"Right..." Although Sil had meant it in a teasing way, the statement bothered him and he looked away for a second to hide the frown that pulled on his lips. He didn't regret the choices he had made, but he hated knowing how disappointed his mentor would be in him for them. Liv admitting to the real reason behind her wonderful birthday party returned the smile to his face, though, and he turned his head back to the two girls. "Aha~ So it was the good doctor, after all."

Liv frowned a bit at Sil, "No, I will not help you pick out special clothes for meeting my parents. You'll be wearing whatever you normally wear. There's absolutely no reason to doll yourself up to make a good impression. Anyway, we can go today if you aren't busy. I haven't seen them for a few weeks."
She rolled her eyes a little as Sil spoke of girl language, though she rather agreed with the other young woman. Inflection did mean everything, which is the exact reason Sil had picked up on the manner in which Liv had used the word 'wonderful'. The moment the Italian got all fired up and filled with glee, Liv put her hands up to stop her in her tracks, "Woah woah woah...that doesn't mean he likes me, just because we danced and had a nice chat...I mean...we have spent time together more...sometimes we share lunch...but that still doesn't mean anything! Really, it means nothing...he's just a dear friend, and anyway, there's not a single reason he'd be interested in me for anything more. It's only because he didn't know anyone here yet, and I've you know, taken him under my wing and introduced him to everyone and...stop looking at me like that.."
She glanced at the two and the look she was receiving from each of them caused her to fidget in her seat. She stared down at her lap and played with her skirt some more, chewing her lip and actually thinking about what Sil said. It did seem from an outsider's perspective that Mishka had really taken to her, but surely that was only because she was a friend. She was just someone who had tried to make him feel more comfortable in his new home, and was patient enough with his slightly broken English to continue doing so. While it might have been easy for her to deny Mishka's feelings towards her, it wasn't nearly as easy to deny how she had begun to feel about him. She found herself passing the infirmary far more often than she used to, even going out of her way at times, taking a longer route just to stop in for a minute. The number of times she had taken him lunch was certainly starting to increase, and not just because she thought he should have the company and a good meal. To top it off, the feeling that had been left in her chest after their long slow dance was something she hadn't felt in a very, very long time. Despite her best efforts to ward off her feelings, she had become more than smitten with Dr. Mishka Domashev.
Looking at Lavi, she was relieved to see a smile instead of a scowl. He must not care too much about that promise anymore, or else he forgot about it entirely. Either way, she was glad to see both of her friends appeared excited, even if they were excited about something that was nothing, "..Yes..it was the good doctor...," she smiled again and tried to cover it, bringing her lightly closed fist up to her mouth and covering her lips with the backs of her fingers. "But it doesn't matter, alright? He's just my friend, and there's no way he feels the way you think he does...even if he did...I don't know..."

"I wouldn't get 'dolled up,'" Sil repeated, lifting one of her hands to make air quotes to emphasize how little she thought of herself and the term used in the same sentence. "I just... I don't know." A soft sigh left her lips, imagining what her own parents would think of her casual and at times boyish choice of dress. Her father certainly would have been put in the grave by the sight of his only daughter wearing trousers if he hadn't been put in by someone else. The idea of his daughter preferring trousers was multitudes worse, but they were much more comfortable. Luckily instead of arguing, she waa distracted by the timing. "Today?" She looked over at Lavi for a moment, mostly because she hoped to spend time with him after being gone for a while, but was met with the back of his head while he looked off elsewhere to avoid her catching his emotions. If she had to wait until evening than so be it-- evening was as good a time as ever and she missed Liv as well. Sil smiled, delighted. "Sure. Is Luci going to come as well?"
At the response to her implications about Mishka's feelings, Sil simply quirked an amused brow. "Sure, okay," she drawled. "Not like every man in this place hasn't been enamored with you at some time or another... Plus, last time I saw you together I didn't miss his goofy, smitten smile for a second. If you like him, he likes you and Luci, what's to lose?" Obviously she had not been clued in on Livs promise with Lavi, and Luci seemed fond enough of he doctor that she had no unease to impart.

The way Sil still talked as if it were just so simple made Liv sigh heavily, "...Lavi was never been enamored with me~ ...But it isn't that easy, Sil. I have everything to lose. It isn't just myself that I have to think about...I've discussed this with Lavi before. I have to think about Luci and what's best for her. I know it's been, goodness..eight months since she came here to live with me and since...I became a single parent. But I haven't even talked to Luci about the possibility of dating another man; A man that isn't her father. She's just a little girl, and how it would affect her is more important to me than anything. On top of that..." her eyebrows furrowed as she looked down again, "...I don't want to make the same mistake twice. I can't...I don't want to be with someone and put my entire heart into them, and have Luci put her heart into them...and end up left behind. Neither of us can be put on the back burner again. And there are even more reasons than those, so..it just isn't as simple as you say."
