Zykariel was neither scared, nor stupid. He didn't flinch when the dagger brushed against his throat and maintained eye contact with Gizdean regardless of how threatening he became. He knew there was no way his father could be poisoned and anything Gizdean had, his mother could get an antidote for or create one of she didn't recognize it. Cerrillia's appearance caused a few warning signs to go off in his head and he narrowed his eyes again. "A neverending search for information? Is that what you want from me? I'll tell you what, you contact me when you need information and I'll tell you whether I can get it for you or not. As for rune magery, I can't help you. I don't know them and my dad doesn't take pupils. No one else on this plane has access to them and they wouldn't do you any good anyway. It's an ancient art, one that has to be taught by a Master. It's nearly extinct."

"you misunderstand me. we're not looking to learn it and master it like your father. only to know how it flows."
gesturing him to take a seat.
"I can explain. In norrath...anyone can be taught magic. it harnesses power in the world itself, more or less. enchanters like myself, we mostly focus on mental energies, auras, if you will."
pouring a glass of wine, and one for him, offering it.
"Necromancers bend life energies. but your father's art...it seems to focus within. it doesn't use the forms of energies we're familiar with outside of necromancy. which is why necromancy is a fearful power on Norrath."
watching him a moment.
"It takes centuries of study to truly harness magic. Surely you've realized this from being around your father and Malik D'vinn. D'vinn's necromantic power is great, but a true necromancer can easily push him aside in terms of what they can really do."
Taking a seat.
"I'm looking for the techniques of this art. the methodology of how he coaxes such power from within. to channel power from the world, and enhance it with power from within. Think of it as your racing...you let the horse carry you, you move with her and enhance her abilities. Now imagein you could add your physical strength or speed to further increase hers. that's what your father's techniques can offer us."

He took the wine and settled down next to her but didn't drink. "The same applies here. Mages can remove the natural energy that flows through the plane or they can pull from the energy stored into objects, like linkstones." Blinking in confusion for a long moment. "You should know how to harness your own energy. But if your parents or whomever didn't teach it to you then I'm sorry. I don't know how to teach that sort of thing." He'd thought that was something all elves had an inherent knowledge of. Perhaps Norrathian were different.

"We don't use internal energies. we pull from the mana that flows through our world. it penetrates us, and fills us in a manner of speaking, but this is different. it's like he's use a permenant necromantic liching spell. drawing on his life or some other internal source to power his magic or enhance the natural flow of mana around him. if your familiar with it, then perhaps you can explain how it's done in that manner. power limited only by will and the physical endurance."

Okay...he took a deep breath and shook his head. "If you can use magic on this plane, then you know how to do it. There's very little that is available for use that doesn't come from an object or your own stores. You just kind of have to imagine a big ball of energy inside you and extract just how much you want. It takes practice and time to learn but if you're good you can master it within a few weeks or so."

Having dropped the new surface trash off with Keely, he decided to head home. Honestly whenever his wife was pregnant he didn't like to work as late as he usually would. Though it was perhaps almost noon, he was kicking off anyway. After all, there were things on his mind now that could probably use for soothing...and he had a surprise for his wife anyway, unknown to her. Had had it for weeks. Thusly home with him.

"Wonderful news. then you can help us with that, my sweet sexy boy. I promise we can repay you in all sorts of manners."
petting his hair lightly, giving one of her sweet seductive smiles. he was such a cute boy. So innocent. Neriak males by his age were usually hardened veterans of countless little battles or wars or been burned in manipulations of or by them enough to not trust anyone...and respond violently.

Something had been on Zykariel's mind most of the way through this and he finally decided to voice his uncertainty. "What is all this for? I know you're from his home plane and all but what are you doing? Are you trying to bring him down? Or planning on challenging him...or what?"
"Up on the top shelf of your toy shelves. Yes, right there. Very good." Sweeping the little boy up into a hug and spinning around with him. "I told you we'd clean your room in no time at all. And now you can have a cookie and then we can go play outside if you like." Carting the growing toddler downstairs and fishing a cookie out of the jar for him. "Daddy will be so proud of you."

"What am I going to be proud about now?" Coming out of Zahara's pantry thing, eating something or other. Usually he didn't snack but hey, everyone had off days. Walking over to them he ruffled his son's hair and pressed a kiss to Zahara's cheek. "Should you be carrying him?"

"Is that what your worried about? well. I don't know. we were sent to get the information. what the Queen does with it is her discretion. she may attempt to invade, she may attempt to have a kind of treaty, or she may just be curious and not care to do anything."
tracing her finger along his collar.
"I know my other male associate wants some sort of duel. apparently in Malik's younger years, he was an idol. and he wants to test himself against his idol after his years of training. other then that, no one right now that I know of has anything in their head to try anything."
Gizdean was interrogating someone alone. after breaking both knees and feet, and using a burning candle's wax to loosen tongues, to find out where Zykariel's mother was.

"Of course. Malikhai is a close friend of mine and the D'vinn family is close to mine. You guys want all this information on his enemies and how his power works and that only makes me think that you're trying to bring him down. And Gizdean's little idea makes me wonder at the wisdom of even continuing this relationship. I won't have my family hurt." He couldn't stop the shiver that raced down his spine though he wasn't going to question it at all. "I wouldn't challenge Malik. He's got more power than a lot of people believe, human or elf."
"Kelligrin cleaned his room all by himself." Her lips twitched at the affection added to the question which was so much like him when she was in this state. "Yes, Sevilin, I should. He's my son and he weighs nothing. I should not, however, carry you." Handing the little elf over so he could excitedly chatter to his father about picking up all his toys.

"Did you now? Well you keep that up and you're just going to earn yourself a big boy room." Squeezing the child a little in a hug as he was handed over. Tilting his head at her though, "I'll try my hardest to stay mobile on my own feet then." Offering his son some of the jerky he had been snacking on and debating on whether or not to tell his wife about surface trash yet. "I need to get started on that new room this week. Not to mention furniture and other things." Mental note out loud. "Anyone been saying anything about me down in the market or anything?"

She laughed as Kelligrin squealed happily and then occupied himself with eating the jerky. "We still have plenty of time but feel free to do whatever renovating you like. Just keep in mind that I'm going to want to help." Shooting both a grin before picking up a rag and swiping crumbs off the counter into her hand. "Not really but then I haven't been down there in a while. Why? Did you buy something?" She was just emptying them into the sink when her hand rested over her still flat stomach and she paused. Flutter. Had she felt it or imagined it? No, it was there. "Sevilin." Glancing up with a grin. "It moved."

"If it makes you feel better I'll let you buy some fabric and you can make fluffy things. Or patch up Rawr, he's looking shabby again." Trying not to think too hard about this surface elf thing. "No, just heard some interesting talk floating aroudn down here." A blink and odd look at her mention of moving. He knew what she was referencing...just not exactly the importance. Those things moved, it was what they did. "...And?" Four kids he'd been involved with and still ignorant to some things, even if they had been mentioned to him before. It was probably endearing in some quality and he probably wasn't even aware of that.

"No, I want to help move furniture and such." Saying it just because she knew he wouldn't let her. But it was rather amusing to watch him be blasé about such an important thing. Walking over, she lifted her son out of his arms, and whispered something in his ear, then sent him scampering off. "So, first flutters means we can finally commune with it for the first time. Then we can work on naming and teaching and all of that. I've been waiting for this day forever.
