IC: Freya waited for an answer but Pietro was too busy plotting. Why these guys can't just have fun? Oh I forgot. They're rivals and don't want to lose face. Well I'll teach them a good life lesson today. Sorry Professor. Sorry Magnus. But your kids are going to learn to have fun with the best teacher ever. And the sexiest.

"Ok. Pietro. Just because you're too slow answering me, I decided that the brotherhood will be represented by one team. Next time, answer faster," said Freya out loud so everyone could hear that.

Wanda grinned faintly. Everyone knew that the best way to insult her brother was to tell him how slow he was. You are playing a dangerous game, Freya.

"And on that, it makes a total of four teams participating to this F-R-I-E-N-D-L-Y competition. Did everyone knows what F-R-I-E-N-D-L-Y means?" asked Freya. The only answer she got was weird looks. "I take that as a yes. Wanda, the hat."

Wanda sighed and threw an old fashioned hat to Freya. The blond reached inside and took a pen and a paper. She teared the paper in four pieces and wrote four names on them. That done, she put them inside the bag, mixed them and took two of them out. She smiled. "Penny's team againts...the magicians!!! So that means that Pietro's team goes againts Blair's team."

Casual blue eyes observed the ensuing beach-volleyball match from atop one of the nearby sand dunes. Long blonde hair swayed ever so slightly in the slow breeze of the beach. Kimberely Raines sat in her usual attire, though that in itself was a contradiction. She had many different attires, and to wear as many different ones as possible was her usual routine. Today, the outfit of choice was a flowing white sarong and a matching loose white midriff top, underneath, was again, a white bikini. Her intial reason for coming down to the beach was to take advantage of the glorious sunshine and get some tanning done. However, her plans changed drastically when she had seen some of her students setting up a volleyball net.

Lingering in the background, just far enough to not be too noticeable, seated with one leg folded over the other, her elbow resting on her leg, and her chin resting on the back of her hand, she watched the match with a pleasantly sedated look on her face. If one were to look longer than a glance, they'd notice two white leather pouches, one at each hip. For some time it had remained a mystery what she kept in them, but after some interesting developments at the Institute, it had become common knowledge that she kept some rather tidy handguns in them. Xavier had allowed her this one greivance after she proved incapable of defending herself from a powers-blocking assailant.

She cocked her head a little to the side, noting Penny and Jacen cuddling and exchanging intimacies. She made it her business to know the students' relationships, as it often helped to know who could be trusted to take care of someone, and as she was a tutor, guidance couselling was in her repertoir. This relationship, however, was new to her, and not one that she would have suspected. But sitting there watching them, she could feel a faint glow of bliss from them. So be it, if they are happy. She made mental note of the couple, then turned her attentions back to the game itself.

The outside observer could easily see the self-assured grins of an ill-conceived victory, and even though Kim couldn't hear what they were saying most of the time, it was obvious that more than just a few of them had aces up their sleeves that they intended to play. Fair game? Hardly. But this was not school, nor was it school hours, so whatever they did was entirely up to them. She would, however, intervene, should the competitive spirit elevate into something different.

"The....magicians?," Jacen asked, confused as all get out at how positively looney Freya was. Granted, he talked with her before, but that was only a brief conversation. This...this was totally unexpected. And he did say he welcomed spontaneity. "...That girl is one banana short of a full bunch...."

"I HEARD THAT!!!," Freya yelled at Jacen.

"Good! You wanna hear some more?!?!," Jacen yelled back. Rile her up, if you must, he told himself as Penance was formulating a plan of attack with the teammates. When he heard it was his team, he shook his head.

"Too much credit is given to me, my dear Penance," he said quietly as he sat down in the sand next to Regina.

"Are you ready for this?," Regina asked while Jacen got comfy on a small hill of sand. The way he sat though made the sutures in his leg stretch the skin a bit.

"I'm always ready for anything. That's the way I trained myself and was trained by my former benefactor. You?"

"Of course," Regina said sort of puffing herself up abit, possibly even psyching herself up.

"Good. I think that shadow manuevering you do does wonders to disorient people...of course, that may have been the loss of blood and psychic trauma I was dealing with at the time," Jacen said, his words trailing off aimlessly. "Of course, there is no need to tell you what to do...."

"Of course not."

"Indeed," Jacen said as he kept his eyes on the playing field...occasionally watching Penance. He sighed rather loudly as he lay back a bit, while smiling. For whatever reason, he felt like he was going to enjoy this game today.

"Both rounds will be played at the same time for the sake of your sanity. Or for those having one," innocently explained Freya. "That is why there is two nets. But don't worry. I can still watch all of you so no cheating. Now excuse me. I need to get ready. It will take only a second."

Don't tell me she will do that... Please.... thought Wanda with her usual angry expression.

The blond rushed to the water and dive. After a few seconds, she walked out of the water just like a sexy Bond girl.

Wanda slapped her forehead. She did.

