Tell her not to be stupid with her money. talk2hand I had to talk one of my best friends out of dropping a chunk of change on jewelry for his fiance. He took me with him to go shopping for it.
"What is her favorite color?"
"She doesn't have one."
"How about a necklace/earrings set?"
"Her ears aren't pierced."
"Would she like a really fancy necklace, or just a pendant?"
"I don't know, she doesn't really wear jewelry."
"Dylan, don't spend a lot of money on this gift."

That's a great suggestion, but he wanted to get her some jewelry so bad...It didn't help that right before we went shopping, she sent him a text message saying she was miffed at him and that colored his mood the whole day. rolleyes
I warmed him up to a nice Swarovski crystal heart pendant that was small but still sparkley. And under $100.

As for me, I bought his fiance hot chocolate, gourmet marshmallows and a mug. The best way to a girl's heart is through her stomach, right?

And under $100. Ooohh, well you can get a nice sparkley watch and some jewelers for a low price. or a nice watch pendent that looks like a locket. They're pretty nice..
Swarovski Crystal is pretty. My mom uses them for her jewelry business with sterling silver. They give off the expensive yet sophisticated look.
The hot chocolate is good for friends. I donno some girls don't like the food as a gift thing.

Linda Lee Danvers Tell her not to be stupid with her money. talk2hand Oh I tried that. The strategy that I think actually bore fruit was to constantly remind her about the tattoos she wants. If she's going to waste her money it isn't going to be on me! Of course on the other hand, she constantly tells me not to spend any money on her. "Draw me something," she says. xp

If I hadn't been so goddamn busy this last year, my friends' gifts would be a lot more artistically personalized. As it is, they'll just have to wait till their birthdays for the artsy crafty stuff this time 'round.
Except Dylan, who had the sense to ask me for "A really REALLY frikkin' big blanket." I hope 5' x 9' is big enough, as it took up the entire living room when I tied it.

Yeah with the store wide hour cut and the recent move... I no longer have a work area, for the time being...
So most of my gifts will be, "IOU, Will be a month late"

Sounds like you just described my craft room. Costume bits lying around, naked dolls, paint, paintbrushes, glue...
I wish I was a Carggite. If there was three of me, I'd get done everything I wanted to.

Ah, Christmas. Despite it costing every cent I have, I love it.
Oh, and I've been sick all week, which is not fun. I've been confined to the couch, and actually managed to make it through an entire season of 24, which is both sad and awesome.
