[Dawn : The Challenger]

Dawn watched Louis silently as he used the darkness to mend his pants. The wind user couldn't help, but give a small laugh at his comment as he went towards the door. She followed after him and started to exit the room.

"OH!" Dawn said as she paused when she got to the doorway, "before I forget again. Here, I assume you want these back." She took out the daggers she picked up before and handed them back to Louis, giving him a slight smile and wink, "Just don't leave them behind if you decide to chase after demons." She paused a moment before she continued. Her smile faded and she touched his arm in an awkward pat, "... Anywho, glad to have you back."

With that Dawn walked faster back to the deck, proceeding to join the others.

[Dani :: Angel Grove :: City]
Dani gasped as she heard Kyle’s voice. Dani was not sure if Kyle was coming back. “Kyle!” she yelled before trying to walk over to give him a small hug. The problem was the fact that since she was exhausted, she tended to move sides to side like a drunken person before she reached Kyle.

“I missed you Kyle!” Dani smiled and held onto him, “Yeah. I am really worn out. I tried to get Alan, Kyla, and Riku out of the wires they were in so it kind of wore me out. It’s also a first summon for me so. Is it really okay for you to help me up? I do not want to be a bother.” She said the bit at the end concerned that she was causing Kyle pain or that she was being a bother. This was something that she was always worried about.

[Carribean Sea ~ The Challenger --> Dinghies]

"Nah, don't worry about it." Noelle smiled, waving a hand. She chuckled slightly at his comments about arguing with Joe and followed after Dawn, knowing they were probably a little far behind the others. She skipped out the door and watched Dawn head back up to the deck, hesitating slightly. She still had that question gnawing at the back of her mind.

The agromancer looked back over her shoulder at Louis, clearly looking like she had something to say. "Ah . . . er--never mind. I'll ask later."

With that, she ran up the stairs and to the dinghies. She jumped in (trying not to fall out) and stood with her hands on the rope to the pulley that would lower them down. As soon as Louis was in the small boat she lowered them down into the water. They were the last off the ship and began to trail after the others into the swamp. Noelle wordlessly took over the oars, bracing her feet against one of the dinghy's cross beams as she pulled, thrusting them forward through the water. It wasn't the easiest job, but she could manage.

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Zexion ; Kuja : The Challenger -> Swamp ]

Kyle grinned, chuckling a little under his breath. "Star Wars is awesome, yes, but a little warning- you go 'dark', and we'll be sure to kick your a**, capiché?"

He laughed again, despite the thoughts Anthony had stirred. One of their last lightning users had given into the Darkness- Timmy. It had been a particularly nasty blow to some of the people, such as Jon. And it had been Cory who'd recruited them.

These new guys would have to be warned about Cory soon enough, especially if he'd just tried to take Kyla, Alan, and the other Kyle, too.

"Um... I'm actually not entirely sure. Jack would know," Sora said, looking to the Captain, who was in the same dinghy as them, but Jack rarely listened to the goings on around him. Sora gave a somewhat thoughtful look, though it seemed more confused than anything. "And I know Kyle said something... the end of the world? Well, 'world's end', anyway. I think we're just here for the Pearl, to be honest."

"Ugh, from a large boat to a small boat... why did I even bother coming on this trip," Kuja complained (particularly loudly) as he (finally) entered into Joe's boat, setting off with the rest of the group. "Can't we ever visit someplace nice? Like hot springs?"

[[Keep in mind, we're all in different boats, there are about 4 dinghies, if I remember correctly.]]

[Anthony ~.~ Caribbean Sea ~.~ Dinghies]

Anthony looked up at Sayrike as she boarded their dinghy, causing it to slightly rock, and smiled, tilting his head back as to greet her. He turned his attention back to Kyle, who threatened to beat him up if he were to ever join the dark side. He leaned back a little, his eyes widened, and waved his hands in front of him as he shook his head.

"No, no, no," Anthony finally said, sounding a little nervous. "I don't think I have what it takes to be so merciless and cruel."

As the dinghies were all finally lowered and began to make their excursion into the swamp, Anthony took hold of the oars and began to row, a task somewhat easier now given his newly found abilities, the small boat through the waters after the others.

