Chrysant 3.14 We host a Fall Party every year on the first weekend of fall. And the past few years we incorporated soup. So today is our party and... ...it's going to 92ºF/33ºC today. crying Well if you still want soup go for gazpacho. biggrin Somebody did bring a gazpacho! It so so hot. I had two kiddy pools going...one for the kids and one for the adults to put their feets in. But at least it is still September so once the set started to set the temp dropped about 20 degrees.

3.14 Chrysant 3.14 It made me wonder what if there are weird American/Midwest sayings that you might not know? The only thing I could think of in my area we call traffic circles "roundabouts" and apparently most of the USA doesn't? I know they don't in Wisconsin because their signs always say "traffic circle" and I always think...roundabout is a much more entertaining word to say. ... "Traffic circle"? That's a new one to me! We call them roundabouts too. Although I thought all of America only had straight roads really... In my experience...most people are VERY confused by roundabouts. So they tend to put them in rural areas where they do not get used as much. sweatdrop I mean I base my opinion on the tiny part of Florida I've been to, so... xd

Especially my state...it's very flat and straight and boring.

I can't even deal with America today. If I see one more post about athletes kneeling during the anthem I will lose my mind.

But like, isn't what they're doing protected by the amendments ...? I could be wrong, since I have no idea except that the second amendment is the right to arm bears.

And even if it wasn't protected...it's just dumb. Not the guys who are protesting...I understand and respect what they are doing. But the flag/song worship here drives me crazy. After 9-11 my high school changed their policy and made it mandatory that we say the pledge of allegiance every morning. I remember it made me so mad...because hey I have no problem saying it...but when you tell me I HAVE to? I didn't. I just stood there until it was over. It has always felt weird to me even as a kid I had to "pledge my allegiance" to something.

Seems to cause a lot of unnecessary tension and conflict, when instead people could just be "oh hey, you're a person? ME TOO! Wow, isn't that swell. Well, have a nice day!"

3.14 It's finally cold again! 4laugh I am so happy about this. The last week was hotter than it was in July!!! gonk eek I hate when it's that hot. emo As for the who NFL thing, what pisses me off most is NOT that they are kneeling. It's that there is REAL SUFFERING going on in Puerto Rico and people have their panties in a twist over a goddamn SONG rather than the fact that it's over a week later and they have received minimal aid from our gov't! UGH! scream T.E.: I don't even know what's going on in that roundabout. I don't know if I ever want to know. gonk
