That wasn't really an answer now was it? Finishing up the dishes, she cleaned Kelligrin up from his crumbs and set him back in the playpen where she knew he couldn't get into any trouble. The floor was almost completely clean but first she wanted answers. Retaking her spot and picking up her sponge, she began to claw at the grout that had worked it's way between the smooth edges. "I assumed you had work or something to do. That is until Zykariel came to me all upset. He told me you were gone and he wasn't sure if you were coming back. But he wouldn't tell me why you chose to leave, and I have to admit, Sevilin, I've been puzzling over that ever since."
Before his mother could remove him and wash him up, he reached out and caught his father's hand from it's familiar place in his hair. Hugging the appendage to his chest in childlike mirth, he grinned. "Yeah-huh, Daddy! Kariel missed Daddy! Lots!" And thus, it was back off to his playpen where he paid more attention to his parents than to his toys.

“Doubt it, Kelligrin.” But he let the boy have his hand until his mother saw fit to put him back in the playpen and then it was back to cleaning for her. Well what was he supposed to indulge in to keep his mind off his oldest if she was doing his usual things? “I’d always come back.” At least if he was asked to and she had wanted him back so here he was. “We exchanged some words, and I needed some time to think and obtain the proper answers to everything said words raised.” Sighing and watching her again. “Going to leave anything for me to clean?”

So he said but she knew how flimsy a promise made in the Underdark was. Even if he was a powerhouse magic-wise and knew a type of magic that no one else did. "Took you four and a half days? You could have talked to me about it. Told me your plans." Shaking her head and scrubbing harder then turning and tossing the rag at him. It was a simple matter to reach into the bucket and pull out another rag, beginning to scrub the same spot she'd been working on a moment ago. "I've got a quarter of the floor left."

Oh nice...she had shut down on him. He idn't even catch the rag, merely let it smack into his chest and watched it fall to the floor in a wet dirty pile of itself. "Happened a bit suddenly...and the subject matter is something I promised you I'd never do to you. I'm not going to make you choose between me and Zykariel." Shaking his head. "There was no plan, just temporary solution." Which was gone now and all he could do was prepare himself for when him and his son did cross paths once more. "I'll let you finish." Because obvioulsy she was upset with him and there was no reason to keep her thus. Thus a pivot on his boot heel and he moved from the kitchen with a pat to Kelligrin's head in passing. Supposed he better make friends with the evil couch again. They were starting to get used to each other and he didn't like that.

The wet slop rang in her ears compounded by the clatter of his boots on the stone. He walked right past her and said nothing more and he was just going to leave it at that. She sank into a dejected pile of herself and shook her head, willing herself not to cry. Why couldn't those two just get along? Why was her son pushing subjects he shouldn't be? And why was nobody but Kelligrin talking to her? Gods, she missed her girls. So much.
She finished cleaning every inch of the downstairs before she'd worked herself up enough to go find him and retain some other emotion besides hurt. Stomping into the library, she yanked the book he was reading away and glared at him. "Tell me you were an insensitive a**."

"I'm an insensitive a**. I'll readily admit to that as it seems to be the consensus of the last week or so." She could yell at him all she wanted and he probably deserved it. But he knew that she was feeling perhaps worse than he was and she was making no show of hiding such things from bonds. Standing up he framed her face with his hands, brushing his thumbs over her cheeks as he watched her a moment before giving her one of those sighs that said it was best if he let whatever was bothering him go...despite how he may not want to and make things right. "Listen...you can't fix it this time. Let it pass, I am...there's no reason to make you feel miserable just because I do." Perhaps he'd had his turn with Zykariel and now this was just a way that it was going to be all hers.

"Not are, was. There's a difference." Sighing and tossing the book back on the couch as he stood up and gave her a bit but not nearly enough. She closed her eyes in resignation, then wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled her body close to his, resting her cheek against his chest. "I don't like it when my family is upset and I really don't like going to bed alone." She didn't like knowing he was giving up on it but, if her son's reactions were anything to go by, there wasn't much more he could do. There might be something more she could though... "Just promise me you won't do that to me again. I don't care if you need some time to cool down or gather your thoughts but two, three, or four days is too much time. At least without letting me know. I worry about you and you hate it when I cry. Besides, it's not good for the baby."

