Raquel looked over her shoulder, knowing there wasnot much else to say. "...You're mother had beautiful tastes as well...I mean... these things are just lovely..." She moved off his lap, back onto the floor, opening up one of the little jewlery boxes, smiling as she held up an elegant neclace and otehr little bobbles. She even found a small pin that looked like it belonged to a baby. And sure enough, it had Damian's name on it. She reasoned that it came from the hospital he was born.

"She always did want the best," he said. Damian knew he'd probably frustrated her into small talk. There was no point in dwelling or carrying on, though.
"She may not have been preoccupied with her wealth, but she did know that appearance is important in her social circle. She also wanted to please my father."
Now that he thought of it, it was a bit disgusting how she preened herself for him. Perhaps there had been an underlying ear of losing him. Damian couldn't know now.

Raquel smiled distantly, eyeing the various items, again, gingerly touching each one of them. "Kind of like how I like to do for you?" She asked with a shy smile towards him, though realized as soon as it came out, that it was probably different in many ways. She looked down at the jewelry in her hands again, just sifting through them, putting a mental image of his mother adorning herself with such beautiful accessories.

Damian looked at Raquel. She was just wearing a night dress and a robe. That was it, and he thought she looked absolutely beautiful. Raquel was alive, his fiancee, and healthy. Well, physically, for the most part, but mentally... that was where he wasn't pleased.

She stopped at that. Raquel looked up at him, blinking blankly a moment, her head slightly cocked. "...You do?" She furrowed her brow slightly, but then smiled like a carefree child nad laughed a little. "Well thats a hard habit to break darling." She tried to make it lighthearted and happy though knew better on the inside.
She let her smile soften, then fade as she looked to him

Damian smiled from his place in the room a few feet away from her. In his slightly lazy, slumped stance, he could have been anyone else. Certainly not the straight-backed, prim and proper snob that was Damian Centurion, but just a handsome person looking at her like a fool.
"You should please yourself. Not do what you think I would like, or worry over how I might not think you're beautiful. It's not worth the stress. I'm not worth that stress."

Raquel smiled again once he smiled at her. She rolled her eyes slightly, setting the box in her lap aside before scooting up near him. "Damian...." She sighed once she was directly in front of him, looking up at him with sparkling, but big, green eyes.
"Raquel Lorena Calipso never relied on anyone. Ever." She gave him a persumptuous look, smirking slightly. "I spent my whole life not giving a damn what anyone said or thought about me... " She laughed a little to herself. "This whole....relying on someone occasionally...putting your trust into this one person, devoting yourself to a single individual... Its- ..Mind blowing for me." Her gaze softened as she took him in.
It was quite odd, in her mind, how Damian was able to unlock this insecurity deep inside her. What was strange was despite how much she loved it, there was still this small part of her that hated how vulnerable and emotionally unstable she was now. She felt torn on loving this 'new her' and hating that she was no longer the hardened emotionless thing she was before...
To others this would have sounded foolish, but Raquel knew herself deep down. She understood why she missed being so shut up. She just couldn't put it all together into words to explain to anyone else...
She let her mind wander just a moment before adding "I'm just...thankful to you... and I love you. But I'll stop if you want-" She stopped realized what an oximoron that was with a laugh.

"I just want you to be happy."
His hand went up to touch her cheek, letting his knuckles gently trace its curve. Once they dropped off, his fingers went to touch her hair for a moment. All the while his eyes met hers. this was the Damian he didn't know he could be, never thought he could be.
"So perhaps I should just say 'do whatever the hell you want, Raquel,' instead. Would that work out better?"

Raquel's cheeks had a lingering red where his hand had been, as well as the opposite side, her lips parting slightly. "That could work..." She smirked ever so slightly as she gazed back into his eyes. "Like now for instance..." She got up on her knees, resting on hand on his knee, getting playful as she let it wander up just enough to possibly make him tense, her other hand going to his face.
"Like now... I'm going to kiss you... and there's not a thing you can do about it." She spoke softly but matter of factly as she pulled his head in for a sweet kiss with a strangely spicy aftertaste.

She could send chills right through him at a moment's notice. It was just one reason why he kept being so drawn to her, even when she drove him crazy. When their lips parted, his eyes opened and he only saw that determination and defiance he'd seen the first time they met.
"You could twist me around your finger even more, Raquel, and I'd resign to it." His arms slipped around her so that she couldn't get away from his hug or kiss to match her own. "But don't tell Richard I said that."

Raquel let out a soft laugh as she brought herself even closer. "It'll be our little secret..." She cooed as she brought him in for another kiss, this one a bit more reckless, followed by a trail of kisses down to his neck.

And so he did resign himself to her. Whatever she wanted, she could have. The world, he thought. The stars, she could have them all, because this sensation of being loved was worth losing or gaining everything he had left.
He returned her kisses, held her recklessly close, and yet everything still seemed sweet.

Raquel too loved this strange tingling thorughout her body, the one she got whenever he called her name, whenever he looked at her for a lingering moment, when she noticed the small signs of affection he'd give her unconsciously. THe little things that showed he loved her. He didn't view her as an object to use to his contentment. He saw her as this precious individual, and adored her little quirks and attributes. He loved her in all her imperfections. It was ... amazing to her.
"...Marry me." She whispered slightly heated but still feeling shy and sweet as she tilted he head back as he kissed her neck.

He had asked her first, after all, and had every chance to say he'd take it all back. Not that he ever would.
Damian stopped kissing her and held her for a few quiet moments. They were constantly ruled by their hormones, and maybe it was time to make some effort to reel them in.
"Love you, darling," he whispered.

Raquel was feeling too heated. Her whle body felt hot and heavy, even her eyes couldn't open fully. She knew they had to start behaving a bit more, and she didn't mind that, it was just difficult. "And I love you..." She replied, calming herself down a bit as she adjusted herself to hold him better as well. "I can't believe I have you here.... I can't believe you're my Damian....my Damian...." She repeated this aloud, fascinated at how wonderful it sounded, rolling off her lips.
