Sorry I didn't get in the xbox party last night.

A Saturday that should have been "pretending to having fun at bridal shower then xbox for the night" turned into "pretending to have fun at a bridal shower, then dealing with my overreacting soon to be sister in law when a really old wall in their basement collapsed".

So we got home late and just watched Netflix for the night.

So, AGers with 360s, I'm looking in to finally getting one to join. Would I be okay with just the 4gb version or will that not be enough space for everything?

I'd strongly suggest either making plans to buy the 250 gig hard drive (99$) not too long after the system itself or just shelling out the extra 100 for one of the bundles that includes both the 250 gig drive and usually one or two games (one I'm seeing for the $299 pricepoint includes one of the Forza games and Alan Wake).

There are several reasons you're probably going to want the 250 gigs. One is reliability and system lifespan. When you install the games you're playing (most games are between 4 and 7 gig), they run smoother, load faster, put less wear on the disc drive, the system is quieter, and as a whole you generate less heat... which puts less strain on your xbox. The other is because my understanding is that you like long, involved games, which often have a fair amount of DLC... which requires hard drive space. Some DLC rate at 2-3 gig all by themselves, especially ones with a lot of music, dialogue, or video. Red Dead Redemption and Borderlands (by the way, everyone who doesn't own it... Gamestop is currently selling the GOTY edition for 19.99... the game and all $40 bucks of DLC) each have DLC libraries somewhat comparable to the size of the games they belong to... and Mass Effect 2, fully installed with all DLC is nearly 17 gig iirc.

Then there's the sweet, sweet library of Xbox Live Arcade games. Some of these bad boys pack a lot of action into 10-15 bucks and 2-3 gigs.

My guess is that you'll most likely be wanting 250 gigs pretty soon down the road, and scooping up a package that sweetens the 100 buck difference by tossing you 20-40 bucks of extras is probably the way to go. Plus it reduces the need to transfer your data from a 4 gb drive to a new 250.


But if money is the most serious factor here, then by all means get the drive later.

Been keeping an eye on Brink for a while, looks like it's mashup of Borderlands badassery with Mirror's Edge freerunning. Can't wait.

If you're returning MW2, might I suggest turning that 25$ into a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 1 and either Gears of War 1+2 or Left 4 Dead 1? I can strongly vouch for the fun of BC and GoW, and the bit I've played of L4D single player makes me wonder how a 4 man squad of AGers will deal with the zombie apocalypse... and the sweet allure of peels.
