Adele slept peacefully, curled close against Rue and hugging him close to her.

They were asleep for only a few hours before the building suddenly shook. Rue sat up quickly, looking around in alarm. What the heck was that?

Adele sat up too. She reached for a knife, holding it tightly. "Rue," she said, to make sure he was alright. "What's going on?"

"Don't know," Rue said. He got up out of bed. He headed to the window to see what was going on.
Then out of nowhere arrows went flying towards him. He cried out in alarm, not expecting a tactic so obvious. He backed up quickly, "Adele, I'll distract them. You go for safety!" He said.

Adele cursed as she grabbed her sword. She pulled on her boots and ran. "Be careful, Rue!" she called as she ran.

"Alright!" Rue said and ran to the window, diving out. His four wings emerged from his back. He hoped he didn't have to completely transform.

Adele started running out, her sword in her hand. She glanced back, to make sure Rue would be alright.

The men were more focused on Rue than Adelle.
Rue cursed under his breath. There were a lot of them. They must have gotten tipped off that he was here. Rue began to transform into his dragon form to try and protect Adelle.
Then, from the top of one of the buildings, some men launched a harpoon at him, hitting him squarely in the chest. Rue fell to the streets.

Adele was looking when this happened. "Rue!" she screamed. She started running to where he was. She couldn't let him get hurt!

The hunters surrounded Rue. Some of them tried to grab Adelle.

"Get the hell away from him!" Adele screamed. She began attacking the men with her sword. She tried to fight her way to Rue.

Rue returned to his human form and coughed blood. The harpoon lay next to him.
The hunters took out their weapons and fought back against Adele.
