Husband. It did, although Marcus never would have phrased it as such, tickle his fancy. Though it did strike him as comical that Terryn was drunk within an hour of their marriage. And even more comical that he himself was not. Marcus helped Terryn securely into the coach and gestured to the driver. "It can be your turn."

"My turn?" Terryn pouted. "But that means I lost. What did I do wrong?" She took her seat and looked out the window sadly.

"Nothing. You did everything absolutely correctly. In fact, you defeated me. That is why it is your turn." Marcus stretched out some in the coach. His mission was accomplished.

"Ohhhh. I see!" Terryn's expression brightened as she sat up and thought. "Hmmm...ok, you have to...take off my shoe!" She held her foot out and smiled at him pleasantly.

Marcus raised his eyebrow. Well, there were worse things, he decided. He leaned forward obediently and tugged at Terryn's shoe. "There we go. How am I doing?"

"You are doing very well." Terryn nodded as she thought of the next command. "Alright, now take off your shoe." She nudged his foot with hers, thoroughly enjoying herself.

"Oh, I don't know that I can." Screwing up his face in mock concentration, he slowly took off his shoe. "Ha. There. Perhaps I can win this round."

Terryn giggled and shook her head. "I do not think you can." She clapped her hands together and grinned at him sinisterly. "Because now...you must put my shoe on! Heehee, your feet are too large, so you will lose."

Marcus laughed. "Very well. You win. Again." He bowed deeply. "Well done." And then, as an afterthought, added, "I think I now know how this marriage will be run."

Terryn nodded as she took her shoe back and slipped it on her foot. "Indeed. I win." She shifted onto his lap and started kissing him. "But sometimes you win as well."

"I win?" Marcus sounded amused. He drew Terryn securely into his arms, where she was in no dancer of falling, and kissed her happily. "Do tell."

"Well, when I win, I get happy." Terryn showed him how happy she was for a few minutes. "And when I get happy, it is quite obvious that you get happy as well. Therefore, you win."

"You are absolutely right. Losing to you only makes me win." He demonstrated his happiness briefly. When he looked up, his eyes were dancing. "You make me very, very happy."

"Well good, because happiness makes me happy too. So does Sir Chicken." In Terryn's mind, she was making perfect sense. "Marcus, we should make love right now. In the coach. And I think we should tell the coachman just so that he is not scared this time." She giggled loudly and climbed off his lap, stumbling over to the other side and weakly rapping on the wall.

"What?" With some difficulty, Marcus pried her from the wall, and he was struck by how strongly she smelled of wine. Oi. He had let himself forget. She was still completely drunk. He couldn't possibly take advantage of her. And tonight of all nights, too..."No, no. Terryn, I don't think we should."
