Chrysant The thing that bugs me the most about politics is that, no matter the country, it's always "them" vs "us". It's all very hostile, and it kinda upsets me that as a species we're still set in that way. Like it's a bunch of fully grown adults (physically maybe not mentally) just making personal attacks against the other person rather than making any progress toward improving the situation. Politics man... What frustrates me is that some of my family apparently doesn't understand why people are so upset about Trump losing. They are crying that "we are sore losers" and "need to get over it". I tried to explain to them that it ISN'T about that. I don't care that Hillary lost. I don't know anybody who is protesting because they are just upset that Hillary didn't win. They are afraid of what is going to happen to their safety and lives. They don't even take the time to think about other people... stare

VERY MUCH SO. And really, if we went by that logic? HILLARY WON THE POPULAR VOTE. The people DID speak and they voted for her! But we live in a crazy country with an electoral college so Trump wins. Ugh, yes! Every time I hear someone say, "Well, the people spoke," in response to Trump winning, I want to shout that at the top of my lungs. The people picked Clinton; the system picked Trump.
Like, I get that the electoral college is the system we have; we all went in knowing that. Sometimes it works in your favour, sometimes not. It was a fair win by the system we have in place (unless you take into account the increased voter restrictions that came up after the Voting Rights Act was gutted, which I think shouldn't be discounted) but that doesn't mean you can say the people picked Trump. Not the case.
At least I can say there's probably not going to be any disagreement at my Thanksgiving dinner. My mother hates Trump. My sister hates Trump. I have not spoken to my niece about it, but if I know her at all, she and her girlfriend probably hate Trump.

Yeah, from what I've read 25is;h voted for Trump. SO what they really mean is "SOME people have spoken". Just like the 52% to 48% for leaving the EU. Apparently that implies "the will of the people". b***h that's the will of some people.

He is gonna be thrown in the deep end and I think he knows that from his first visit with Obama.
As for the popular vote, Hillary got over 2 million more votes than Trump. I live in NY, so I know that my vote counts. I can't imagine living in Wyoming or Alaska where you know your state's electoral count means s**t. So why even bother voting?
