Earendil chuckled. "Yes. But even if it's a ball I would make sure the person knew about it before throwing it. Not that I've ever thrown a ball for someone."
He had never played games as most people knew them, or games, or ...

Lin didn't bother to ask if he had ever heard of dodgeball, she had a feeling he didn't know of it.
"What did you play when I wasn't around to bug you?"
She had to ask, because she had grown up with imagines of him playing tag with her, with him playing with her.

Earendil blinked down at Lin. "Play?" he repeated incredulously. "Um ..."
He hadn't really played much, not without Lin. It had been mostly lessons and training ...

Lin nodded at him, "Yes play."
She had expected some sort of game that was found only here, but it sounded like Earendil didn't know much about playing. Which might explain why snow forts sounded foreign. True, snow was new to him, but surely he must have created hideaways when he was a child.
"Didn't you play without me?"

Earendil flushed and looked away uncomfortably. "Not ... well, no," he said softly. "I mean ... face it, Lin, growing up in a palace as a member of the royal family doesn't allow you a lot of free time. Especially when at the time, you're one of the few."
Sure, he had fun, but he never really played. Not like Miyuki was playing.

She grimace realizing she had made him uncomfortable, she hadn't meant to. It was just Lin knew she kept a busy timetable too, but she always found time to play, to hang out, to have fun.
Lin put a hand on Earnedil's arm, "Sorry, I didn't realize you put time aside every time I come over."

Earendil turned back to Lin and smiled. "It's all right," he murmured softly. "You know it was because I wanted to."
He smiled warmly. "Besides, it was a highlight for me. It was fun, real fun."

"I'm glad," Lin smiled thoughtfully, "It's good to take a pause and just have fun."
It was just a pity Earendil didn't have more fun. Sure he had a very good upbringing, but to her not knowing how to play was being deprived a bit.

Earendil smiled back at her, then leaned back against the couch again and just relaxed for a while.
It was Fletcher who made lunch for them, and it was a very simple bread and cheese affair, which passed very nicely. Once lunch was cleaned up however, Fletcher asked them if they wanted to go outside and play for a bit while Amara kept working on the doll.
Earendil looked down at Lin. "What do you think?" he grinned.

"That sounds like fun," Lin murmured picking up Miyuki out of habit, "I think Miyuki would like to try and play again."
Since there was little chance of yesterday's events repeating itself.
"What do you think? Would you like to play in the snow?"
"No?" Miyuki blinked at her mother.

"Snow," Earendil chuckled, correcting Miyuki. "Snow. And it looks like a yes." He grinned at Fletcher. "Lead the way."
Fletcher chuckled. "Dress warm."
Earendil grinned. "I'll go get more clothes on."

Lin smiled as she carried Miyuki away back to the room she had been using to make sure she was better dressed. Though really the most Lin could do make sure Miyuki had an extra layer of clothes and a cloak on. There wasn't much she could do about the tail, but trusted the fur would keep her warm.

Earendil simply made sure that he had his cloak and his warmest tunic on before returning to the front door. There, he waited for Lin and Miyuki to return.

The return wasn't quiet that was for certain. Miyuki was running back to the front door, without a cloak, but that was because Lin was chasing after her while holding Miyuki's cloak.
"Ahhhhh!" Miyuki obviously thought this was fun.

"Oh dear," Earendil chuckled. He knelt close to the floor and held his hands out. "Come here, Miyuki!" he grinned. "Come to Earendil!"
Maybe she would, maybe she wouldn't. It was worth a try.
