the hernias, I'm not sure. I suppose it could be something like a hernia in the chest wall that lead to the separation of the lung from the wall, causing it to rupture.
But that's just speculation.

Well we're talking a large number of years so it could have helped weaken them, but as I said that was years ago. I don't think it would cause a hole now.