[Jenny :: The Challenger -> Swamp]

Jenny hopped into the little dinghy, probably less gracefully than she would have hoped but no one really noticed. After all, it seemed like they were the last ones to go. She looked to Noelle before looking around their dingy. Noelle, Dawn, Louis and her. Jenny's brown eyes then trailed across the water to the others.

Okay... we could totally beat them. So what if I lack real upper body strength... The mage scooted closer to Noelle, wanting to offer some sort of help but knew deep inside that she'd probably slow them down if she got a hold of an oar. Well, maybe it wasn't so much the 'racing' aspect of it as the being-left-far-behind aspect. "Hmm, I wonder what would happen if I cast haste..."

[Dawn : The Challenger -> Swamp]

Dawn got onto the dinghy with the other two, plus Jenny. She sat on the seat at the end of the boat. She held onto the edge with her left hand as the group set out to follow after the others. Dawn gave a small smile at Jenny's comment.

"I suppose it would make us go faster, though..." Dawn paused a moment as if she was thinking, "I am not sure how well speed would do if you don't have the strength to go behind it. I would imagine you'd get tired quickly. Then again what do I know. I've only been on a boat like this one once when I was real little. So I could be wrong. I'd say we could give both and speed boost, but I highly doubt you guys would want me rocking the boat with my dancing."

She let out a soft sigh. Which that did bring up a good point, if there was an attack, Dawn would be unable to do much except with her wind. Then again she'd assume most of them would, except for maybe James and those who had ranged abilities. Dawn just prayed that the Heartless and who knows what else wouldn't come to fight them.

Sayrike::Caribbean Sea: biggrin ingy in Swamp

Sayrike turned around and saw that the last boat full lagged behind. She didn't think they looked like the rowing type. Louis might still be recovering, or at least not ready for hard labor. Unfortunately, Sayrike couldn't walk on water to go over and offer her help, so she tried to do the next best thing. She saw that Dawn was on board, so there could be a solution. Sayrike wasn't quite sure of the nature of Dawn's magic, but it was worth it to suggest something. The girl was still within calling distance of them, so she said in a low voice that carried over the water, "Why don't you try using your wind magic, Dawn? Plant yourself firmly in the boat, stick your hands in the water, turn your palms outward, and release your wind underwater so as to propel yourself forward."

She had half-paid attention to Kyle and Anthony's conversation. Zexion remained silent and imposing as always, and Kyle hadn't really joined in on their games on the boat, so she didn't know as much about him as she did the others. Maybe it was time to find something out. She waited until after he made his lighthearted threat to Anthony in case he went rogue (What was that about? These people seem very much into the whole Light/Dark dichotomy. Tsk, no middle ground.) before jumping in. Sayrike was immediately more polite again, unlike her demeanor later on aboard the ship, but still friendly. "So, what's your story, Kyle? I mean, we've been given some brief information about everything, but...what about you?"

[Azrael: AG: Skies above Streets]

"Tch, first my toy, now me? Don't know when to leave well enough alo-S***!!!"

Giant Hammer plus homing fireballs? Wonderful. Just f***ing wonderful. I am so not dealing with this. They can all go f*** themselves, the cheeky bastards.

Azrael seemed to be enveloped by the dark wind, it picking him up and seemingly melting him through the top of the bird zord and into the sky, arms crossed and body leaning as he watched his zord get blasted and start falling to the ground from the shock of the hammer and the fire spells.

"Alone? Psh, f*** that. I know when I don't stand a chance. I ain't dying for this s***..."

And with a gust of wind flying down, Azrael's voice carried on the wind to anyone the wind touched(which should've been most of the earthlings, if not all). "Not bad at all. Don't worry, though. I'm sure you'll all see me again...and some of you I'd love to have some fun with~ Toodles~" And with that, the male slipped into the dark portal, his zord disappearing from the air with a blast of wind before it even hit the ground.

[Joe: Caribbean Sea: Dingy]

The male glanced at Kuja, eyebrows raised. "Good question. Maybe you could answer it, hm?" The male asked this, then grabbed his oar(s if no one else grabbed the other one). "And it's a common fact. Most journeys lead to swamps and muck and caves over places like grand palaces, beautiful spas, and wonderful hot springs."

