Alright, I'll come to you then... he promised, concentrating on being weightless and dropping his body on the bed behind him. He rose through the ceiling, eyes squeezed shut even as he somehow saw a very, very faint thread that appeared to be tied to his ankle. When he saw another one, much stronger, tied to his other ankle, he got a glimpse of Mao in the living room.
So that's what the contract can do? Wow... wonder if it's that obvious to Kio? he wondered, starting to 'swim' thorough the air and call out insistently for Yoru.
You know I'm coming to wherever you are, so please don't hide Yoru... he pleaded.

Of course it wasn't like Yoru was hiding from Nathan. If anything he wanted to be as close to Nathan as he could. He wasn't aware of what was going on but it didn't matter. Being that he couldn't use any of his magic he couldn't go anywhere. He was being held where there was abridge of sorts between the world of the living and the world of the dead. Here reapers were charged with keeping souls who refused to move on so that they wouldn't just wander around and haunt or try and possess anyone.

Nathan followed the thread, eyes shut as he concentrated on letting his body float along it. He couldn't make himself move faster, but he did make absolutely certain he didn't lose Yoru's thread. He bumped into something and opened his eyes... only to see a reaper blocking his way, pointing back the way he'd come from.
"No, I'm here for someone! He can be alive again... please, please you have to let me see him!" Nathan begged, mind picturing Yoru to see if that would call him closer behind the reaper's back.

He hooded creature was not one who could not be negotiated with however he couldn't just trust in Nathan's words. He could easily be a soul collector or a necromancer and the creature could not take that chance. Once again he pointed a bony finger in the direction in which Nathan had come signaling for the angel to leave.

"If I promise not to touch him, will you let me through? I- Oh!" Nathan moved a step backwards, then lifted the faint thread at his ankle. "This is who I'm looking for. He belongs with me - I own him, and I need to see him, to take him back. He won't be hurt and he won't come back here because he'll be alive!"
The Angel summoned his wings and fluttered them slightly as he gently tugged on the faint thread, very relieved when it wiggled and didn't snap.

The reaper looked down at the thread. He knew well what that was but seeing Nathan was an angel he found it rather odd to see he possessed such a thing. Usually that was a right reserved only for demons. Still the reaper accepted that as proof that Nathan was not lying and so he stepped aside to let Nathan by.

Nathan felt an urge to kiss the reaper - which he supressed, luckily - and went past him with a bow of his head.
He started calling for Yoru again, gently wiggling the thread to let him know he was on his way. He somehow managed to ignore the other lost souls, knowing he couldn't help them even when he wanted to.

Yoru was sitting alone near the swirling portal which led to the world of the dead. He had contemplated many times walking through but somehow he had stopped himself. He believed in Nathan still and he was there waiting. If Mao was right about anything it was that Yoru really was like a dog who was always loyal to his master even if his master were to kick him down a thousand times.

Nathan's heart swelled, then stopped when he saw Yoru, the joy of spotting him overwhelmed by the idea that Yoru was about to cross over into the world of the dead. He beat his wings furiously, unable to yell because he felt strangled. When he was close enough, he grabbed Yoru up and pulled him back, shaking his head and letting tears drip onto the Demon's head as he whimpered.

Yoru didn't even have to look up to see or tell who it was. The reaction of the other made him sure he had done the right thing in not crossing over. What he could not do however was look at Nathan. Not yet. He wanted to hear first what the other had to say to him.

"I-" he choked, then tried again, sobbing hard. "I'm so sorry. You don't have to st-stay with me, but be alive again. Please don't stay dead! I don't have a-a reason for what I did. B-but I spoke to Mao's Grandmother and I was alone for seven years and I missed him and she said to pick one and I didn't know what to do and M-Mao had had his heart ripped out... s-seeing him again broke me as much as l-losing him had, and... I'm so sorry!
I love you both and I don't deserve either of you and please just come back s-so I can see you alive e-even if you want to be free..." he finished, trembling as he clung on and sobbed harder, wings and arms wrapped around Yoru so tightly.

"Alright." That was his response. He didn't need any time to think about it. He was waiting there for Nathan and he didn't care what the other's reasons were for leaving him then or coming back now. He would go anywhere Nathan would want him to and he would never question it. Yoru stood and looked at Nathan. "Lead the way."

Nathan couldn't let go of him, so instead he picked Yoru up in his arms and flew them out of there. He had to go slowly, but he didn't care. "You... terrified me." he whispered, the wind almost making the words inaudible. "I th-thought you were about to cross over..."

"The minute I got my memories back and found out it was possible, I wanted to come back for you. I didn't know I was talking to you..." He smiled shakily. "I know, and I hope you like the one we made for you. It's not the same as your other one, but as long as it's you inside... Mao wants to talk to you when we get back to the apartment."
