Sir Valdemar was glad to see Lin's hand waving about, and to hear her voice calling out to him, because otherwise he wasn't sure if he would have known where to turn or who to talk to. He made his way over to her (very carefully) and sat down next to her.
"Welcome back, Lin," he said warmly, raising his voice a little in order to be heard over all the noise. "I take it you had a good trip?"

"It was great! There were a few moments where it was touch and go, but overall it was an amazing trip," Lin grinned up at him.
She knew it was very chaotic all around them, which was kind of strange considering it all, but at the same time what would one except after not seeing each other for six years, if at all in some cases.
"And you'd be amazed at the people we found, well... judging by your first look coming in, you might have already been?"

Sir Valdemar laughed. "It's that obvious, I see. Yes, I saw, and I am indeed amazed. Who are they? Where are they from?"
His eyes were eager, as they always were when he was going to be learning something new.

Lin giggled at that, she couldn't blame him for being excited. She was excited about the whole thing herself.
"The black skinned elves are Haldia and Kelirahc from the island of Nauros and they're Night Elves. Also Kelirahc is married to Leyenda, Arwen's daughter. The man with the fiery hair is Captain Aurin Striate a Sky Elf from the island of Amon Darthir, which is under the rule of King Aerennel."
She grinned up at Sir Valdemar.
"And you know.. he has hair like one particular elf we once talked about."

Sir Valdemar blinked at Lin. "The woman from the ranch ... then the rumours about her are not true? Her hair did not become the colour of fire because of her gift?"
In a way he was disappointed, because it had been a fascinating story. On the other hand, if it was a racial thing, then it was also fascinating, because it meant that she was not originally from this continent.
He blinked again. "Wait, then she is from Amon Darthir as well?" he asked, amazed.

"Well... it was actually kind of right," Lin replied, "But not because of a dragon, though ironically that is how she ended up in the Four Lands. The Sky Elves of Amon Darthir were originally Westland elves. They left when gifts were still granted by a Gift Giver, there had been only one in the Westland so they left without one. The only gift they kept was the ability to use fire, which in turn apparently affected their appearance."
Lin chewed on her lower lip before deciding to tell him. Besides he was a historian and the history of all elves would be of interest to him.
"She is the king's youngest child, and had been gravely injuried when a dragon attacked her home. So the story about her is somewhat corrrect, as for how or why she ended up in the Four Lands only Catathier knows that because he was the one who have taken her away from the island. What happened between those years only they know."

Sir Valdemar listened intently to the story, nodding now and again, and looking very thoughtful. It told him a lot, actually, perhaps even more than Lin realized, since he also knew much of the history of the Westland, having lived through much of it himself.
When he learned that she was the daughter of the king, he shook his head slowly. "I do not know how it happens," he murmured, "but Lin, you always have the strangest news about the people of Haven. Lord Aragost, and now Princess Aerin ... Elros ..."

"Haven is epic..." Lin muttered though it was more a general comment than anything directed at Sir Valdemar.
Even without Aragost, Aerin and Elros there was still the other residents of Haven and they were all interesting as well.
"Oh, speaking of Elros. The royal historian there knows of him, her name is Alena, in fact..." she tapped her chin and looked over to see if Earendil was free yet probably not, "There's a letter for you from her but Earendil has that."

And if Sir Valdemar had been surprised earlier, now he was completely shocked.
"Alena?" he repeated, his face turning pale. "Alena of the Light Elves? Of the second generation of elves? Her?"
It was clear that he knew her, but could he dare hope that it was the same woman?

Lin blinked at Sir Valdemar, despite the fact this hasn't been first time she had delivered jaw dropping news she was never use to it. She nodded slowly at his question.
"So... you know her?"
Kind of a stupid question.

"I thought she had died, or sailed on, or ... or something," he murmured, his eyes misting over. "When we separated ... when the Dark Elves left the Light Elves ... that was the last that I saw or heard of her. Since that time, nothing ..."
He passed his hands over his eyes, then looked back at Lin. "And she has a message for me, you say?" he asked her, hardly daring to hope.

"Yup," Lin nodded, "Earendil has it, but you're going to have to pry him away from his mother first."
She wondered how Earendil was holding up under all the talking and questioning. She was glad that he got a letter too, since finding people who were nearly as old as you was rare to begin with.

Sir Valdemar looked over at Earendil. It was clear that his mother had taken possession of him and wasn't going to be letting him go anytime soon, but he desperately wanted that letter. He mulled it over for a moment, then came to a decision. He rose and walked over to the two of them, then leaned in close and whispered to Earendil. Earendil grinned and dug into his bag, pulling out the letter and handing it to Sir Valdemar. The historian smiled and bowed and returned to sit next to Lin.
"After all this time, it simply requires knowledge of how to handle her Highness," he smiled mischievously at Lin.

Lin giggled at that, even though it wasn't anything drastic it was amusing in it's own way. Mainly because she had never seen Sir Valdemar like this. She smiled at him fondly.
"There's another letter for Elros too, so I'll also be going to the Eastland with Earendil. Besides it's been a long while since I've seen him."
The last time she saw him she had been wingless, human...
