Byakuran continued to try and focus, try, and keep his thoughts together even as he continued train himself passed an unbearable limit. But he still hadn't reached a point where he could go no further. He was still able to press on. He just had to try and concentrate his thoughts on things to keep himself going. Things that would enable him to press on. His face seemed to grow still, the sweat covering his strained body still continuing to increase even as he tried to focus his thoughts elsewhere. The future...the past, the present...
The Present. He'd focus on that for the moment. At present, he was faced with a rather precarious situation. As of yet, he hadn't been given his genin assignment, despite having earned the title. It might have been nothing, was probably nothing... but...there was always the chance that it was because they were watching him... because they already suspected...

If that was the case, then it was perhaps only a matter of time. Only a matter of time before they began to turn over the story of his founding a little too closely, and see the suspicious nature of said origin. The recent uprising of the Otobe to take over Oto was all the confirmation that they would need once discovering his own origin. He doubted that they would be forgiving...doubted that they would be lenient...
Although...
His eyes opened ever so slightly through the effort of his training. Yes... that would work. Probably, anyway. He was just a kid after all...a kid who, technically, had spent one year more of his life here in Kiri then he ever had with the Otobe. If that was the case, if they did look like they were in danger of discovering him...why not simply...confess. Rather, hand over all the information on the Otobe that he had. and agree to be a double agent for the Mist. He was certain that he could Muscle his contacts into the matter...after all, in addition to being in their good graces, they were also not exprienced ninja, and the minute they were found their only way to live would be to be spared. And better to take the chance to live with Kiri then simply side with the Otobe and die right away at Kiri's hands.

That would be a rather resplendent plan. In fact he wondered why on earth he hadn't thought of it earlier. A nice little fail safe if he was ever caught fulfilling his little family obligation. Obviously it would be far more apt towards his goals to merely stick out with his clan, but then if push came to shove...
He actually adapted a small smirk as he humored the idea. How marvelous. Here he had been feeling a bit trapped between two giants, but now came the simple revelation that he could merely play them against one another. He had to admit he DID find that quite preferable. He should look into being more cunning in his day to day activities. Surely he didn't shy away from lies and deception, but perhaps he should start more actively thinking of them as the tools of choice... yes...

Come to think of it, when was the last time that lying had actually NOT paid off for him? He thought back, able to quash back the exhaustion of his body as he powered on through it into his second wind.
Yes... intriguing, he couldn't actually think of a single time! Fascinating... throughout all the times that he had lied over the course of his life, it hadn't actually back fired on him even ONCE. Now that had to be some sort of record. He went over the course of his career in lying once more, trying in vain to pick out a situation that he might have missed. Hm... no, no he definitely couldn't think of a single one! Well that was just darned impressive. He actually, even amidst his struggle to endure his training, gave a strained chuckle. Now this couldn't be right...surely there had to be... ah.
He fell into a more subdued smile. Yes, there was ONE time that it had backfired...in a way, he supposed. But even so...that one time had been a bit of a...bizarre occurrence overall, so perhaps it didn't count as a rule of thumb...
Nothing, about THAT particular encounter had been what he would consider normal...

