(( Welcome back Kanda! <3 How are you today?
What makes you think that? : O
Hi Lavi! :'D Goodnight Lavi! <3 ))
"Right!" Kiah nodded before righting herself on the tree, crouching so she could balance while waiting for him to cross over. She couldn't help but watch him as he jumped, wondering how anyone could seem so graceful. Once he was below her, she was quick to look away, a small blush on her cheeks as she searched for another branch to jump on.
Eyes landing on a tree a bit further away in distance than her last jump, Kiah slowly braced herself, "Let's hope round two goes better!" She repeated the process the same way as she'd done it before, but didn't seem to realize one small detail until after she'd taken the leap. The landing was much better that time around, but it only took a few seconds for the branch of the dying tree to snap under her weight, causing her to let out a loud gasp of alarm while scrambling for a hold. Unable to catch herself, she fell, getting scraped up by a few branches and screwing her eyes shut as she waited to hit the ground.

(( I'm good, what about you? c: I just know there are some people that I could never forget.. )) "You can do it."
He tried to keep up the encouragement and he watched her with eagle eyes again. He was poised at the ready just in case, though he hoped he wouldn't need to make any sudden moves. The moment she landed he was relieved, but the sickening snap of the branch giving out underneath her made him realize he had counted his chickens before they hatched. Without hesitation he jumped from his branch, reaching his arms above himself to catch another branch. He swung like an able-bodied gymnast and when he was at the forward-most part of the swing he let go, sailing to the forest floor below. He braced for the impact as he landed, his knees bending a little as suspension for his body. He made it just in time, waiting at the base of the tree to catch Kiah in his arms. He stumbled back a little as he caught her, the force of her falling from such a height something he had miscalculated a little. He steadied himself and held her tighter than he realized.
"Are you alright?"
He asked, immediately looking her over to gauge for cuts and scrapes from the rough branches. His eyebrows furrowed with concern, and he immediately felt guilt for allowing her to do something that dangerous to begin with.

(( I'm well~ XD Just studying a little.
Like who? : O ))
Kiah hadn't bothered to scream on the way down, simply gritting her teeth and refusing to watch the ground rush towards her. Though it only took a few seconds, she found that simply waiting for your potential demise seemed feel like a whole lot longer, especially when she could feel each and every nick the branches left on her skin. The landing was a bit rough, but once she was sure that Kanda had caught her she relaxed, opening her eyes slowly and letting out a sigh of relief. "Y-yeah... just a few cuts," she answered shakily, frowning apologetically up at him, "I should have examined that tree a bit better before I jumped..."
She gazed up at the trees and found the spot where she had been only moments before, eyes widening in amazement. He really hadn't been that far below her on the tree, and yet he'd managed to get to the bottom faster than she could fall. "H-how did you... Wow... You didn't get hurt from getting yourself down here, did you?"

(( o: What are you studying?
..Like you. ))
He continued to look at her with concern and sighed a little, shaking his head.
"No, you didn't do anything wrong. I shouldn't have been teaching you something this advanced so soon. It was poor judgement on my part."
He stood there and continued to hold her, it not occurring to him right away to put her down now that she was alright. He looked up to where he had jumped from and gave a small shrug before looking back at her.
"I've had a lot of practice. No, I didn't get hurt. I'm perfectly fine. But your cuts..."

(( Medical terminology... DX
>///> Ohh... Well, I don't think I could ever forget you either! Not that the creep would ever come after me... ))
"It doesn't seem that advanced... and I was doing pretty well for my first time, right? I just... might have gotten a little cocky," Kiah tried to reason, not wanting him to blame himself for her slip up. She would have barely noticed that he still had her in him arms if he hadn't seemed so worried about her, finding that it got less awkward the more times it happened. She still couldn't help the heat raising to her face, however. "You can put me down... I'll be fine."
"I'm glad...," she smiled reassuringly at him and shrugged, "Trust me, I've had worse. These will heal up quickly, I'm sure!" It was guaranteed that she would be sore the next day, but the stinging cuts didn't really bother her after she'd gotten used to deeper ones.

(( o: What class is that for? Are you going to college to be a doctor or something?
I think you're safe from him because you aren't plagued with the burden of Innocence... ))
"You were doing really well. Maybe you just bit off a little more than you could chew to start with."
He tried to reassure her again before blinking a her, finally realizing he was needlessly holding her. He set her down gently and straightened up. He dug into his pocket as she dismissed the cuts and bruises, pulling out a handkerchief.
"As little as they are...I wouldn't want to be the cause of more scars for you.."
It was the first time he had even come close to the topic of her scars, and he thought it was risky mentioning them, but he wanted her to know he was being sincere. Whatever it was that had caused the scars on her, he didn't want to add to her collection. He took the handkerchief and leaned in a little, hesitating as he raised it to her cheek. He avoided looking at her eyes and gently dabbed at one cut that had lanced her skin on her face, under her eye at the apple of her cheek.

(( No, I don't think I could handle being a doctor... XD I'm in the Heath Data Specialist program, which is really more computer work than anything.
That's true... But I still wish I could help...
Annnnd bedtime... orz Goodnight! <3 ))
"Yeah, maybe... I suppose this means we won't be climbing back up there for today," she tested, not sure if she even wanted to attempt it again. Once he'd set her down she assessed the damage, finding the small streams of blood made the cuts look a lot worse than they were. Her hand froze on it's way to wipe the blood from her cheek at the mention of her scars, and she slowly lowered back to her side as he wiped it up for her.
She wasn't quite sure what to say to the comment, nervous that he was close to broaching the subject, but also feeling strangely happy that he cared about them. Staying quiet for a few minutes, Kiah simply looked to the ground, as if lost in thought. "... It wasn't your fault...," she brought her gaze up to his face and smiled a little sadly before trying to brush the scars off like they were nothing, "Besides, what's a few more?"

