The third String Shot spread enough to get a good amount of webbing on the Clefairy's body along with her face, which she had to take the time to clear before her next attack. She grunted as she did so, signaling to her trainer that she was ready for her next attack. "All right Clefairy. Double Slap!" Jeremy ordered. Eyeing the Ariados as her prey, the Clefairy charged the short distance and let loose with her slaps, hoping to bash the bug into submission.

"Alright Ariado, give 'em hell! Use Fury Swipes!" As Ariados leaped off of her strong legs to charge forward, she met the Clefairy's barrage attack with one of her own, violently swiping her hooked front legs at the small pink pokemon. The attack she took earlier was a good one, and she was a bit sluggish because of it.

As soon as her attack ended, Jeremy's Clefairy went straight into her defensive stance, a stance that she had learned after battling many Fighting-type opponents. As the Ariados unleashed her fury, the Clefairy watched each swipe carefully, dodging and weaving as many as she could. Had she been at full mobility, the attack might have failed, but her drastically reduced speed punished her with two gashes to the shoulder and face. Nevertheless, she bore the pain and waited for her opponent's last strike. As soon as she saw it come, she made an incredibly quick side-step, followed by an equally quick upper-cut-like Pound straight to the mandible of her enemy.

Jeremy watched on as his Pokemon fought fiercely. It wasn't uncommon for his Clefairy to fight by herself, not when she was in her focus zone. "Gotta thank Whitney for her training," Jeremy thought to himself.

"Alright Kiwi! Stay low to the ground and try to dodge the attacks!" Tori extended her arm and pointed towards Kaji and Rei.

"Pid!" Kiwi nodded in agreement to Tori's command and started to fly closer to the ground. She tried her best to dodge Rei's Thuder Shock.

"Okay Kiwi, use Sand-Attack to try and get some in her eyes!"

Kiwi started to flap her wings hard against the ground and used the wind to thrust sand towards Rei.

"Hang in there!" Ariados landed with a thud, struggling incredibly to get up. She was tired, another hit of two and she was gone. But fot now, for this moment, she was still in the fight. "Poison Sting now!" She used everything she had in her, launching forth an array of poisonous barbs at the Clefairy that was a mere few meters away. "Come on girl, give me more power!"

Being so close, there was nothing that Jeremy's Clefairy could do to dodge the attack. Instead she brought her arms up to protect her face and more importantly, her wound. If one needle had made it's way in there, the poison would have been devastating. With her arms in front though, none of the needles hit the gashes. Even so, the Clefairy felt a slight burning sensation near her thigh. The poison had found a way in, despite her best efforts. She was lucky it was a small amount, but it was an amount nonetheless; it would take her down eventually.

After the volley ended, the Clefairy took a deep breath. She wasn't going to let it be known that she was poisoned. She did not need to make her opponent more confident nor did she need her trainer to be worried. Instead, she returned to an attacking stance, a serious glare on her face. "Double Slap!" Jeremy called. As before, she charged in with her arms swinging, putting all of her strength into each slap. She made sure to take her time with each slap though. If she rose her heart rate, the poison would spread. She had to take it easy.

"Rei!" he shouted. Ergh... a Sand Attack... hmm what to do.. Kaji looked helplessly as sand was forced into Rei's eyes. "What should I do..." he whispered.

A low gurgling sound came from Rei's throat. Kaji heard its creepy noise "A growl attack!?" he had never seen Rei as different as she acted now. "Rei! Concentrate on the sounds and vibrations around you to see!" he ordered

"Pika.. ha.. ha" it spoke its name with ominous laughter. "Grab hold of it and use thunder shock!" Rei smiled and used its natural agility to make its way towards Kiwi, if Kiwi did not move, Rei would certainly grab hold of Kiwi and finish the match

"Great job Kiwi! Now dodge to the side and fly high!!" Tori interlaced her fingers and giggled happily. It wasn't that she had the upper hand, but that her and Kiwi were finally a team.

Kiwi manuvered to the side just in time and flew high into the sky. She hid in the area where the sun was in the sky. Rei nor Kaji would be able to see where she was.

"Kiwi use Tackle!!"

Kiwi dived down from the sky towards Rei. As she dove she gained more momentum. If Rei didn't move out of the way, Kiwi would tackle her hard.

"We can do this Kiwi!!"

Kaji smiled "This was over the moment you sent Kiwi into the sky.. Rei send a Thunder-bolt directly above you. Use just a little more electric then normal and scatter smaller sparks just in case."

"Chu.." she said as she nodded in compliance with his strategy. She did fire a main bolt of lighting upwards, it was after all the only direction a flying Pokemon could attack from. The lighting would rush quickly and fast.

"Huh?" The girl seemed to have blanked out for a moment, either pondering deeply about something or not thinking at all. "Oh. . . Well, I can't say that," she said in a flustered tone, finding it odd that her face seemed to heat up although it was no hotter in the room than before. "We've only briefly met. . . three times, technically," she added as her complexion returned to almost normal. How strange, the brunette thought distractedly, though she pushed it off her mind for the time. "He's been really kind to me, though, and I really think he's a good kind of guy." Seeing that this is M.A., however, one could assume that she'd say the same of nearly anyone; she found people wonderful in that they all had something good in them, whether or not they liked to show it.

