I wouldn't say a parody, I doubt I could hold a camrea that steady with what all they went through. But I would also ask myself WHY I was still fliming all the time. I mean, they gave the camrea to the guy to film a going away party so his friend could have a tape, then everything happened and he carried it around and filmed for hours.
The movie itself explained by having the guy holding the camrea say "We got to let the world know what happened here."

Funn you should mention that. You get the see the creature every now and then. It has less screen time over the entire movie then random people at the part in the beginging, but you do see it if you pay attention.
Then there's the end when the camrea guy goes back to pick up the camrea, looks up and sees the creature and is scared stiff. Then the creature looks down, tilt it's head, and attacks poor Hud.
It didn't even eat him. Just bit and threw him.
Of all the characters Hud was my favorite >.< he went though so much to help Rob get to his girlfriend, and he dies like that

In any case, the girl that Hud liked and had JUST made a connection to died way WAY worse.
Those crab/dog things with the pincer mouths i mentioned earlier? One bite and after a while you start bleeding from every opening and then you swell up and go... well... POP.
Poor, poor Hud.
