Miyuki stared at the ball, just stared at fidgeted for a moment. She looked at it some more before trying to say the word.
"All," her ears twitched, "all!"
Lin giggled a bit more relaxed seeing as Miyuki's sudden use of love didn't phase Earendil at all.

Earendil chuckled softly and tapped Miyuki lightly on the nose. "Buh, buh!" he told her, trying to show her the phoneme. "Buh-all! Ball! Try again!"
He smiled at her encouragingly. She was doing very well, learning very fast indeed!

Miyuki blinked at looked at the object in his hand and looked back to Earendil.
"Buh! Buh! Buh!"
Well it was the other sound that made ball at least.
Lin had to giggle at that.

Earendil laughed. "Ball! Put it together, Miyuki! Ball!"
This was far more fun than he could ever have imagined it would be. Why was it so different from teaching his nieces to talk? He wasn't sure.

Miyuki stared at him a bit more as she fidgeted a bit.
"Buh... all? Buh-all?"
She stared up at him expectantly.

Earendil chuckled and tickled Miyuki's sides. "Good enough," he grinned at her. He ruffled her hair affectionately and looked over at Lin, grinning widely. "So. Exactly what time is it? How long did I sleep?"
He really had no idea, and the fact that Haldia was asleep didn't help. She could sleep at any time during the day.

"It's late morning," Lin replied.
She wasn't quite sure how long exactly, but it was quite long she figured considering it all.
Miyuki giggled and collapsed in Earendil's arms.

"Ah," Earendil smiled, gathering Miyuki into his arms and snuggling her for a moment before setting her back on his lap. "At least I don't have to ask for something for breakfast, if we're going to be eating soon."
He leaned back and crossed his leg comfortably. "Good morning?" he smiled.

Lin had to laugh at that, after all that and only now did he remember to say good morning. Not that she minded it wouldn't be morning for very much longer anyways.
"Good morning," she replied, "I hope you don't mind, but we'll be staying the day. It was Amara's idea, she said she could get the doll done by then."

Earendil grinned. "Sounds good to me. It's not like we had plans or something. We have the winter to do just about anything. Why rush?"
He bounced Miyuki a bit on his knee.

Lin nodded at this, "Good point."
Maybe by the time winter ended she would have it all figured out. Lin, while dense knew better than to write the whole thing off, and she was also painfully aware that she didn't know how to feel, but seeing as she lacked negative emotion that seemed to be a good sign.
She hoped.
"How do you like winter so far?"

Earendil chuckled. "It's been only a day, how can I tell?" he grinned. "Maybe once we're back at the ranch and doing more with the snow, I can give a bit better opinion. Maybe we can try some of those forts that you and Fletcher seem to think are so great, and maybe have a snowball fight or something."
He paused thoughtfully. "I think that's what Leyenda was trying yesterday ..."

"She was," Lin smiled at the thought.
It was a pity it had to be interrupted even if Lin didn't like to be caught up in one. A lot like Arwen, willing to just jump into things.

Earendil laughed. "Well, what do you expect? How often have I ever had anything thrown at me?"
He grinned at her. After all, he was well aware that he had a rather uneventful upbringing, and if anyone had thrown anything at him at the castle it would not have ended well.

Lin giggled at that, there were times she often forgot that Earendil had a safe childhood. Not to say she didn't perse, but Lin tended to get herself into some very hairy situations growing up. Thankfully she had never gotten into any situation as bad as Triton, no one as far as she knew could top Triton's childhood.
"I can't deny that," Lin replied, "First time with enough snow to throw at people. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend throwing things at people. Unless it's a ball."