And he wrapped his arms around her comfortingly as she leaned into him, seeking her own comfort that was needed from his own actions. My my he just weaved his web all the more tangled. "Promise...you know me. I've always made rather odd decisions. If it makes you feel better...I was having Nym keep track of things the whole time." Shaking his head then, "And no, it's not...but neither is cleaning on your hands and knees on the floor and such."

Much, much, much better. She reveled in it, holding him tightly and breathing in his familiar scent that she had so desperately missed. Things just weren't the same when he wasn't around. She wasn't as happy and hard to motivate. "I know. He often made his presence known when he felt I should be up doing something." She frowned. Was that a gentle rebuke? "Well, strictly speaking, the baby is no bigger than a blueberry so my cleaning in any position doesn't really disturb it."

"Blueberry or not, one wrong move from you to cause a shock to that area and things would not be so well. You know that." In with the chastising but gently as he usally did with her. He was right and he knew it anyway. Brushing a hand through her hair, "I suppose this means I'm not banished to the evil couch. I was afraid that the two of us were getting too comfortable for each other."

Now that she couldn't really argue with it because they both knew how delicate that blueberry was. "I'm careful." And she was, even when she had wine she'd only had half a glass and thrown it up shortly after anyway. The stress was a much bigger factor but arguing with him was silly when they were both right. "Don't be silly. You haven't been in bed with me for four nights. Why would I keep you out intentionally?" Lifting on her tiptoes and wrapping her arms around his neck then pressing her lips to his and teasing him with the kind of kiss he really liked.

"Because you like to irritate me when you think I deserve to be so." He blinked stupidly for a few seconds as she kissed him, not quite sure why he was desreving of such actions but thought it better to return the favor rather than just stand there and make her angry at him all over again. A grin at her though and he ran his hands up her arms, giving her somewhat of a smile despite all the bad that still made the house seem a bit stifling. It was more for her than for how he was feeling, but it didn't matter. "Will very much enjoy said place though...trees and the like aren't good either." And while rest may not entirely be in the minds of all...he could use some. Hell, he had a home to start remodeling in the coming weeks and then there were Malik's odd projects too.

"And you deserve to be but my needs come first and I want you in bed with me." He wasn't fully into it but he wasn't completely faking either. She knew he still desired her but she also knew that emotional issues could put a major damper on any mood. Twining her fingers with his, she led him out, noting with satisfaction that Kelligrin was in reverie in his playpen and tucked herself closer to his side. "Let's take a nap. Everyone else in the house is and I'm tired." Picking up their youngest to transfer him to his crib and heading upstairs. She really just wanted his body next to hers.
During the course of that night, Zykariel finally roused from his overly long reverie and took his post back up until he awoke fully and his bonds informed him that his father was back on his radar. Not caring what anybody thought, he was up in an instant, performing a full search of the house which finally led him to his parents' room. Was that mound in the bed his father? There was only one and it appeared bigger than his mother's smaller form would be. Closer examination proved, yes, indeed it was. Which meant his mother was probably in the nursery with Kelligrin, most likely in reverie in the rocking chair next to the crib. She'd always hovered when one of them had trouble falling into reverie. He was so relieved to see his dad that he crawled into bed next to him and settled down. There wouldn't be any reverie for him but he wanted to assure himself that his dad was indeed there.

It was good to be home, he'd admit that much though he still had no idea what he was to do about his eldest son. Perhaps there wasn't much more that he could do and he would just have to...back off or give in he supposed. Maybe if he honestly showed some interest in Kelligrin's racing thing...but it was so hard. Yes he was proud of the boy for it but he still had his own opinion. He woke startled, as he usually did when things were on his mind and his head liked to make him think things that were better not thought of. A blink though as he looked to his side to see not his wife there...but his oldest son. Well...it had been years since the boy had crawled into the bed. Usually it took something to upset him a great deal.

The changing of the light patterns along the wall and windows signaled him that it was probably time to go. He rolled to his side, slowly, slipping out of bed with utmost care. Wouldn't do to wake Dad up and ma- Oh look, he was already up. "Umm...you were making strange noises. I wanted to make sure you were okay..." Lame. Yup, but there wasn't really anything else he could say without seeming completely uncool and babyish.
