3.14 Peppermint Elf 3.14 So I never heard back from that job applied for. Is that an American thing? Where places say they will contact you with an answer and just blow you off? People keep telling me that I should contact them, and sure I can, but honestly they can't take 2 minutes to send me an e-mail saying sorry? Especially when they get recommendations from my school--they aren't going to refer people to them if they just blow them off. But in better news, I have an interview for an internship tomorrow that is very promising. 4laugh This is actually probably better than the full time job I interviewed for because it is only for 20-30 hours a week. Which works better while I finish my last semester of school and more time to spend with my family. heart I dunno. I've always heard that if you call them back asking about the status of your application, it looks good and means you're interested in the job.
But the newer job seems better. You don't want to work yourself to death taking care of Daisy/aminals/homework/housework, full time job, and last semester worries! We all want you around for a long long time to come! We enjoy Pi presence. heart I have heard this too but it was after the interview and she told me she would call me. I even did the follow up thank you and everything, she could have just responded to that with a nope. rolleyes But! I had the other interview this morning and they offered me the intern position! Yay! Grats Pi! heart

Dang, that stinks they didn't even have the courtesy to l et you know. Especially since you even went to the trouble of making a follow up call.
But boo for them, their loss! Yay for getting the even-better position!

Thank you! 4laugh It doesn't have as many hours as I wanted, but it does pay well. The good thing about accounting internships is that they almost always pay and pay well.
But I am really excited. Also because I won't be working/schooling as much I am going to volunteer for a few hours at an animal rehabilitation center down the street from my house. It's mostly owls/eagles/raptor birds but they have some bunnies, foxes, and coyotes. 4laugh

I heard back from mine - a big fat nope - and they've also relisted the job... Glad to hear you've got something else lined up! Good luck with that! heart Bah, that stinks. I guess it's nice they let you know, at least. I hope something even better comes up soon!

I have an Aussie friend who's looking for an internship right now and she says almost all of them are unpaid. When I was finishing up vet school, I looked at some internships, and they typically paid, but barely enough to survive. Well-paid is definitely a good deal! whee
And it sounds like the shorter hours will work out well. Being able to volunteer at the rehab center sounds awesome! I've gotten to work with some of our local wildlife rehab organizations, and it's always so exciting. It's amazing getting to work with raptors up close. heart

I've gotten to work with some of our local wildlife rehab organizations, and it's always so exciting. It's amazing getting to work with raptors up close. heart At our school you have to have an internship to graduate and a friend of mine who was a psych major could only find unpaid internships. Mine will pay $16 an hour. $15-$20 is typical for the industry, so I am pretty happy! Plus they are going to pay for me to do some certification courses that I can add to my resume. And the wildlife place (Hoo Haven) is really neat! My friend started volunteering a couple of weeks ago. They had an open house a few weeks ago so we got to see a lot of the animals they have. It's a lot of cleaning up cages and feeding the birds but the animals are so cute. 4laugh
