Byakuran's face, eyes still closed, split further into his contented smile, his rather subdued expression taking on a more cheery light. Half way there... he could feel it somehow. He was almost half way there. Maybe even already past. He had struggled and thrashed and fought his way through the pain of this training... and he was half way there. He could feel the will inside him broil up at this marker, this sign that his efforts weren't in vain. He was able to break free of the fatigue which had been ailing him and he got not a second, but third wind, his spirits lifting as he redoubled his efforts, his enthusiasm. This was it...he'd already done it once... now he just needed to do the same again. And he would have met his goal. he would stand at the top of a new plane of endurance that he'd thought well beyond him. Yes... he could DO this!!

Yes, indeed he COULD do this. he felt like a new wave of energy had washed into him, like he was being refilled with a whole new reserve of strength. He wasn't even close to be finished, but he wasn't even close to giving up now either. This new height his spirit had soared...this new rush of energy... he was going to be able to do this. And he wasn't just saying that to encourage himself anymore. He was now certain, he was now completely certain that he could do this. It was going to happen. Now all he needed to do was bit the board and keep at it. He gave a wide smile even as he continued, from all outward appearances, to look as one in throws of facing a tremendous burden. It looked like he was carrying the world on his shoulders like Atlas of old. Then again, the elemental nations probably wouldn't know that story. His origins being what they were, he was far more familiar with such tales...

Tenko clenched his hands and released. He repeated the process a few more times before nodding to himself. He felt a lot better now that he was getting the hang of it. It was still rigid but he hoped with time and practice he'd be better at it. He focused as a small headache started to form. He cast the threads from his finger tips down onto the little puppet. He slowly raised one arm up and waved it around before he lowered it. He made the puppet start walking around in a circle a few times before sweat began to glisten on his forehead from concentration. He took a deep breath and released the chakra strings.
He looked at his head and began to wipe the sweat away with the backside of his hand. It was hard work. He hoped it would continue to go on like this. All the successes, well... a lot of successful attempts... He smiled as he focused on his chakra once more. He took a deep breath as it made its way around inside of him until it finally came to his fingers. He guided the narrow strings of chakra as the latched onto the puppet. He focused and moved the puppet with his fingers controlling the joints. It was similar to how he used this puppet before he did it with chakra but the principle was the same. He controlled the small puppet with ease.
He thought to himself. 'This is a lot easier than I originally thought it would be. Maybe I was born for this?!" He nodded as he controlled the puppet. It was a lot less ridged than it was before. He smiled as he made the puppet jump around on one foot as it waved its arms in the air. He couldn't help himself but laugh and clutch his side with his one free hand. He bent over in laughter as he continued to move the puppet in the odd dance he had seen one of his family members do. Such odd people but so was what he was doing. He let the strings of the puppet disappear as he took a deep breath. He liked this sort of thing after all.

Once upon a time, Byakuran had read when he was child. There was a Prince who died... A rather grim beginning to any fairy tale, a rather grim beginning to any tale in general, but when he really thought about it, it was rather simalar to his own tale. For once upon a time he had been what amounted to a prince. The Second son of the second house of the Otobe. One who, had he merely conformed and become one of the lot along with his cousins, would have most likely become a successful member of the clan alongside his Brother. He'd have been a prince among his peers, higher then all the other houses and the lesser branches within his own, save those of the main house, of whom Orion-sama was the only child. And yet his future, that path, with a single word risen in contrast to the clan's teachings, had killed that life forever...the prince had died... but what then was made in it's place...?

What indeed could he really call himself in the remnant of that forgotten title? He supposed that he would qualify most notably as the dark knight in terms of archetypal fiction. The fallen prince flung out into the world with a heart harboring the desire to wreak suffering upon those that had cast him out and even now still had him under their dominion... though he would not openly admit to this perhaps even to himself, completely. And yet the term "dark knight" fit his elder brother far more, especially considering his choice of clothing last he knew and his rather notable choice of weapon. Yes...but then what was left for him? The role of the sinister exiled wizard perhaps? Sent away to simmer in hatred until he at last returned with the darkness of the world and the will for vengeance in his step...? Hmm...he DID like the sound of that.

But that would put him in the archetypal role of a villain wouldn't it? Hmm... that wouldn't do. He certainly didn't care at all, as things like that were tranient affectations, "what was in a name?" he believed was the phrase. But the truth of that matter was that even if a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, if it was called "the cursed flower of death" would anyone be so eager so smell it? No the truth of the matter was that there was more significance in a name then anyone cared to realize. More power in a title then most would know merely because it controlled people perceptions, and that in turn could control most everything else. People's perception could be swayed so easily, shifted on the turn of a dime, but the world itself remained the same. Was it perhaps a testament to the power of humanity that they could so easily change their view of the world, which, even if only in their eyes, changed the world...

Still, the title itself that might suit him. Hmm... he'd have to think about that. He suddenly got a small smile on his face. In terms of the story of the arcana, he supposed that the time he finally managed to defeat his own clan, or even surpass them, would be the magician. He would have come full circle and passed on by the the trials and lessons of life to arrive where he was meant to be... but in terms of fairy tales... hm... he would have to continue to think on that one. There were, after all, a vast variety of roles to select from, and he wasn;t really in any particular hurry. He just needed to find something occupy him as he continued this tireless trial. He supposed that it was as good as anything... but where to start. He ruled out the prince and the dark knight... and even the evil wizard. So what then...?

