Indeed I did, Alundra... you've had the countdown on facebook for a while. Honestly... it's gonna have to be a lot better than the first one to turn me zombie. I've been working on writing my video game again... and now by comparison... I'm not very happy with many games that I've played in the past. They're all so... flat?...linear?... single faceted? All the choices are just facades at choices... there's no REAL variance. You have 1 party member or another... or you get certain items before others. A choice you make, WON'T have you following a completely different goal. Every game I can think of seems to only have 1 path through it from start to finish with only small swells in what you might do on the way from A to B. I wanna change that in a big way... I want there to be dozens of paths... and SEVERAL finish lines. Not just legs of the same path that you follow at a time of your choosing and slightly different movie at the end based on the smaller choices you've made.
I'm coming to realizations in my new inspirations that, if they ever come become reality, will revolutionize how games tell stories..... and I can't wait.
If you want me to rant more... siting examples and such please just ask... I don't feel like putting here if it's just going to be an eyesore.

@Maluc: I know right? I've been trying to think of my own too. I still like DA2 whether is linear with another game or not. I draw inspiration from many things. ^^

Good to see you around Sibyis, and don't you ever worry about me forgetting about you. You're now the one person who's been here longer than I have and I really respect that. Every time you stop by though you're either talking about gearing up for mid-terms of finals... I can't help but wonder when are you expecting to graduate?
And... I'll rant later... when I'm worked up about it.
..... I think I need to stop being so lazy.... I've got alllll these members that are in the red cuz they're never around and they never check in. Some of them are on they're third warnings. I think I might just boot them and be done with it.
Any thoughts/objections/opinions/support?

Up to you if you want to give them the boot, I'd PM them and let them know there's something to actually post about, but then maybe you already have XD but yeah, whatever you think you should do with them, I just don't think there's going to be many new recruits lining up too soon.
I definitely understand your rant though, one of my similar Ideas was for an oblivion mod, I was going to add a specific point in the major quest lines Main quest, black hand, mage's guild, fighter's guild etc. where you could choose to go against them and do any of the fallowing:
1. Join Mehrunes Dagon and conquer Tamriel 2. Betray the dark brotherhood and help the traitor Belamont defeat the night mother leaving the brotherhood destroyed. 3. Join Manimarco and take control of the mage's guild, effectively changing the ban on necromancy. 4. Stay in the Blackwood company and help them replace all the fighters guilds in Cyrodiil with Blackwood Company halls. 5. Uproot the thieves guild and effectively reduce it's operations in Cyrodiil.
The easy part would be the situations in which you switch sides, the hard part is the immense amount of work so many possible paths with such large effects would require.

The effect I'll worry about later... they're easy enough to pull out of thin air anyway. It's the potential storylines that can be created upon the spur of the moment that are being difficult. So far I have a few pages like this one that dictate the various paths through just the beginning of the game. The 'goal' that is outlined in the beginning and achieved at the bottom of this page will hopefully be the equivalent of leaving Midgar and reaching Kalm in FF7. As you can already see.... there are already several outcomes that can be attained from any of the paths through the game as well as another, that isn't written, that dictates how the game will continue if someone decides to spend a few weeks leveling so they can defeat my last boss on the first possible encounter. I just hope the game comes out as epic as I want it to be when all is said and done. ((also if you're looking at the pic... sorry my handwriting is such crap... and that the pic gets so blurry near the bottom.))

I took a look at your flowmap. It seems very complicated, though I'm sure it'll make more sense the longer I stare at it xp I love how there's a million interconnecting lines - but I guess that's really the main point of it all whee
And it's one of a few pages! I'm impressed. My brain hurts just thinking about all the planning.