(( Hi Liv! c: If you're still here.
Kiah: Oh. What exactly does a Health Data Specialist do? o:
Help with what? ))
"No, I think we should call it quits for now."
He continued to dab lightly at her cheek until most of the blood was gone, not wanting to wipe in case it stung. He could see the light mention of her scars already made her nervous, and he glanced at her eyes. Seeing them downcast made his heart sink a little in his chest, and it only continued as she looked up at him with a saddened smile. He stopped dabbing her cheek and stared at her, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. He stayed like that for a long moment before finally speaking up.
"I suppose you're right...and sometimes scars help make us who we are. I wouldn't want to change who you are now. But..I'm still going to make sure you don't get any more, so let's get back to the castle and patch up your cuts."
He straightened up and handed her the handkerchief so he could retrieve his katana from the nearby tree it was still leaning against. He also took her coat and hung it over his arm after attaching Mugen back to his hip. He joined her again and started walking with her back through the woods.

(( *Collapses on the couch*
Kanda: They basically set up computer networks, firewalls, protection, etc. in hospitals or other medical facilities in order to protect patient information and maintain Internet security. So it's pretty much computer programing, but for medical reasons. XD
Help you guys fight... ))
"Yeah, I guess you're right...," Kiah said with a small sigh, slightly disappointed in herself, especially because his answer had relieved her. She knew she could easily keep trying, but it might be better to give herself a little break after that fall.
Her eyes didn't leave his after she'd spoken, waiting to see what he would say in return. She'd shuffled a little nervously under his stare, finding that the longer he gave her that look, the more she wanted to deny that they bothered her. Though from the way she kept them hidden, she was sure it was very obvious. "Maybe that's the case, but... I think they're more like reminders of what you couldn't avoid or stop. Literally and figuratively," she attempted to joke, giving up when the tone come out forced.
"... Thank you...," Kiah grabbed the handkerchief with a grateful nod, wiping at a few cuts on her arm roughly while he grabbed their things, "Half of these probably won't even need bandages once they're washed, though." She proceeded to follow behind him, attempting to get as much blood as she could off of her skin while they walked.

-Livverz- Liv pursed her lips a little and was glad to hear Sil wasn't still thinking about cutting her hair. She briefly wondered when this 'change' she was talking about was, but let the thought slip away just as quickly as it had come. At Sil's mischievous smirk and commentary, she bristled and and shot Sil a warning look, declining to comment on the subject. Luci however was quick to pipe up and she looked at Sil with a slight tilt to her head, "The main character in a romance novel..? Like a story about falling in love~?" her eyes sparkled at the thought of such a fairytale. Her little mind hadn't made any kind of real connection yet, assuming this entire conversation was nothing but fun and games. She thought back to New Zealand again and continued to blab without a moment's hesitation, "Mommy would be the lovely Lady who got kidnapped~ That's what they said last time when we played pirates, on vacation!"Liv immediately let out a strangled noise at Luci's utterance, "No, that's not- we weren't playing pirates..."Luci was completely perplexed by Liv's odd behavior, but didn't bother to try and suss it out just then. Being in such company was far too distracting right now, and everything that got said left her memory within a minute. She turned her attention back to Sil and Lavi, and grinned at the sight of them next to each other. "You look cute together like that, even if you're a boy now, Miss Sil~" "You'll have to tell me the whole story of your pirate adventure sometime, Luci," Sil's eyes twinkled in just a way where Liv could likely tell she was rather pleased with the information given to her. Even though the little girl was the one talking, she was certainly smiling at Liv still in that knowing way. "And why a parrot? You didn't want to be his first mate?"
As for her teasing, Sil seemed rather unbothered by it and simply tipped her head back and laughed. Luci was a child, after all, whatever relationships she built in her head-- albeit true-- were just the tall tale of a girl. She tucked one of her arms through Lavi's and gave it a squeeze in a friendly fashion before releasing it again. "You know who would look cuter over here? You. I was just the second choice. Look how disappointed Lavi looks~ You broke his heart, just like the main character of a romance novel! How can he ever love again?"
-Livverz- "Well...first we're going to the infirmary. One of my dearest friends is there," Liv replied, offering nothing more than that. If Hyber was as bright as she seemed, she'd be able to guess they were going to see a doctor, but Liv wasn't going to outright say it just yet. It was only about a 5-minute walk to the medical wing, and Liv gently tugged Hyber inside the infirmary as she looked around for Mishka. Mishka Domashev was married... to his job. He spent more time in the infirmary than he did anywhere else, unsure of how he hadn't burnt himself out. It was where he felt most comfortable, where he liked to spend time talking with patients to help their road to recovery go a little smoother. Just as Liv had guessed, Mishka was in the infirmary, though it seemed to be a slow period in the day-- he was reading up on some medical articles in a book clearly written to please the Russian sensibilities.
As Liv entered the room, he glanced up from his book and felt his heart leap into his throat at the sight of her. However, the girl next to her stole his attention, noting that he had never met her before. She looked confused, that was for certain, and he wondered vaguely if she was another child Exorcist. "Miss Liv," Mishka smiled warmly, moving over to the pair in his easy gait. His accent was thick on his tongue, unable to quell his Russian language habits. "So generous, to bring more friends to me. I hope all is well?"