Leaning back in her chair, she gave a nervous sigh. A real Gym Challenge. Was she up for it? Was this the path she wanted to take -- did she want to become a trainer after all? A slideshow seemed to play in her head of the times she had battled thus far, and again she felt the excitement that had rooted itself in both her and her Pokemon when they fought and worked together, side by side. And of course, there was the pride of having giving their best, and the bond that they had fostered throughout the whole process. Glancing down at Daemyn, who had pounced into M.A.'s lap, she caught his gaze. In those dark, steely eyes, she could see his heart, his desire to fight and win -- alongside herself. Yes, this was the path she wanted to take. There would certainly be hard times and times where she would see her friends, her Pokemon, hurt and battered, but there were also times of joy, triumph, pride, comradery, and adventure. Together -- Daemyn, Ulani, Tora, any other Pokemon that might join them, and herself -- they would make it, she was sure. This was living life; there was no use in being scared of doing so, in being scared of failure or pain.

"You ready, buddy?" she found herself quietly asking the Houndour in her lap for the umpteenth time that morning. He nodded with untiring vigor; he was ready for not only this Gym Battle, but anything else that life might throw at them.

Meanwhile, Ulani had floated over to an eating Sting. 'Good job yesterday!' she chirped sweetly -- she hadn't been able to give her regards to him after the battle last night after all.

Train gave her Pikachu a little push, so he'd crawl onto her shoulder. "No more picking apples! I don't want anyone to hear another explosion, and think we're setting of actual bombs or something!" She scolded him jokingly.

As they walked through the forest, Train decided to go back onto the path, to see if there were any trainer there. Then again, there probably would be, since trainers were, well, everywhere! So she found her way out of the woods and back onto the regular trail, where she glanced around for a tranier to battle.

Back at her trainer's side Bahamut's tiny little leg's scrambled to scrape the Sludge off of her face. It hurt her eye's and it probably messed with her accuracy which was not a good thing. Across the room the Muk was making it's way over to Dante's side probably going to make a sneak attack on the unsuspecting Vibrava. Unfortunately for it Dante saw the foul smelling blob coming closer. "Bahamut Fly up in the air and wipe that gunk of up there." He ordered. Bahamut still scrapping at her face did as she was told her wing's starting to hum even louder as she ascended up into the air.

The Muk made a disappointed sound as his opponent flew up out of reach. Slinking back to his trainer the poison pokemon gave Derik a sad look. Seeing it Derik adjusted the glasses on his face. "Do not worry, we still have a chance of hitting it." Hearing this the Muk brightened up. "I want you to launch your Sludge Bomb attack at it." Derik said adjusting his glasses on his face once more.

The Muk, liking the sound of throwing thing's clapped his large arm's together before picking up a ball of sludge. Dante who wasn't really watching the other trainer, his eye's up on Bahamut who had gotten most of the Sludge off of her face. Was as surprised as Bahamut was when she finally opened her eye's to see a Sludge Bomb attack hurtling towards her. Giving a loud surprised screech she barely managed to dodge it in time. As soon as she dodged one another came sailing up at her. For once Dante was grateful for his pokemon's goofy flying that she usually did, before now he had never quite realized how good a flier she was.

Skillfully dodging the attack's Bahamut did a sort of back flip in the air before diving down to deliver her attack on the gooey pokemon below her.

"Just what I've been waiting for," Lisa nodded, grinning as Nidoking burst from his Pokeball. His powerful tail pounded the ground, sending dust and debris flying. He roared loudly, tossing his head back and forth for a few seconds before his eyes came to rest on the female in front of him. An impressed grunt escaped the Nidoking's throat, and he took up an offensive stance, a toothy grin creeping onto his face.

The Nidoqueen was equally impressed by the sight of the male in front of her, and she too grinned toothily, adopting a fighting stance of her own. Her trainer issued the command for a Bite, and snapping her jaws, the Nidoqueen charged, intent of finding a weak spot on her target just as Mightyena had done to her.

Immediately Jaeshan ordered Nidoking to counter with Horn Attack, and growling, the large, purple beast charged forward, lowering his head as he neared the female. The two collided against each other, Nidoqueen reacting quickly and grabbed Nidoking's horn, holding it fast as he tried to jab it into her chestplate. A struggling match ensued then, with no damage being dealt to either side, not to mention that both Pokemon were of the Poison-type and thus immune to each other's Poison Point abilities. Neither Drill Pokemon could gain the upper hand, and slowly they backed away from each other, neither one daring to take their eyes off the other.

It was over in a flash. Kilik fell to his knees, bewildered. "N...No way!!" he punched the ground in anger, growling a bit to himself. I lost...to a Psychic?! he thought with his head hung low. The sound of a Pokeball recalling its creature rang out and the group left with murmurs. Kilik made out 'He's a joke!' and 'Well, he's not all he's cracked up to be, is he?' before they had faded away. The boy looked up. How could he have lost?

"Alakazam!" the voice echoed in his head, "Use Fire Punch!" The left hand of the Psychic pulled back and became engulfed with fire, and was then swung forward, colliding with Lairon's head.

The image was burned into his mind. Slowly, Kilik stood up and recalled his Lairon, who lay motionless in the street. "I lost...To some old man with an Alakazam!" The boy stomped his foot, "Had the little boy still been battling, it would've been an easy victory!" He turned his back and headed into the Pokemon Center. He was totally silent as he handed his Pokeballs over to the Nurse for them to be healed and treated. He walked over to the couches and sat down, pulling his PokeNav from his pocket and scrolling to M.A.'s name.

M.A.,
Star? Nah.
Thanks for the support.

He paused. Didn't she say that she was going for a Gym Badge in a few days (since the last time he saw her)? He erased his message and started again.

M.A.,
Star? I wish. xD;;
Good luck in your Gym Battle, if you haven't had it yet.
Sweep the floor with him!
Or her. Whoever it is you're battling. >__>;
Yours, Kilik.

He read over the message a few times and nodded. "That should do." He clicked 'send' and then tucked the device back into his pocket. A sigh escaped him.

"...I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST!!" he groaned, slapping his forehead.