Tenko smiled as the mist began to clear. It was odd to see it so clear and not be inside a building. He took a deep breath in as he walked in deeper to the forest. He reached into his bag and pulled out the scroll he had just gotten. He looked it over with a smile but his smile became a grin that could have split his face in two. "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~ I FOUND IT I FOUND IT!~~~~~~" He jumped up and down while spinning around. He couldn't believe his luck. He had never thought it would be in a scroll. He began to calm down but his smile never left his face. He was just too excited to not. He found a stump a good few hundred yards from the start of the tree line. He was glad he always carried his little puppet with him now.
As he began to open up the scroll more it gave instructions on what it was like back in the olden days, hundreds of years ago. He was so shocked that there were people using puppets of five hundred years ago. He couldn't even fathom that they were still in use now a days. Then again. Jutsu's must have been a thousand years old at least, well some of them. He didn't really think about that. He just considered it part of the world. He knew new ones were being invented around the world. He was just so shocked that this jutsu was still around today and being used. He felt honored to begin the processes of learning an old jutsu like this one. He took a deep breath and let it float around in his head. He wondered if new puppets could beat older puppets. It seemed odd to him. But he just chose the side where it would depend on the skill of the user.
He continued to read and the further he had gotten the more interesting it was. He didn't know there was so much history about the jutsu. Well he never really thought about the jutsus to begin with. He just knew how to do some of them and saw what they were used for. He never really thought at all about the history. He was even more glad as it continued to tell a little about the basic puppet types. He wondered how many there were. The use for puppets were numerous as many as their were ideas about how to make puppets and the types. Thoughts spun around in his mind and weaved around one another giving more ideas and thoughts about what puppets could do. He felt like an idiot. All he did was play with a toy puppet. Some puppets could heal and help with wounds as must as the could kill people. He was worried about if he fought another "Puppet users" they were called, well one of many. Byakuran's closed entirely once more as he recalled that encounter...such...and odd individual...
The day had been a couple of years previous, Shortly after Kyojin Senpai had killed his teacher and left the village...not that anyone, Byakuran included, could really say he was all surprised by the defection.
He'd been attending the academy then, and was actually on his way to home to the Orphanage, his current lodgings not having provided to him at the time, when he, quite literally, which was odd for him as he generally heard and felt most people coming, bumped into someone in the middle of the market. It was crowded and he supposed that he could have easily stepped away into the crowd if he'd wished to avoid any confrontation, but to be perfectly honest he hadn't really been paying to close attention this day particular, having been puzzling over just why in the world Apples were the preferred gift for teachers, when historical, throughout cultures all over the world, they had been synonymous with ill wishes and poisons...
Well of course in hind sight the answer was obvious, but at the time he was quite earnestly puzzling over the matter... but he was getting off track. That was when he'd bumped into her...

"Hm?" Had been his reaction at the time, slightly pulled from deep pondering by the impact, only barely getting a glimpse at the person he'd bumped into before their rather bizarre hair color was glaring him in the face. Or at least, he ASSUMED it was a choice of hair color, because surely now one on earth could possibly be born with a natural hair color like that.
The Girl's hair had been white on top, like the color of freshly fallen snow, and as though the person dying her hair had changed their mind half way through, a deep scarlet on the bottom half, the color splitting perfectly evenly with the level of her eyes. Which, if he HAD to pick out something normal about the girl, were a rather unremarkable shade of green. That said, the color of her eyes WAS pretty much the only unremarkable thing about the girl. From he rather bizaare choice of clothing, which looked very much like she'd merely had what humans dressed like explained to her vaguely, before trying to replicate it herself, to her rather large shoes which looked very much like they were three sizes to large for her feet, the girl was, in a word, odd.
Now being odd himself, and having a rather open sense of intrigue about these things, this probably wouldn't have bothered him all that much... if the girl had not immediately clasped his hand in a hand shake, rattling him in a rather casual manner with an almost unnatural sense of perky cheer... Needless to say, Byakuran was positively bewildered.

"Hiya!" The girl exclaimed still with an all to pleased disposition. " Nice to meet you!" Byakuran didn't really understand what this girl was so happy about. In his exprience people didn't normally like it they were bumped into...this girl was treating it as though he'd done her some sort of service...
"Hello." he said, none the less smiling in his own usually subdued way. "Technically, one normally saves that particular phrase until after they'd exchanged their names." he supplied as though being helpful.
"Oh yeah?" the rather cheerful girl asked in a rather blunt manner. "Huh, okiedokie. Thanks for the pointer there......huh, yeah I can see where your going with this whole name first thing, kay." the girl pointed to herself in a rather nonchalant manner. "Umm, I guess you'd call me Tori. Yep. That's it. Tori. My name, which I didn't make up just now." she assured in an all to jovial manner that managed to be SO unconvincing, and yet at the same time Byakuran was actually sure she wasn't joking either.
Which meant one of the three things. One, this girl thought he was idiot, two, she was an idiot, or three, this girl was completely out of her mind. The answer was really up in air, looking back, but he was probably going to go with a bit of all three...