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Zexion ; Kuja : The Challenger -> Swamp ]

"You'd be surprised what you're capable of when the Darkness takes hold," Kyle replied to Anthony, shrugging as he continued to paddle the oar of the dinghy. He left the term vague, but he glanced quietly to Zexion, and for a split second, he could tell the Nobody was gazing right back at him through the veil of his hair.

When Sayrike spoke up, Kyle tilted his head slightly, craning his neck back to look at her. "My story? Like... what, where I'm from or something? Don't really think I can sum up nearly two decades of life on this ride, ya know? Anything specific?"

"Maybe your journeys," Kuja muttered under his breath, leaning lazily against the back of the dinghy. A few magic spheres were going in and out of the water, like a water-wheel. "Oh well. Can't be any worse than that Halloween Town, I suppose..."

[ Billy ; Seymour : Angel Grove : City Ruins ]

With the battle finally over, Anima was slowly descending into the ground, an eerie darkness enveloping her until she was once again gone; the darkness vanished, leaving the city with one less giant Aeon.

At that time, the once-blue Ranger ran out from the rubble, looking worried despite the obvious victory. He looked around; the strange, blue-haired magic-user was walking over slowly, and hopefully the others would gather round soon enough.

"Guys, we have a problem!" he declared, looking around through his glasses. "Tommy's gone ahead to the Command Center, but... we lost our powers. We can't get in touch with the others, and we think something may have happened to Zordon, since he's the source of our powers..."

"And of course this means you can't teleport, I'm assuming," Seymour asked, a raised eyebrow as he neared the Ranger.

"No, so we'll have to get there on foot. It's not too far from here," Billy said, looking toward the volcano that towered above the city. "It's actually at the foot of the volcano, about a mile that way-" he said, pointing over the rubble of the buildings. "Ooze's lair is about a mile north of that, so I figured there'd be some danger... still, we had to protect the city-"

"The longer we waste time here, the more damage could be done. Should you not hurry?" Seymour said, beginning to walk in that direction, leaving Billy with a frustrated look.

[Alan :: Angel Grove :: City Streets]

Alan dismissed his armor. He was half dissapointed the replicas got away, and half relieved that he didn't have to fight them anymore. He smiled at Carbuncle with that polite stately smile of his he always used for introductions. "I'd appreciate it, thanks.", he said. "My arm is a little - oh sheesh, my arm. Wow." During his statement, Alan had brought his injured arm to eye level for the first time. It looked like hamburger meat. Unpleasant. "Um . . . so, yeah. And thanks for the assist. I never got your name, by the way. . . ?"

While part of his attention was paid to Carbuncle, he kept an attentive ear on Seymour's conversation with the rangers. Their powers are gone? And . . . Ooze? Oh. That's . . . oh. I see. Lovely.

[ Ivan Ooze ; Lugae ; Beatrix ; Yuffie : Angel Grove : Ooze's Throne Chamber ]

Slowly, the door into the throne chamber opened, where Lugae awaited. As the circular door opened, none other than Ooze himself stepped in, arms opened wide. "Hi honey! I'm home!"

"Ah, welcome back, my lord!" Dr. Lugae said, bowing low (not that it took much with his already hunched-back) to Ivan Ooze, standing in front of the throne. He'd been waiting for quite some time. "Did all things go according to plan?"

"Oh, yes, it was quite the party. Too bad Zee was never much for parties," Ooze said with a chortle, walking toward his throne. Behind him, none other than Beatrix and Yuffie marched, both with vacant stares. "So, how goes Kefka's little toy? I want to test it out soon."

"B-but my lord!" Lugae protested, immediately looking somewhat worried as Ooze brought up the subject of Project Beta. "That... you and Lord Kefka agreed-"

"Bah, who gives a hoot about that stupid deal," Ooze groaned, grabbing a nearby snow globe. Two tiny voices could barely be heard from within, though he seemed to ignore them. "Does that wretched old clown have nothing better to do than check on you all day?"

"Well, no sir, but..." Lugae muttered, wringing his hands over and over. "Well, I suppose it could use a test run. But I don't want the subject alone! It would be ruined!"

"Well, then we'll just have to send these two girlies with it!" Ooze declared, grinning as if all had been settled. "You get it prepped. It's not like the Rangers will be around to mess things up."