Was he perhaps the mysterious spirit like figure which danced about the hero spouting riddles and secretly helping them on their way to their eventual happy ending...? Hm... that held some promise. He did enjoy a good rhyme and was rather good at spouting off riddles as well. He didn;t really even mind a good happy ending now and again either...in fact, though he didn't really like endings in general, happy ones were the only one's that he'd ever found acceptable in the slightest. That being said he supposed that he would have to find a hero to follow around occasionally bothered with cryptic language and vague hints and assistance. Though actually that sounded like GREAT fun. Yes... he supposed he would take that role if no other appealed to him...

"I'll go easy on it and use just my bare hands... though it may get a few dents in it from these," he said holding up his metal chakra-suppressing gauntlets, "but it shouldn't be anything beyond repair." He gave a casual smile. He placed the wood on the ground near where they standing.
"You would think, but I've only just been appointed, so our squad is getting used to each other. Though we're training different things, but we'll probably meet up soon. I'm working on my physical strength, and the grove seemed to be cluttered with a lot of this wood." He grabbed some more fallen logs and placed them in the pile with the others. "Besides, if we were always running around doing missions, I think we'd lose our sanity."
He found a pile of loose branches and gathered them, throwing them on the pile. "Yeah, Karasu is a Kaguya. They are known to be... aggressive. I wouldn't take it personally." Fubuki knew much about the other clans in the surrounding area, but Tenshi only knew of a few. Besides the Kaguya, he knew about Hoshigaki and a little about others in different villages. "Just train harder and defeat him the next time." He remembered how he always wanted to challenge Keon, but never really got the chance.

He supposed it was rather silly of him to thinking of such things, but as he had said, titles were important, names were vital. And roles were likewise so. And anyway, as he had stated, the idea of following around a hero pestering them with riddles and vague assistance really did sound like an incredibly fun time to him, that way he wouldn't even have to do most of the work. But the matter of finding said hero might have proved difficult. Where exactly did one FIND a hero these days? Kyojin-senpai had always told him to "check under a rock" for one, however he didn't actually suspect that to be anything other then a vague metaphor that only Kyojin senpai would fully understand. The old boy had been full of those.

Kiri was a fine enough place he supposed. It wasn't like it had any delusions of Heroism like Oto's latest, and soon to be "the late", Kage, or even the entire mad village of Kohnoha. But it DID have a fair few hero types running around in the wood work. After all, it was said that any man willing to stand up for what he believes to be right is in fact a hero...so technically even HE was a hero...even if he didn't really supposed that role fit him very well. Or, for that matter, at all. The very idea of going out of his way to dispense justice to the "wicked" people of the world was among the most laughable things that he'd thought today, and that included the amusing little joke he'd come up with earlier involving the Hoshigaki the seal convention...
Well...he'd thought it was funny anyway.

Though he did have to admit he was positively fascinated by people who DID actually do those sorts of things. Was it truly out of a sense of moral earnestness? Wouldn't that be a novel concept. Or perhaps it was, like in the case of the Otobe, merely a delusion to perpetuate their own morality and therefore subjugate all those who were different from themselves. That too was a [possibility and it sounded more likely to him, but then, he supposed that he would make an unfair judge on the matter given his rather lack of experience with actual heroes. He supposed that the most likely explanation was that like most things in the world being a hero was as ambiguous as being good or evil. A Cloud that no matter how one grasp at it, could never really be held.

being a hero was probably as vague and vast a thing as what it meant to be human. There was no way to confine the title to a single shape, and even if you did, it would just as easily fit into any other manner of shape as well. Like the water which flowed about Kiri, humans, and heroes and it, were not so different.
Byakuran's body gave a slight protest as the exhilaration from his third wind started to falter, but he ignored it, continuing to press on. This was going to be a long haul yet, his task only half completed. but it could only get harder from here... he had to not show weakness... not show hesitation. while it was true that he had to keep his mind occupied, he couldn't completely relax either...he had to keep stressing this rattling bout with his personal endurance...continue to push himself far passed anywhere he'd ever gone before...

this sheer amount of stress his muscles had gone through at this point was the stuff of madness. If not for his training as a ninja and the chakra his muscles natrually took in as a result he'd have no doubt that he would have collapsed at this point, or maybe even caused some serious harm. His entire frame was humming almost audibly in the air now, the strain being emitted by his sensory system deafening even him to anything that was going on in his little clearing. His eyes closed to boot, someone could have come up and waved a hand in front of his face and he probably wouldn't even be able to detect them...but that was why he'd selected this secluded area in the first place...so he wouldn't be disturbed, and now that Takahashi had left, he was confident that he wasn't going to be... but then he'd been confident in things that turned out to be rather false before. It was one of the reasons he was willing to view himself as being right or wrong with a great deal of unbiased neutrality.

The odds were most certainly against him here, he'd known that. The act of training like this so quickly and so ardently was not something to be attempted lightly. It was something that could easily go overboard and severely injure a normal person...but he was a shinobi, a genin, yes, a mere student Shinobi, but even so. And he was hell bent to be more then average...hell bent to rise above and be be a shinobi of extraordinary skill...it was the only way that he would be able throw off the role of the clan's cast away...a mere facet of their network that was completely expendable. And so he would fight. He would fight this growing urge to give up, he would continue to rage on against this self imposed burden and in the end...it would be he that came out on top... it would be HE that would succeed... yes...he was completely sure of it!!
