Dr. Fomite Zelyhon Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone! Growing up is a bit depressing. As nice as some of my gifts were, they were all much more practical than they were fun. New ties, a dutch oven cooking pot, etc. Went out and bought Saint's Row the 3rd for myself to counterbalance some of that. XD
My parents usually get me practical stuff, but this year they just gave me $100 instead, which I used to get a Feist album and Disgaea 4, with a little left over. My sister knows what Christmas is all about, though, and bought me an adorable little Darth Vader backpack. ninja heart I am very pleased with my frivolous giftiness. Yeah, I got a few fun gifts from my friends as opposed to family (including Skyrim), practicality seemed to dominate Christmas. Not that I'm complaining. Having kitchen knives that can actually cut things easily is so very, very nice. My old kitchen pretty-much-everything are hand-me-downs from the parents, so I've got to work on slowly replacing it with new things that work better.

teh CB MEEEEEE!!! 4laugh heart right back at you! Grad school is killing me. Almost all of last semester I had mono, and, on top of that, I had strep throat approximately six?-seven?-eight?-I-lost-count times, and I think I've lost one of my closest friends to UNKNOWN REASONS. /longstorybutitisreallystressful But, 2012 is looking to be a much better year (and I have a wonderful boyfrrrrrrnd), and I'm going to try and drop by a couple times a week! How is everyone? Is everyone a mod now? Can you give me all the gold? Actually I don't need any, does anyone need some? Does anime still exist? What is going on on this web site?! What is that terrifying thing with the Gaia Cash Hair doing?! I AM CONFUSED. Well, I certainly hope that 2012 goes better for you than 2011 seemed to. I hope that, other things aside, you've at least been enjoying the atmosphere and content in grad school. It's enough of a pain if you enjoy the material to be (I would imagine) completely unbearable if you were apathetic towards it. Yes, anime still exists, and we've done sporadic "Hey, let's all watch something!" efforts, but nothing really caught on. I'd suggest another, but nothing in the winter season looks like a must-see to me. Given, I only glanced at it, but nothing really jumped out at me.

Mouretsu Pirates (aka Bodacious Space Pirates) - Based on soft sci-fi light novels written by a fairly hardcore Japanese sci-fi writer, this show is already looking damn good (plot, character design, AND production values) as of just the first episode. Concept: High school girl with dreams of becoming a spaceship pilot (far future, full colonization/civilization of planets throughout the galaxy/universe) finds out that her just deceased (and totally unknown to her) father was the holder of one of the few (mostly unknown to the public as they are relics of a long past war) hereditary letters of marque and that her mother was a former member of his crew. As the only heir, she has the choice to pick up on this legacy or let her best chance at achieving her dreams pass by. Brave 10 - Looking ok so far, but has the chance to get much better. A much different than usual depiction of Yukimura Sonada (for one, a lot more like many depictions of Masamune Date you usually see) declares that to achieve his plans, he needs to find enough "brave warriors" (read certifiable badasses) to count one for each of his fingers. Pretty good cinematic ninja/samurai stuff so far, along with some decent humor. Papa no Ikuto wo Kikinasai (Papakiki for short, it seems) - College student just getting started out at school joins the Sightseeing club to get closer to a total bombshell of a second year who seems to like him in return. Then his older sister (who effectively raised him in the absence of their parents/possible unmentioned orphaning and has now married a man with two daughters from another marriage) needs him to watch said step-nieces who he's met once or twice years ago (the elder developing a huge crush on him) and his new two-year old (and adorable as all hell) neice... apparently for an extended length of time. Zero no Tsukaima Finale - Season 4 of Saito: Supreme Badass Womanizer - The Animu, and the last season, as admitted by the creator, who is back for this last season. More of the same, but it promises to be better than season 3. Ano Natsu de Matteru - The best I can say about this without ******** up things is Onegai Teacher meets Super 8. Also on my plate are Symphogear, Rinne no Lagrange, and Another, but I haven't watched the first eps of those shows yet. If you're looking to check out stuff from last season that are complete, I cannot recommend Ben-To (killer fighting show with insane premise) and Friends Club enough.
