And since me being rational is obviously not helping, I will shut up. And choose to say instead: I hope everything goes smoothly.

I don't think there is really anything to cure worry, but at least I've calmed down enough to go to bed now. Thanks CBK.

If that's the case, I'll be turning in too. I'm exhausted, but I'd be a lousy friend to leave you in a lurch. Anyway, I'm glad you've calmed down a bit. Good night.

Okay so here is the info that I've learned over the night. Mind you this is second hand info because I went to sleep.
1. I may have been wrong and my brother heart was beating too fast. Not blood pressure.
2. His lung was fill too full of oxygen and it may have been his left.
3. They caught it right in time because I was told another 10-15 mins and he could have gone into cardiac arrest, which is scary because then you only have a 10% of getting out of that perfectly fine and he would been second person really close to me to have died from it.
4. It looks like he'll come home today if all goes well.

I don't know it's kind of going back and forth between the idea of him being okay and not.
It doesn't help that the party today was cancelled and my mom told the other family to take the tickets for the b-ball game tonight since we wont be using them. So the mother of the family comes over and ask me how it's going and she knew as much as me. She asked if something like that has happened before, which it hadn't, then she's like 'well that's rare'.
That does not help me feel better. xd

Accelerated heart rate is a sign of a pneumothorax. So that makes more sense than high blood pressure. If his lung was too full then it may have ruptured, which isn't good. But if it did, that would explain how it would get separated from the chest wall. However, if this is the case, then it was likely a tension pneumothorax {even if it wasn't, if he meets certain conditions, it can still be said thing} which is serious business. Tension pneumothoraces are generally diagnosed when respiration and/or blood circulation have been significantly impaired. Heart functions generally deteriorate with tension pneumothorax, but it's good they caught it this quickly. Rare? I wouldn't be so sure. Tall males are at much higher risk for them, though it's bad luck that it's spiralled downward into a tension pneumothorax.
Personally, I'd say that since they caught it quickly and he's still in the hospital, I wouldn't be too worried.

Well I think it is probably rare for the age and the fact that he had never had one before. The inserted the tube right into his chest to release most of the pressure, but holds what is needed. He can't really move around because of the tube so close to his heart. The heart monitors go crazy if he even moves his gown. It looks like he's staying another night and he has an x-ray in the morning.

An x-ray should help get to the source of things.