Tenko took a deep breath in as his head started to pulse in the same rhythm as his heart. He started to feel light headed but he put it to the back of his mind. He was still way to happy to have finally found it. The scroll told about the three main types. Offensive. Which had amazing strength but sadly lacked movement skill. He assumed that the point was to give up evasion for increased damage to end the fight quickly. He worried and felt his arm twinge where Karasu had kicked him. He imagined the puppet would probably hit harder than that. He winced as his body still remembered the impact it had felt recently. "I'd hate to be hit with one of those...."
He continued and took a deep breath. He kept reading. It was either You make the thing sturdy and strong or fast and strong. 'Scary...' The other type, as he read on. Was Defensive. He relied heavily on sturdy structure . It suggested that you use and make it just as Mobile. It said that it would need to take heavy and could even grab you and move you away if you made it mobile enough. He wondered what it would be like to ride a puppet. He supposed it wouldn't be that hard. After all it was very simple construct. Well as far as on paper went it could easily carry you around if need be. He sighed at the thought. 'Wouldn't that be nice?'[/i[ He thought to himself. He wouldn't really have to walk any where he would just have to work up his chakra more so he could use more and more and more of it. He hoped he wasn't going to be pushing himself too far. Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppet Technique) Stage I: Puppet Play DC 15 Familiarisation with the art of puppetry. After a while it seemed to slow down and eventually fade away. At least whatever, or whoever, it was, seems to be gone now. He gave a sigh of relief and clicked the blade back into its scabbard. With the grove now quiet, it was easier to relax. He wanted to get his job done, however, if he strained himself too much and someone did really attack him, he would be dead before he knew it. Then again, who would attack him?
With his luck, someone would and then what would happen? Mizuiro would be the only one on his team, his mother would be left alone, and his life would be short lived without fulfilling his dream. Who would bring honor to the clan? He couldn't leave it to a member of the branch family and make the main family look bad. It could even be a ticket into the head family, though he highly doubted it.
He wasn't sure he wanted into the head family. Everyone seemed too proper and any wrong thing was either thrown under the rug, or severely punished. He never heard of anyone doing anything wrong, and he was sure the fear prevented it. There was no one at the compound belonging to the head family to even appoint anyone else into the head family. They were either slaughtered or barely escaped when Water Mistress took over, but that was nothing to worry about anymore.
He heard someone yell into the grove. They didn't seemed concerned with keeping themselves quiet. He decided to check it out and see who it was. He walked past trees, not really caring to get the jump on anyone, though he kept a hand on his hilt, which seemed to be his new pose. When he made it to the clearing he came across Tenko.
"Ah, I see you made through a day at the academy. How's it going?" He was tired of being alone and thought it better to have someone to talk to. Besides, he could always try to help the kid. It would be his first step to being like the other genin which he hoped to be like. At the reminder he checked his 'armband' to make sure it was tight enough. "What are you working on that has you so excited?"

((I'd chat too... xd But Byaku's kinda in the zoooooone man. xd Still, when I finish with my training I was gonna go bust up a gambling parlor by sneaking in while disguised and taking out the top players and partners without alerting the chuunin guard, you guys want in on that mission? Byaku's gotta make some friends, after all.))
That being what it was, Byakuran decided that since it was probably at least ONE of the three, the most advisable course of action at the moment was to play along. "I see. Nice to meet you Tori-san." he'd not yet adapted his habit of addressing most everyone with the "chan" suffix, as of yet. "I'm Byakuran Usotsuki."
"Awesome!" the girl said, patting him on the shoulder just a little too hard. "Say, Bya or whatever, you know where I can find some fish around here?"
Byakuran merely blinked, looked over to the nearest cart to them, which was loaded full of fish, looked back to the girl, and pointed.
"Nah. nah, I meant like, in the wild. I kinda don't have anything you'd call money...heh. Guess that just kinda happens huh?"
Byakuran blinked once again. He was now leaning towards the girl being completely insane. "Yes, I suppose it does at that." he agreed, looking at the girl as though she was a fascinating item for research that he'd never seen the like of before. "Are you obtuse intentionally, or are you insane...?" he asked completely blank faced, the only thing in his tone curiousty.
"Huh...I never really thought about it...kinda both I guess?" the girl admitted cratching the back of her head thoughtfully, looking rather care free at the question.
"Hmmm....fascinating..."

Byakuran had to admit, he often considered his own behavior far more normal when compared to oddities of the society, this COULDN'T just be him. It COULDN'T. This girl was quite possibly the most bizarre THING, let alone person, that he had ever come across, that was even including that one time he'd been diving outside the village and come across a sea sponge...just...what in the world...?
"Why are you lookin at me like I'm on fire...?" The girl inquired, both of them now at the edge of one of Kiri's docks, a makeshift fishing pole in the girl's hands.
Byakuran found two things odd about even that one sentence. One, it was a rather odd comparison to draw up in the first place, secondly the expression that he had on his face was one of ponderous consideration, which did not in any way translate into how he would look at someone who was on....how MOST people would look at someone who was on fire.
"Do you desire an honest assessment...?" He inquired with a raised brow.
"Ummm....yeah, I guess so."
Byakuran nodded evenly, remarking earnestly. "You're hair is sytled slightly like a water fowl's head, you're behavior is rather alien, you're shoes are too big, that strange vest attached to your suspenders looks like someone-" and he went on for quite a while numerically listing off all the various things that were strange about this girl...tactless perhaps, but she HAD said she wanted an honest assessment.

