Dr. Fomite Ahah, what a day. sweatdrop It was getting toward the end of the work day and things were winding down, when there was a sudden loud sound like an explosion that made the building shake.
Ran up front and somebody had plowed through the front of the building with a truck. Took out a huge chunk of brick wall and our front door. It was incredibly lucky nothing was going on; if anybody had been near the front desk in the waiting room, they'd probably be dead. Huge chunks of brick flew over the reception counter, but somehow managed not to hit any of our receptionists.
Ugh. Holy moly eek Glad that no-one was hurt! How on earth did that happen?!

Chrysant Holy moly eek Glad that no-one was hurt! How on earth did that happen?! Peppermint Elf Wow! Totally fortunate! Was it a drunk driver? Elderly? I'm glad no one was hurt!!! gonk
I wish I knew how to get pictures off my phone. I'll have to figure that out at some point. It's fairly impressive. xp
Somewhere along the lines, someone said the lady had a seizure? I'm not sure if that was her claim or what. She wasn't very old, and one of the receptionists and I ran out to check on her right after it happened, and she seemed perfectly lucid. Had a phone in her hand and just shrugged at us when we asked if she was OK. She was kind of rude to the owner when he went out. She didn't act like someone who'd just had a seizure, but I don't know. Everyone else at work is convinced she was on drugs, but it's a lot of, "she looks like the type" talk, so I don't know about that either.
One of the receptionists was watching out the window and said the lady just came right off the street, through the parking lot, and into the building without slowing down at all.
I got to see our security camera footage yesterday, and it was really something. It looked like a bomb went off.

Several years ago at my last job we had somebody pass out [they were diabetic] while driving, jump a curb and crash into our parking lot. They crashed into the car of a guy who was kind of a jerk so it was okay.

Like it's still bad, but you just don't care quite as much as you should. He got a new car out of it and was still a jerk so. xp

I'm going to cry if that doesn't happen, I really am. So democracy huh... I'm so sorry guys. I really am. I'd always - naively - looked at America of being a place where it was only the minority who were openly willing to support sexism, racism, etc and where hope would triumph over hate. And don't get me wrong, I enjoy a Harambe meme as much as the next guy... But why would people spoil their vote in what is easily the most important election? Serious question - has ANY president before had charges against them for sexual assault and fraud? What would happen if the cases went AGAINST him?
