"Huh... I've never heard of it before," Lin murmured thoughtfully, "Andarien seems to like it well enough."
Though to be fair Andarien was also very hungry and wasn't old enough to be picky. Not that he would ever get the chance, that was the nice thing about traveling, the children saw the adults were eating all sorts of foods and then would do so as well.
Even if they had their own preference, like the way Miyuki was eating her bacon and eggs first before her fruit.

Earendil chuckled as Andarien took the next bite more eagerly than the first.
"To be fair, he's never really had variety before," he pointed out. "But from what I understand, it's one of the best things he could have, even if we weren't traveling."
He took bites of his own food between feeding Andarien bites of the mead-soaked bread.

Now that Andarien was busy eating, it allowed Lin to eat her own breakfast while watching father and son interact with each other.
"That's good to know," Lin murmured, "Otherwise I'd be at a lose at what to feed him. His stages aren't that far apart in physical age compared to Miyuki..."
And Miyuki had grown up on baby formula and puree foods because during her younger years Lin had taken at least two trips to Gaia.

"Well, we'll manage, however it goes," Earendil assured her. "We seem to have a knack for getting through whatever situation comes our way."
He grinned at her. Even when he'd been thrown in prison, and she'd come after him, they'd gotten through it. Through their ship being redirected by persons unknown - commandeered, really - through Lin fledging, through the problems with his father, the threat of the morgawr ... they'd been through a lot, and gotten through all of it none the worse for wear.

Lin grinned back at that, it was true they had been through a lot, which was the cause of a lot of jokes about attracting epic things.
"Do you think we can add this incident to the list of epic things that has happened to us?"

"Which part?" Earendil laughed. "Finding a blind woman in the middle of a swamp, who it turns out was left here for dead by the very slavers that it was your father's project to wipe out? Or that I was attacked by her falcon and then healed by her? Or that Andarien grew in the middle of all that?"
Well, when he put it that way, what part of it wasn't epic?

There was a giggle at that spiel because Lin knew all of that was true.
"All of it, it's a whole arc in itself," Lin replied, "All of it is too amazing and the coincidences are uncanny."
They always seemed at times which was part of way it turned epic.

"No complaints from me," Earendil grinned. "With all the time I spent doing nothing, waiting for you to be old enough to travel, I think I'm about ready for a life of epicness."
Soon enough breakfast was over, and Earendil stretched again. "Well, I guess it's time to find out what we're going to be doing today," he commented.

"Well, if no one needs our help in anything, we also have time to do a bit of training with Miyuki," Lin added.
Even though traveling could be quite distracting at times, Lin was not about to forget the one skill she insisted her daughter learn and that was the ability to fight.
Miyuki was of course not fond of this and was already trying to slip away.

Earendil saw Miyuki out of the corner of his eye, and he turned to look at her. "Miyuki," he called to her, arching one eyebrow.
"Ki!" Andarien beamed, clapping his hands at his sister and giggling.
Earendil looked over at Lin. "Why don't you find out what the plans are, and I'll work with Miyuki before she disappears on us?" he asked her. "That way we at least get something in before we're traveling again."

Well it had been worth a try she thought as she obediently padded back to her parents and sat down beside her ada. It wasn't that she didn't understand that need for it, it was just she still didn't like it.
Lin grinned and shook her head, "I'll take Andarien with me so you can focus on Miyuki."
She reached out and picked up the little boy. This way Earendil could get some training in.

"All right," Earendil agreed, leaning over to give Lin a kiss before she left. "Let me know what's going on once you find out, all right?"
Andarien latched onto Lin's clothes and looked around, his eyes wide as he took everything in. There was so much more to see now that he was bigger (at least it seemed that way) and it was all so fascinating!

"Of course," Lin smiled as she kissed Earendil back before walking off to find out what needed to be done for the day.
Miyuki though, stayed with her ada knowing that she would not be able to make her escape again. She looked up at him expectantly and asked, "What are we doing today?"
Even though she knew the answer to that question, it was always good to ask anyways. Who knew? Maybe the answer would different.

Earendil smiled at Miyuki and got to his feet, holding one hand out to her. "The same as usual," he told her. "Remember, until you choose a weapon of your own, it's going to be bladework."
He motioned towards the tent, where their things were. They would have to get her blade before she could practice with it.
Halmir was helping Arthael to clean up breakfast, while River was teaching Amalirahc how to shoot a bow on the far side of the camp, far away from anyone else. Daeron had gone off to do a bit of training of his own. Elros was sitting with Shiloh, while Alena was talking with Shiro about something, with Kaito nearby. Aethos, Luk and Emile were all talking with Alassëa, who was participating in the conversation far more actively than she had the day before.

Getting up, Miyuki wandered over to their tent and went for her blade so she could practice. She knew for a fact her ada wasn't going to forget something like that any time soon. There was no way around it, and she hadn't figured out what sort of weapon she wanted for the future.
After a few moments she came back out with her practice blade in hand.
Lin decided to ask Halmir and Arthael since they probably knew best what needed to be done while they were waiting to go.
