Trei_Shouri Omi... you are one bored little soul with alot of time on your hands.
Why is this time not being used to open up bRO? Hmm, hmm? I need a new place to play, that's not inflated like a blimp and saddeningly easy when it comes to getting MVP cards and the like... xd xd xd OBJECTION - a bored TALL SOUL! /!
And, actually, I've been working on ORO [renamed,] been testing it out on XAMPP MySQL Software. As well as registering my new domain, 2 TB bandwith webhost, messing with 5+ other miscellaneous little projects, posting here, wrapping up with finals for my first semester at school, and finding time to work out, get some good running in despite shin splints which be annoyin', screw around on the internet, THEN FALL UNCONSCIOUS IN BED SIR!
Patience. XD
I agree with you though - whilst working on my own server, I've played on gRO [got Ragnarok Online?]. I'd say, it's the best low rate server I'm gonna find after quite some browsing, though even it has some significant problems. And plus, I hate the 'vanilla RO' feel to it, if you will.
But, just to satiate you sir?
Picture a Chrono Trigger 'Wind' remix being used in game. Then, picture an event around the summer time, which involves a small war between the Baron of Payon & Lord Tristan of Prontera - which causes minor to extreme changes to town appearances temporarily, custom mobs to occasionally strike which resemble soldiers, and areas that can at whim become PvP.
Picture.. a :Flex: emoticon.
That one's not necessary. But I'm definetely pushing for it. :Flex:

xd A flexing frog emote, you say? That, sir, is unthinkably cool.
Personally, I'm still on Anima RO for now... got myself an Emp and a lv. 70 bard (I reset him and levelled him right this time, got him there in 2 days.), but am too lazy to even think of starting a guild. Saw gRO on one of the lists, I think, but figured I'd stick around until my friends guild split up.
Which it just did.
Anyways, not so much impatience as fuggin' with ya. We're all busy fall semester... for some reason, it just kicks everyone's a**.

And I know, but you know, if you think you're the only person who's ever inquired about progress over things..
"HEY KELL, IS ORO UP YET!?"
"hey omi, how's rm?"
"WHERE IS RM!?"
"WHERE IS RM!?!!!"
"oooomfg were oro"
"[Whips out a knife.] Puto, I want ORO! I CUT YOU!"
XP The thing is, I can release anything I'm making quick. But, then it wouldn't be on a proper quality level. And that'd just be wankeh'. Besides, I'm trying to truly make ORO.. 99% different from most any other private server, since I don't want players to come here, and think it as "another private server, different rates".
And I think Fall/Winter are designed to rape our minds. domokun
Oh, my Stalker's 97/64. Just got him some bitchin' boots set up today, +5 Valkryie's Boots of Hermes. Working towards the coveted Rudra Bow.
150 base attack. Holy property. +5 Int. Use of Cure & Heal level 1. 50% resistance to 5 status effects.

aRO's a decent server, but their use of MVP cards as rewards for donations kills things, ya know? The GM team is pretty on-the-ball, though, and they try to help us out as much as they can. I just don't like the fact that anybody can come in, fill out a couple of online surveys for "ad credit," then pimp out before they even start playing.
Besides, all the shortcuts are there; warp girl (which I like >.>), stat/skill resetter, novice shop, etc. This is both good and bad, ya know?
Also; you get those items yourself, or is there some system you go through on your server?

Ahr. We have donation rewards too, though it's in flat zeny in a drawing - and while quite a bit, it's not too much.
And get those items ourselves. =P Markets' convulsed as Hell at times though, I swear. I remember joining, and seeing Dragon Slaying blades for like, 20 mill.
Now, I can buy one for 1 mill.
Alternatively: Rudra Bow, 20 mill, materials for it's quest're probably worth about that much total. Now? People overprice it like crazy - "S> RUDRA BOW 300 MILL LOLOLOL".
I agree, though: Warp Girl, Stat/Skill reset, etc. has bad elements - but if worked with well, I see no problems with them. But, I will say: gRO WoE sucks a**. Too many guild alliances, you'll get monopolies on it. =P PvP there's just awesome though. I'm an Int-Dex build stalker with high flee; I've become a master at Soul Breaker/Backsliding & timing the 10 cell cast range up [thanks to Vulture's Eye which does effect SB's range * .5], though it's disadvantage is the cast delay. Cast time itself though? With the DEX, low as Hell.
My big issue with gRO, is that Transcendents can hit jLVL 90. Sounds great, right? Thing is, the job tables were different at one time - easier to level. Now, to put it into perspective: A level 1 Novice kills a Lunatic, they may get a base level & a half-ish.. but perhaps.. 10% job.
Once you're around 70+, it's paaaainful. Yet, characters that got those job levels in the older/easier days? Didn't get reset. And while it's not a big deal on Lord Knights [an LK jLVL 70 isn't going to really do worse than a 90, because at 70, you've really got all you need to be effective-] but, take a class like.. Stalker.
I need to be at 71 to have both Vulture's Eye, Soul Breaker [thanks to the skill requirements for Preserve/Plagiarism], and Full Divest. [That's just gonna be horrible for everyone, when that day comes. XD]
Stalkers with that extra 19 points, however, get to nab things like Counter Instinct & maxed Chase Walk/Tunnel Drive. Counter Instinct's a beast, too; especially in PvM. It, combined with high flee & mild vit, can make a Stalker become a tanking monster.

themightyjello Shagrath the Unholy He moved with demonic speed as if teleporting Oh snap! Shagrath the Unholy He came up with a small pinging sound right infront of Trei in the air with that right arm shooting out at such speed it was nearly impossible to hope a lucky dodge. Oh snap x2! Shagrath the Unholy Eyes boring into his, telling him it was over now. It seems like Shagrath was right. LAWL. GTB's DQ by willingful teleportation and failure to roleplay #8941025

Past decision by GTB judge TheMightyJello states that motion of the full body at speeds beyond that which causes one to blur to standard human vision are to be considered instances of teleportation. Correct me if this is incorrect. Telling someone, "you are hit" is autohitting, though most do it expecting an interrupt, though it's more in attitude than fact here. Shagrath the Unholy He came up with a small pinging sound right infront of Trei in the air with that right arm shooting out at such speed it was nearly impossible to hope a lucky dodge. I didn't read the post, but saying it seems to say "I appear out of nowhere in front of you" is pretty much teleportation, in effect if not in actuality, which would stand as justification for forementioned judge decision. Check out TMJ's attitude on the deal. Does it sound like he popped into the match to say "keep up the good work"? But no, he hasn't closed it yet, so it might just be a warning. I dunno, I haven't asked him. surprised
