The priest moved, going to his chair again.

"Thank you," Violet said. Then she addressed the people gathered. "Ambersky was a good friend to me and Tora. He died bravely and I'm thankful for the short time I had to know him. I pray that his rest will be peaceful, as it is well deserved."

The elves exchanged looks, surprised by how short her speech had been, but the priest stood and began the final prayer. Part way through it he pulled several feathers loose from Ambersky, raising them up and saying another prayer, then he held them out to Mitica. When Mit didn't take them, the priest took Mit's hand and closed it around the feathers, "You will never forget him, no one will ever take his place, but you must live. Take this to remember him, and go on living."
Mit shook hard as he nodded and leaned against Violet, clinging to one of her hands.
The priest placed a hand on Mit's head then pulled back to say the last of the prayer.

At the Funeral continued Mit calmed down a bit managed to sit up right. His eyes were red, but he hadn't cried yet. Finally all the praying ended, people began to leave. Mit and his family however didn't move.
The priest walked over to Violet, "Lady, The burning will begin soon. If you'd like to say I understand Mit has invited you, but if not, the wake will begin outside."

The priest nodded, "Mit... Are you ready?"
"Mitica... If you don't want to, I can..." Vidar started.
"I wasn't able to do it for my parents, The least I can do is set my best friend." Mit said in an almost angry voice. He stood and stepped up to the raised platform, "Everyone, move back a few benches. My fire doesn't always obey, and not flare."

Mit held up a fist, palm up and focused. The room grew warmer and warmer, until he flicked out his fingers. Ambersky burst into flames. The flames lashing out to grab anything it could get. It licked at Mit, but didn't burn him, until it settled to a steady burn.