"Phew... Now that was refreshing," she said as she took her place on the court, waving her hand a bit for air and passing the other hand through her long blond and shiny hair. She winked at the guys who stared at her. "I'll be careful to not get TOO dirty."

For some unknown reason, Wanda had the urge to kill again.

"Yea..." Penny rolled her eyes at Freya's blatant: I'm hot let me distract you with my boobs trick. She was sure it probably got somebody's attention but at the moment, drilling the ball into the dirt was all she was worried about. She threw her shoes over onto the sideline. She trusted her bare feet better.

She stood behind the end line like any good server did and bounced the ball a few times. By rules she couldn't attack, only serve.

"0 Serving 0... I think..." She couldn't remember how the call worked. She toss the ball up and served overhand and aimed somewhere between Wanda and Freya and to their left. She said under her breath, "Little ice... gen... little ice."

"Yup....Nil to Nothing," Jacen commented as he sat there, rather oblivious to Freya's little show. In all honesty, he had kept his eye on Evelyn. But now, he kept his eye on the ball as it sailed in the air. From there it sailed down towards Wanda, who immediately bumped the ball up only to be set eventually by Freya. In no short time at all, Wanda had spiked the ball down over the net, followed by a quick flit of her finger. The ball hit hard off of Gen's shoulder.

"That's one!," Freya shouted as she jumped around for a second in mock celebration.

"Actually, that's your serve. Nothing more," Jacen said, playing enforcer since he sat out.

"Who'd have thought?" Regina seemed honestly intrigued about his knowledge of this particular sport.

"Well....I did grow up a little bit in the 'private sector', as they call it," Jacen remarked as he noticed Wanda had served the ball and Penance had already bumped it back up into the air. Teagan opted to set the ball for Gen, who had a bit of vengeance in mind it seemed as she looked to spike the ball rather hard towards Wanda. Maybe vengeance was something that could be easily attained, as Gen frosted the ball over so heavily just when she hit it with her hand, that by the time it was to Wanda, she could do little more than let it bounce from her arm down to the ground.

"..........Looks like it our serve again.....," Jacen said as he watched Wanda kick the ball under the net, and the team rotated. Now it was on, it seemed, though something seemed remiss....

"They've only....two.....," Jacen said as he sat up a bit. He'd been kind of lounging on a sand hill. He was sure that even though his shirt was dry, it was most assuredly covered in sand.

"We should keep our eyes open.....," Jacen said to Regina, while they watched Gen getting ready to serve. "They must be scheming something if they're that confident they can beat all of us...."

"You know...I get the vibe that your a little paranoid," Regina remarked, off the cuff, of course. Jacen didn't say anything, just focused a bit more on the match at hand.

Regina watched as the net rose in the air to catch the ball, she sighed. "This might be more complicated than I thought... And has anyone considered that we're not the only people in this area? What if some normal person sees this..."

"Don't worry. I have a feeling someone has this covered." Jacen muttered, glancing at Freya before focusing on Eve again.

Regina watched as Porter made a disgusted motion and shrug it off at the same time.


Gen raised a brow but figuring since she had started the powers battle, it might as well be good form to let things go. It wasn't going to be an ordinary game, not like life was anyways but still.

"Do we even have a score yet?" Penny asked not particularly knowing the rules. She knew the ball needed to get to the other side. They rotated their position giving her a front spot now. She nodded to Teagan to do what she needed to do.

When the ball was served from the Magicians it was fine. Porter knocked it back with no problems. No powers on that play. However, when it went back from Wanda's side there was an unnatural curve to it. It clearly had a Wanda hex on it. Penny watched the trajectory enough that she assumed it's basic pattern.

"Mine," She said, "Now, Tea."

Teagan let out a puff of green black toxins towards the other team. It wasn't strong enough to make them six but it was strong enough to disorient like the girl said. The ball hurt. Not only was it hexed with a spin, it was hot. Penny hit it just as it crossed the net and spiked it down with such force that Wanda would have had to been fast on her hand motions to change it's course. It bounced into the sand in the middle of the noxious cloud.

"I think we get that one," She said flexing out her hand which didn't appreciate the hex on that particular ball. It would heal quickly enough so she didn't pay attention to it. She whispered in Teagan's ear as Porter had the serve, "Can you concentrate the fumes on the ball, make it go with?"

Porter served the ball and the net moved up again. He judged it high enough and it went over the net brushing against the top. Freya hit it back. When the ball came back to X2s side of the net it had no curses on it; however, the sand started to slide under Penny and Teagan's feet. She felt the sand start to pull from under her toes.

"Porter, go low," Penny said and jumped before she had no footing left. She used her weight to push her body into a back hand spring and used her ankle to bring the ball down in Porter's direction. He dove and popped it back up to Gen. SHe was their last hit. "Ice ball, Gen."

Penny landed on her feet behind the moving sand which dissipated. "Huh, knew that would come in handy one day."

OOC: Hope its okay to take such creative liberties to keep the game moving along. It would be a long game if we waited for everybody's move.
