Serrated > Everybody has their own beliefs and opinions. I totally respect that and would never chastize somebody for it. We have a nice array in my family.
From my understanding and readings (but who knows if those are ever accurate since those who wrote these books are dead), the early Christians used the representation of Nero to keep attention off their scripture. Blatant out right attacks on Nero would make their cause even worse... especially because Nero was bloody insane.
But of course, I guess if I let this discussion go on the OOC thread turns into a philosophical debate. We could always make a thread in the OOC Discussion forum. I don't mind. At lest there one can choose not to read the thread if they don't want to.

Serrated Okay, here's the deal. I couldn't sleep last night, so I chatted with ~BleedingxAngel~ until god knows when. After that I tossed and turned for a few hours. My GF called me at 4:30 and we apologized to one another. She wants to get together and talk this afternoon. Anyway, blah blah, I'm back. LJ: Dat's a theory, like all the others that exist about Revelation. It seems a bit more plausible than some, but that's all I can see about it. My thought is this: Seven (7) is used in reference to God and holiness throughout the Bible, and often in Revelation. I originally took 666 to mean 1. a represention of the repeated failure of man to live up to God's expectations (which has been happening throughout history) 2. setting up of man by man as the new higher power to replace the Trinity (i.e.: Secular Humanism, atheism, etc.) I realize my beliefs are at odds with a good number of people here. I appreciate that you'll let me explain what I believe without condemnation or harassment. I in turn will gladly engage in friendly discussion about whatever beliefs another might have, whether through PMs or in a thread. Yeah, those multiple crusades were probably one bloodly mistake to many (pun quite intended thank you), and I'm quite sure he's not to pleased with any of the other wars. I would think we would not be in too good a position on the ladder to heaven as a whole spieces. I mean face it, we're just not that nice to each other. I just think all those paranoid women who think that they were going to birth the anti-christ on 06/06/06 need a good dose of reality. I mean come on, I really doubt the devil is down in hell, looking at our arcaic, roman based time and date system. Or that he sees '6/6/6' and says, "hey....not a bad idea!" Seriously, that's completely insane. Besides, the devil's seed is already alive and well. I mean Paris Hiltons like what? 20-ish?

It's all a matter of what you believe. I think its nuts to worship cows, but folks do it so I can't really knock it. That's their religion.
But anyway, like I said, somebody create a thread in the OOC discussion forum if this conversation is to continue. Iw ant to try to keep this the semi neutral zone.
