Which more or less meant that he still had no leads and pages to read through. "Well then everyone can simply continue to rot in breaker rooms for all I care." After all, just because it was near a scrap pile didn't mean they were necromancers doing it. "Did Malik say they're allowed to continue such part consuming work when he's not here?" Snapping the book shut though he jumped up at familiar screaming. Clamping a hand around the girls wrist again he dragged her upstairs with him as he went to his wife, coming into the room and letting go of the girl, and taking his wife by the shoulders. "Zahara, calm down. You're fine."

She stared up at him, closing her mouth abruptly as the scream ended suddenly. Yes, she was fine but he wasn't. He wasn't. A fist pounded at her stomach and she took a deep breath. "He's not. He's gone. Gone. Gone." Shaking her head and glaring at the girl. What precisely was she doing here? What was going on?

"It hardly matters my reasons for doing anything. None of it is your concern." No really, why was this girl doing this? What in the hell was going on? He was beyond confused and his whole body ached in places he didn't even know could ache. "Wh-what?" Swallowing as his throat tightened up and his tongue grew thick and cumbersome in his mouth. Was she serious?

The girl just watched. she knew better then to interfere.

She gave a slight grin.

"Yes I'm serious. but not in the manner you think. you haven't figured it out yet, have you? too sore and tired I suppose?"

A slight chuckle at him, before running a hand through her hair, just to make it change color to her natural color just to make a point.

And she just found out and was not happy about it. Tossing the book over to the girl so she could catch it and hold onto it, he sat on the edge of the bed and pulled Zahara into her lap, holding her close. "I know. Shh, it's alright. Something that couldn't be helped."

She turned her head into his chest, using him to block out the rest of the world while she marinated in her own private pain. He understood, he was there for her and that's what really mattered. "It could have. I shouldn't have let it happen...." Shaking her head and trying to keep her emotions under control so she didn't jolt her sons into a crying fit. "He was your third son..."

Cringing at the sudden upset of bonds, he grit his teeth and glared. "Quickly growing tired of these games." His voice was taking on that steel that it rarely got and he'd really only heard from his father a time or two before. But he was frustrated and tired of this girl. What was that?! Had her hair just gone...? No, it wasn't possible. Was he being duped? "Who the hell are you and why are you here?" He didn't trust any Norrathian. At all.

Sevilin just threaded his fingers through her hair and held her, trying to be as comforting as he could possibly muster right now...which wasn't much but he had to for his wife. "Nothing you can do about it now." And that was the truth, harsh as reality may be. However, his mind wasn't watching his words like it usually was either. "That's alright, I have another one. Don't blame yourself either...it was either you or the baby."

"You know who I am and why I'm here."

looking at him and getting up off the bed.

"I'm here for you to finish what you started. to help me learn this new method of magical harnessing, like you promised. I wish I could turn back time to make this problem that occurred with that assassin go away, but I don't have that power."

crossing her arms lightly.

"I'm risking a great deal being here as you are well aware. I'm asking you to keep your word, is all."

Somewhere, deep inside of her soul, she knew what he was saying was the truth. Of course that didn't stop the tears from brimming in her eyes and a wrenching feeling tightening her chest. He wasn't as distraught at she was but maybe he'd had more time to get used to the idea. Or maybe he was just compartmentalizing like he had before. Studying him, she shook her head and rested her forehead against his. "Why?"

Recognition dawned and Zykariel nearly choked. What was she doing here and in the disguise of a damn servant? The gall of it all. He could feel resentment pooling and hardening into a ball in his stomach. "Yeah? That was before my mother nearly died. That was before you forgot how to control those of your party. We had a deal. You reneged."

"You wound me. if I'd betrayed or reneged as you put it, you wouldn't have lived this long. I can no more completely control another elf anymore then your father can control you."

walking over to him.

"I'm not saying that what he did was not deplorable even by the standards of the mask, and I'm sure your father will give him an appropriate punishment. He disregarded our orders and that is what got us in this situation. But I'm trying to salvage it."

"I agreed to your plan to keep my family out of harm's way. I was to give you information and such and you were going to leave my family alone. Did you not get the agreement of each of your companions before you made that deal with me?" he responded tightly, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. She had no concept of what he'd nearly given up to help her out, telling himself all the while that his family was worth it. In the end, though, it hadn't meant a damn thing. A weariness settled over him and his shoulders slumped. "What more do you want?"

"I want to learn, Zykariel. I want to do what you can do. And I didn't have to get thier agreement. I was the one in charge, they are supposed to follow what I choose to do."

obvious irritation in her voice there.

"You hold the key, Zykariel, to a new life for me. I coudl gain a high seat in the Spurned with what you offer."

Why? Why what? What did she want him to say? What was done was done and there was nothing that was going to fix it. Though he settled on deciphering her question as his mind would like to hear it. "Because we can always have another baby, but I can't replace you."

That wasn't what she was asking but the question she was asking had no answer. There was no reason behind a senseless death, no answer for the searing loss that enveloped her. There was nothing to say, nothing to give. A part of her balked at the knowledge that she hadn't been willing to give up her life for her child's but that part was silenced all too soon by another voice. She had been willing; Sevilin hadn't let her. "I don't want another one. Where's Kelligrin?"

"How much is that worth to you? It was worth the safety of my family to me." He didn't know if he could continue to teach her and she had no concept of what he'd gone through for all that he'd done. His father had not been pleased that he'd gone behind everyone's back and shared information. He'd been less than pleased to find out that lessons were ongoing. "You want to learn to focus your energy within. Can't you learn it on your own plane?"

Well that was to the point wasn't it? Better start drugging him now again. Not that it was all important at the moment...just how she was going to handle this and the last thing everyone needed was for her to lose it right now and revert back to old habits that were better left alone. "He's with Keely, safe and sound."

She narrowed her eyes a bit.

"How much or what do you want? and no, I can't learn it there. practice it perhaps but not learn it because there's no one there to teach it."
