ugh. freshman who cant play. domokun its pissing me off. no matter how i or the other sax players try to explain it it wont get through their head. and advice?

Remember to try to be nice! You were once a freshie too. biggrin
Have lots of sectionals, either with the whole section or just them.
If nothing else, give them the bottom part and ask'em to practice.

but when i was a freshman i actually listened. and they already have the bottem part and they say they practice. im trying very hard to be patient. oh and im going to kill my entire brass section other than 3 people cuz they sound like a goose getting strangled.

I don't like being a freshman... xd My spot in the marching show is behind a percussion person for the first 4 or 5 sets, but we don't practice with them. So basically I'm learning to march without knowing where to go. D: I'm out of formation a lot. The other freshman is behind our section leader, so she's doing pretty well. Me...not so much. >_< At least I can play the music, though.

music is easy to get down and once you do it enough times so is the formations. anyone else other than me hate thier music for thier show.

saxfanatic0730 It's ok. you'll learn. If you can play the music, your sl will notice I have the music down fine, and I'm pretty sure he's noticed. He gave me first part for the last part of the show, which is a little harder. (We just got it on the last day of mini-camp, and it's only the partial version, but I've already memorized it...>_> I feel weird, but accomplished. xd ) I don't know about anyone else, but I love the music for my show. It's Arabian and awesome. cool

summer band has started back at my school and the alto sax music is really hard. the good news is that im the 3rd best alto player in the school now =D so i have to help the freshman people now. oh and im only a 10th grader lol

Im in tennessee and our music is south weastern so its rocky top and sweet home alabama and stuff like that. its to boring and easy. I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For our parades, all we played was Battle Hymn. It was so easy. We were gonna play this pretty sweet latin tune, but then our douche of a band director said "Let's not" and so we got stuck with Battle Hymn again. He angers us. I wish we had a marching show for band. crying

Summer band will start for us in a couple of weeks. Most of the freshmen are ok, but others... *shudders* I do NOT like the idea of being on a bus with them.

I'm in florida and our band director is gay seriously he is we hate him but we win champion ships because of him so we deal with it

Then I'd suggest saying "stupid" or "Republican". Perfectly acceptable words for that. (And to any republicans offended...sorry. xd I just had to say it.) Jeez, I haven't practiced my sax in a week because I'm on the west coast. xd I'm gonna suck on Monday when band camp starts...plus I'll be dead from the two flights we have to take to get home. Fun fun. xd I'll probably be the living dead.