"Yes, sir, right away," Lugae said, a slight scowl on his features as he turned away from Ooze and left the room, heading toward his lab.

[Maria ~ Tower]

Maria sat at a table, staring into the enchanted mirror with vague interest. She had been creating Ajora's army for quite some time now, and had decided to rest and catch up on what was happening with her specimens of interest. She heard the replica's call through the portal and glanced at Dot, who had run rather hastily into her field of vision to climb up onto the table. A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips but disappeared when she looked back to the images in the mirror. The battle with the earthlings in their goofy suits was beginning to get a little boring. She had seen all she needed to by that time anyway, having made mental notes about each magic user. Her excitement was beginning to grow.

Suddenly, the room grew very cold. Maria frowned, a small shiver running through her. Placing the mirror back on the table, she sat up straighter, eyes narrowed as she looked around the room. As her eyes met the open window to her left, she saw a Geist standing there. At first she believed it to be a misguided member of the army she was creating . . . then she realized he wasn't of her creation.

"Where is she . . ." the creature asked, an unnatural quality to the tone in his voice. His eyes were scanning the room as if he had yet to acknowledge Maria. "I can feel her here. Where is she?"

Maria watched the Geist with an air of curiosity, responding to his odd question. "You're going to have to be a smidge more specific. Who is this she you're talking about?"

The Geist directed his gaze towards Maria, some semblance of a scowl on his face as if he felt the emotion. Maria would know feelings and emotion to be impossible for Geists. Even the expression of emotion wasn't in their ability range, as it was in the case of nobodies, because there wasn't a Geist that had yet advanced far enough. That she knew of, anyway. She had yet to meet this particular Geist.

"My creator." The Geist replied flatly.

Maria raised an eyebrow. The only person capable of creating Geists was Kallista, and now, herself. This would be the reason why this Geist sensed her there but could not find her.

"You mean Kallista, right?" Maria smiled, turning in her chair to better face the window intruder.

"Yes. Kallista. She is my master."

"Hmm, interesting. Well, you are correct, Kallista is here . . . she's just not as you remember her."

The copycat looked the Geist up and down, scanning Kallista's memories for any recollection of this particular being. What she stumbled upon was quite surprising. My . . . the little fae was indeed brighter than she seemed.

"She . . . is you." He said, after registering his readings on the woman. Kallista's essence was definitely there.

"Yes. I am her, and she is me. We are one. My name is Maria . . . and you are Prototype I."

"I see . . ." Prototype I drawled, eyeing Maria curiously. "So, you are aware of my task?"

He watched as Maria closed her eyes to search through memories for what she needed. Within a few moments they popped open, a gleam in them that he knew all too well. Kallista wore that same look many times.

"Of course. And were you successful?" Maria asked, leaning forward in her chair.

"Indeed. I have located Prototype IX and I have been observing him for quite some time. He is still unaware of his purpose, as you designed him to be. Though he has made some rather interesting acquaintances.

“I’m aware.” Maria said, lifting the enchanted mirror from the table to show Prototype I. “I have a few more tricks than Kallista did.”

The brunette watched as Prototype I approached to look closer at the images in the glass. Then he did something strange, something she wasn’t used to. He smiled.

“I believe we’ll be getting along quite well.”

[Caribbean Sea ~ Dinghies ~ Swamp]

“Aww, what? You guys doubt my manly arms?” Noelle complained, continuing to row. She sighed—it was a little obvious that she wasn’t enjoying the job. As she moved the oars forward and gave them another pull, she accidentally pulled her hands off them and flew backwards, unseating herself with an exclamation. (“MEHH!”)

Grumbling, the agromancer flailed her legs a bit as she tried to get back into her seat, unintentionally rocking the boat some. “Hey, as soon as we’re close enough I can have the delicious-looking swamp plants pull us along, then we won’t have to deal with this paddling nonsense.”

“Yes, the Pearl.” Jack agreed, actually having been paying attention for once. He was the one doing the rowing in that particular dinghy, as was best. He knew where they were going after all. “Though I’m sure Tia Dalma has some lovely nonsense for us in store, as is usual for such a lovely creature.”
