LunaInverse It really took us by surprise. I mean, we had been having tornado watches all day, and every summer we get a few, but very rarely does it ever happen. And to have at least 2? We were very lucky the tornadoes were likely F1s or F2s, but even seeing the damage from the weakest kind of tornadoes is scary. A good chunk of our town is devastated, and several parts of Springfield, Wilbraham, Westfield, and Monson are destroyed. Next time a tornado watch flashes across my screen, I'll be taking it way more seriously. Do you guys have tornado sirens or anything? We have them, but whenever they go off, the whole COUNTY has them going off. So, a town 40 miles away could be getting a bad storm--and we're on the edge of the county so we might not see anything. We kind of have to flip back and forth from our county, and the neighboring Wisconsin counties. What I saw on the news of downtown Springfield was crazy. I mean, everything was just gone. It's weird for a tornado to hit a more populated area like that...they usually go through more open areas. Do you guys have power?

It's weird for a tornado to hit a more populated area like that...they usually go through more open areas. Do you guys have power? We don't get hit with tornadoes often enough to warrant tornado sirens. I think the last one to hit Springfield was back in 1992, or maybe 1995? I think what really saved a lot of people was that practically everyone has cell phones that send them weather reports, so people were able to get under cover. Not to mention anyone watching the news was sending out texts to friends and family about the tornado. Go social media! And we do have power. In spite of how close that tornado was to us, our lights only flickered a few times, but we never lost power. Heck, Stream, being a state employee and living in the affected area, got the day off from work. The governor basically said all non essential state employees from Western Mass were to stay home today. On a more positive note, Sunday is the LunaGator 1 year anniversary!

The Tornado didn't dare come close enough to threaten my lair. I've made my intolerance of weather shenanigans well known to Mother Nature. Thanks for your concern, though, Pi. On a totally hilarious note, the 'nado apparently touched down within a half-mile to a mile or so of Luna's dad's place, and he slept through the entire thing. Little Joey's either got some stones or coma-like napping habits. Oh, Kin (anyone else too, really, but especially Kin), check out this and this. I'm sure you'll like.

My fellow AGers! I have emerged from graduate school victorious, tattered History masters degree clutched tightly in my left hand.
Now that school responsibilities have been addressed, I am getting back into anime watching big time. I am downloading Madoka Magica because people are slobbering about it and from what clips I've seen it is definitely relevant to my interests.
That being said, I wish for those who are more anime-inclined to recommend me some additional anime from previous seasons. Just assume I haven't watched anything new since Clannad. Haha...
I pretty much enjoy everything except horror. Fire away my friends.

It goes a little bit sloww...but the ending is amazing. It's only 12 or 13 episodes I think.

I pretty much enjoy everything except horror. Fire away my friends. Lessee. Just off the top of my head... Kore wa Zombie desu. Despite its name and having a zombie for the main character, this is about as far from horror as one can get. Think raging insanity, plenty of cute females, and rampant male lead abuse. To Aru Majijutsu no Index (seasons 1 and 2) & To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (seasons 1 and 2) - I just finally got Kin to download and begin watching these, and he seems pretty pleased with em. Good stuff. If you grab it, remember that the order of things is Index season 1, Railgun (both seasons), and then Index season 2. You could probably get away with just watching both seasons of Index, since the Railgun series is based on books that are a spinoff series of the Index novels, but there will be a few references that make you scratch your head... and you'll be missing out on some hilarious s**t. Fairy Tail - One of the better long-running (52+ episodes... they're in their 80s now) series I've seen in the last few years. So far they've dealt with the shounen tropes of multiple 1 on 1 fights and fighting one's way through a group of badasses 1 by 1 without resorting to the usual tournament bullshit. The original story is by Hiro Mashima (creator of Rave Master), so you have a good idea what you're dealing with, though his art style has evolved quite a bit. Good cast, good story, good fun. Tiger & Bunny - Yeah, I know you're looking more for past season stuff, and this is the current season, but this is hands down the best goddamn show this season. With Xmen constantly dropping the ball and phoning s**t in I'm glad we have a superhero show with great animation, excellent artwork, great character designs, and a pretty kickass story so far. Seriously, watch the first two episodes no matter what and decide from there. I'm pretty sure you'll sign on for the rest of the ride. There's some other stuff, but I can't recall it just right now. I'll get back to you with some more when I can remember.

3.14 Streamjumper Zelyhon So, AG. It's Fanime time and things here are going well. Went to AMVs as always and there were some good ones. There was certainly enough to get me motivated to download a couple things to use as my study breaks while getting ready for the bar (if I can take any breaks when I'll be playing catch-up after this weekend. XD) I'll be asking for some recommendations from the past three years once I go through all the various single episodes I downloaded and seeing what I want more of. More importantly, though, I was working Swap Meet again and helping to keep order/making friends/etc. While working, I found something I just couldn't pass up. A 40 gb 360 of the type that's not supposed to red ring and is covered in case it does. For $80. Thus, I will now be able to join in AG online shenanigans soon! Awesome. Lemme know if you're looking for a list of games to get and what you're interested in. The biggest upcoming recommendation I have right now for immenent bro-op potential is Earth Defense Force: Alien Armageddon, which hits shelves July 5th for the cool price of $40 bucks new. Three-player online co-op against hordes of giant alien insects. Borderlands, Red Dead Redemption, and Saints Row 2 are also stong candidates for co-op mayhem for 16, 4, and 2 players respectively. Several of us also have Portal 2, if SCIENCE! is up your alley (and I know it is), and I should be able to chime in on how Hunted: Demon's Forge (fantasy third-person cover-shooter/hack-n-slash/rpg) is soon. Also, eyes need to be feasted on this: http://youtu.be/3XbfrJaZSM8And now, thanks to the genius of Cave Johnson, I officially CANNOT wait til the next time life gives me lemons.SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! Pi, are you space? There were several Space!! and combustible lemon shirts at Fanime, all of which were quite amusing. I ended up getting a shirt with the old-style Apeture Science logo on it and may have to order one of the others.
