People in teh BT seem to be pretty content to go without them. Skimming about yestaday and today I've seen about twelve-ish RP threads with "Bio: Optional" in the character profile section >.<
That just goes against everything I stand for. eek

Yes, I suppose that can raise questions, people without character bios. Bio: Optional shouldn't be allowed, I agree, 'cause people will be all like: "What are you supposed to be?!" Like curious children who come across someone with a weird mask on during Halloween or something. stare rawr.

Yarr.
I understand wanting to be all mysterious and blah blah blah but you gotta still let the storyteller/mod/DM/WHATEVA know about your character and their pasts, stuff like that...I've had a ton of games that my DM threw elements into the midgame that tied into a character's background and past.
Plus, it's just FUN to make up whole new people. >.< Not just cardboard cutouts. It's like, making the D&D movie characters. crying
Edit: THe only really legit reason I can see for omitting background information is working with the DM to keep a mutual surprise for the other players, or to prevent metagaming. But even still, man. Anything else is just lazy (and the metagame prevention is pretty weak too...any good DM will pitch out Metagamers quick-smart). Though of course, that's just my opinion.

I know.. I see some of the absolute lack of attention that some people put into roleplays and I just cringe. It's horrible
Though I will say that I tend to go to the oppositve extreme. with ALOT of work

Yes...people with good Bio's are the ones who have my respect. Others who are not so creative or who are obviously too lazy to make one of their own... domokun Are mah breakfast. mrgreen

You work your butt off for these RP's and it shows, dude.
And I know that anyone that has been in one of yours has loved it...I don't even have to have seen the other ones to know that (though that's partially because I just know you so well 4laugh )
If only everyone would approach things the way you do...
It can't be comforting for the people that made Gaia and, thusly, Barton Town, to know that their main forum is like, openly ridiculed >.<
I feel some regret as I wander about the ripped and torn bodies of good RP ideas...and some of them really are good, and I know that ALL of them can't possibly suck...
Just...killed by the players.
Even your RP's, babes, couldn't stand up long with crappy players. (though I guess that's why you, I, and Pansa filter so harshly... blaugh )
