Kiah matched the sad smile on Sil’s face with one of her own, encouraging her to go on. She felt a little out of place trying to comfort the young woman, but she didn’t remove her arm as she attempted to explain Lavi’s situation. Sil was correct when she stated that “Bookman” didn’t mean much when it came to casual observation, as everyone seemed to know the term without understanding what their line of work entailed. Learning that the two weren’t there primarily as Exorcists baffled Kiah, and she spoke up at the next pause. “So they’re part of a clan that keeps records of things that normal people would never know about… and that’s the reason that they’re here? It’s not because they’re Exorcists, but because they’re keeping tabs on everything that happens in the war...?” Though it might have been a little comforting to hear that there would be something written down to show that the Order did exist at one point in the far off future, she couldn’t help but feel uncertain about the two.
She continued to listen intently to the somewhat confusing view on the Bookmen, heart steadily sinking as it was revealed why Lavi and Sil were not allowed to be together according to the clan. It all sounded extremely unfair to her, not to mention dreadfully lonely, but she was glad that Lavi was truly in love with the older woman at the very least. Kiah stared at the ground in thought for a good few minutes, trying to process everything that she was told. “That all sounds… kind of ridiculous. They’re not supposed to live their lives without anyone by their side until they die? Lavi of all people... he just doesn’t seem like the type to turn his back on his friends…,” she stated hesitantly, visibly upset from all of the information she’d gleaned. Her left leg started to bounce subconsciously as she continued on, voice rising. “And what happens if black ends up destroying the world and everyone in it anyway? Do Bookmen think that they get a free pass from the flood, or Akuma, or whatever the Earl has planned? If they’re not fighting to take down the Earl for the rest of the world, why wouldn’t they do it for their own survival?” With a long, drawn-out sigh she seemed to deflate, slumping in defeat. “Sorry… I just don’t understand their reasoning…”
Determination shown on Kiah’s face as she hopped off of Sil’s bed and held a hand out to help her up, a small frown on her face. “There might not be anything we can do if Bookman decides to leave on his own, but he sure as hell won’t find out about you two if I can help it,” she vowed. “I… suppose that Lavi’s got his heart set on being a Bookman, though… right?” The thought was dismissed almost as soon as it came into existence, but she had to ask for simplicity's sake.

Johnny didn't seem put-off in the least by her minimal replies, the smile remaining on his face even when they'd finished. "You're welcome! Okay, no pants... poofy, knee-length skirt... there we go! I'll have done for you in a few days," he announced. At his questioning look at the doll, Kyle leaned over and simply said "Her Innocence". "Would, uh... Alice like a little uniform, too?" he asked uncertainly, sure that it wouldn't be any trouble at all.
Kyle looked at the scientist like he was crazy for suggesting such a thing, but kept his mouth shut for once. He did lean in a bit to see if the doll would actually say something, still trying in vain to make sure that everything it did was all in the little girl's head. "Does Alice think she needs a uniform...?"

Samantha blinked at the smaller man before looking back to Alice. "Would you
like one anyway?" She held the doll out in her arms, looking at her, seeming to
be listening to the inanimate object for a good moment before looking back up
at him.
"She said that would be very nice, and to thank you, but she likes her ball-room
dresses, she doesn't feel like black and red would suit her too much."
Samantha curtsied yet again. "She thanks you deeply for the offer though."
Kyle on the other hand, even with his ears straining, heard not even a peep from
the doll.

Waiting in silence, Johnny rubbed the back of his head in confusion until the girl gave him the verdict. "Then you can tell her uh... You're very welcome, and if you ever change your mind, then let me know!" he nodded, satisfied with how he'd worded it. He found it hard to believe that the doll was actually conversing with the young girl, but with Innocence anything was possible. "Has Kyle been helping you out today, then?" Johnny asked, trying to keep the suspicion out of his voice. Kyle didn't really seem like escort material, if he was being honest.
Kyle scowled lightly once the girl spoke up again, watching the doll with distrustful eyes. He was determined to make sure that Alice wouldn't be prone to walking around without her master to accompany her everywhere she went. "Well, duh," he said with a roll of his eyes, lifting up Samantha's bag as if that was all the proof Johnny needed that he was helping. He listened to the two continue to talk, foot tapping a bit impatiently.

Samantha nodded as she looked Alice over. "She appreciates the extended
offer."
She blinked before nodding. "Yessir. Mister Kyle has shown me around
today. It's my first day here. We arrived just a few hours ago." She nodded,
shifting Alice in her arms. "Thank you for everything, Mister Johnny, but it
seems Mister Kyle would like to leave now."
With one last curtsey the girl turned around to look up at Kyle. "Where are
we off to now?" She asked it with a blink and a tilt of her head which caused
her bouncy pigtails to shift with the shift of gravity.

Johnny smiled in acknowledgement as the young girl spoke after consulting with Alice once more, listening as she answered his question. "You're welcome, Samantha! It was a pleasure meeting you," he said with a wave goodbye. As he turned back to the desk, a sudden thought hit him and he called out before they left, "Oh! And welcome to the Order!"
A small sigh escaped his lips as she called him "Mister Kyle", crossing his fingers in the hopes that she'd graduate to just "Kyle" in the future. He raised his hand slightly as Johnny waved them off, looking back at the girl as he thought. "Um... Let's see... I think the only other places- besides more science labs, rooms, that kind of stuff- were the library and the ballroom... so how about we just see which one we can find first?" he suggested, leading the way out of the room and holding the door open for her, "I haven't been in the library in awhile, so it'll be like a scavenger hunt!"
