ARlen carefully took the pitcher and a glass and carried them up the stairs, stepping carefully around Baizou. Knocking softly on the door so he wouldn't catch Lily by surprise, he walked over to the bed and poured her half a glass of water, handing it to her and setting the pitcher on the counter.

*jad removed his reader, and set it down, then without touching it, it activated and began a series of searches*

Lily took the water with a small smile, eyes opening again as she tried to keep him from seeing her pain. "Thank you." she murmured in that dulled speech. She managed to hold the glass for some time, but then... it fell to the ground, water spilling everywhere. The glass was too heavy to break when it hit the floor, but that didn't stop helpless tears from rolling down the teen's cheeks.

Arlen instantly knelt down next to her, ignoring the water as he wrapped his arms around her. "It's alright," he said soothingly, stroking her back. "It's just a little water, no big deal."

He didn't hear Jad downstairs, so he was pretty sure there was no one down there. He slowly crept down, keeping his his ears perked. He didn't notice Jad and crawled towards the fireplace.

Lily silently nodded; she wasn't inclined to talk much at the moment, as doing so made her feel stupid. She opened and closed the hand that had dropped the water as she held on to Arlen as tightly as she could; her muscles felt weak and unresponsive.

Baizou's hair stood on end as his head snapped over to face Jad. He clung to the hearth, keeping his eyes on the man to make sure he wasn't going to come closer.

"I feel stupid, and weak..." Lily answered slowly. "And clumsy. My head hurts, and I forgot some things..." Then she sighed and closed her eyes, leaning against him rather heavily. "I'm glad you are here."

"Jadonima..." Baizou murmured, realizing he knew this man's name. He was a friend... But he didn't trust anyone right now. He wouldn't trust his own mother at the moment. "You would be surprised." He was conversational, but his tone of voice was skeptical, almost judging.
