Ah.
._.
Who's "U.S.S.R."? Wait. Has no one even done a private roleplay with the ancients? Like Ancient Greece, Roma, Germania, Mama Egypt. ;A ;

U.S.S.R???? You don't know that? It's the fancy name for Russia when he conquered the Baltics and -Some- of the middle east.

Me either until they showed the books in book club. She writes non-fictional books. Mostly about a teenage girl. In the book I'm reading, Lock and Key, the girl attempted to to runaway, but failed.
You see, it all starts when her mother disappeared for over a few months and she'd been living alone until the landlords found out and she was taken into social or child service [can't remember] and they stuck her with her sister that hates every inch of her. o:"
Mighty tough scolding she got from her sister.
Here's a piece from page 57 - 58.
It's when they were younger and their father left and their mother would stay up late drinking and stuff. I guess that's why Cora's so cold to her now. ;__;
"xxxOf course, I knew my mother was still coming toward me, but it was always Cora I kept my eyes on: her dark hair, the angles of her shoulder blades, the way, when things were really bad, she'd reach her hand back to find mine, closing her fingers around it. Then she'd just stand there, as my mother appeared, ready to take the brunt of whatever came next, like the bow of a boat crashing into a huge wave and breaking into nothing but water. xxxBecause of this, it was Cora who got the bulk of the stinging slaps, the two-hand pushes that sent her stumbling backward, the sudden, rough tugs on the arm that left red twisty welts and, later, bruises in the shape of fingertips. The transgressions were always hard to understand, and therefore even more difficult to avoid: we were up when we shouldn't have been, we were making too much noise, we provided the wrong answers to questions that seemed to have no right ones. When it was over, my mother would shake her head and leave us, returning to the couch or her bedroom, and I'd always look at Cora, waiting for her to decide what we should do next. More often than not, she'd just leave the room herself, wiping her eyes, and I'd fall in behind her, not talking but sticking very close, feeling safer if she was not just between me and my mom, but between me and the world in general."

Yeah... u__u I was surprised when I first read it... In one part, she mentions the ten year gape between her and her sister and wonders if she was a mistake or an attempt to save a marriage going downhill. ;o ; Seriously, her books are not just beautiful on the inside, but I love the covers~ <3 Here's the cover of my copy: And some random beetles holding hands~ <3