Tenko looked at Tenshi and smiled. "I found it I REALLY found it, and in the library too. The lady made me worried like she wouldn't let me check out the scroll. Actually I just figured I could learn how to walk on water or up walls, and trees. But instead I found this." He held up the scroll and smiled. "It has sooo many different ideas in here about what to do with each Jutsu and what the best way to use each would be." He didn't know why Tenshi was there but he was shocked to say the least. He tried to go back to reading but he couldn't help the new found energy when he saw Tenshi. He seemed like a nice enough person to him but he still frowned at the fact that he had used a puppet to practice his jutsu on.
He rolled his shoulders and felt renewed. He tried to look at the scroll but his eyes kept sliding off of the page. He tried to focus but like before it kept scrolling down the page. Not able to fix on one particular thing he took a deep breath and smiled. He wasn't going to be out done by a scroll. He knew a lot about puppets by making normal ones but the these were on a completely different scale. He felt like he was going to be run over if he didn't simply breath and calm himself. He was young and wanted to learn everything but he couldn't believe how much information there was. He was worried he wouldn't be able to get it. He was on the verge of going crazy but he took off his button up shirt and felt relieved to be in his vest. He didn't like people staring at the scars on his hand but he didn't really care. He knew Tenshi was a Genin. The way he acted before during the raid proved it. Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppet Technique) Stage I: Puppet Play DC 15 Familiarisation with the art of puppetry. Tenko smiled and looked at Tenshi. "It's the start of the puppet jutsu. So I'm studying up." He looked back down at the as he started to read. He felt a lot better. He didn't know what to do but the words slowly made sense to him. He realized what he was looking at and smiled. They were parts of how to learn how to make his own puppet. He was so eager he nearly wanted to run off and try to make one but he didn't have the slightest idea about what to do or where to go. He took a deep breath relieved that he was going to learn something he had always been interested in. It felt like he greatest luck in the world. He was sooo happy he could barely stand it.
He wondered if he could make a flying puppet. Now THAT would be a sight to see. Just flying in the air, swooping down. All the loops and spirals. He was nearly giddy to learn all he could from this scroll. He kept on reading. It seemed that once you learned the jutsu, a whole other list of jutsu's became available to use and learn. One even talked about taking control of people and making them your puppet against their will. He couldn't believe all the things that came from learning this jutsu. It was like a road was beginning to open up if front of him. He didn't know what to do but he just smiled and continued to read the scroll and the information written. He loved this fact almost more than anything. He would definitely need to thank the library lady for allowing him to check it out. He was soooo please with her. He wondered if he should explain was he was reading and what the puppet jutsu lead to. It was simply amazing. "-ou smell like wet feathers, your heart beats to fast for an ordinary human, your chakra feels funny, you're going by a fake name, your breathe like someone who's used to much smaller lungs, and you walk like a duck." the list ended rather abruptly, Byakuran looking completely straight faced as he finished, still stroking his chin in his pensive manner.
Tori blinked a few times, her eyes wide and almost midly impressed by the rather long list, her face completely mellow as she tilted her head at him. "Huh... kay." she said in a rather accepting manner, as though he'd merely answered he relatively simple question. "Wow, I thought humans were supposed to be stupid or something...you're pretty on the ball huh?"
Byakuran lifted an eyebrow. "Hm...?"
The girl kicked her feet bemusedly before looking up with a sudden excitement. "Hey, Bya-orwhatever," she addressed, as though the latter was an actual suffix. "Do you want to be really really strong so you can kill a whole lot of people...?"
Byakuran's face turned into a look of surprise. The girl didn't look that much older then he did, and was just turning ten. That seemed a rather odd question for someone of that age to pose... "No." he lied completely straight faced, his rather mechnical response to keeping up a good front kicking in. Technically he DID want to become ridiculously powerful so he could just destroy his entire clan single handedly...but really, answering yes like that would be rather unsettling...then again ASKING the question was unsettling in the first place...hm...
"Heh, heh," the girl laughed. "You're lying huh?"
Again, Byakuran merely looked slightly astounded byt the turn of events.
