Miracles. He supposed that if someone had outright asked him if he believed in miracles, he probably would have said no. He believed in unusual occurrences. Chance, against the odds long shots, but he wouldn't really go so far as to call such things miracles. Miracles suggested that the heavens themselves had had something to do with it. That the heavens had somehow reached down and affected the outcome directly, as though were a part of some grand design. and Byakuran didn't believe in such things. He strove to see the nautral order of the world around him, and believing that some hand from above had somehow forced an outcome, rather then the hands of man, or the forces of nature, it just didn't add up. He did believe that a higher power might exist up their somewhere...but he didn't believe that they would need to interfere there design...

After all, what would be the point? Wouldn't that take just as much meaning away from the world as add it? Wasn't it better for a world to b e real, to be free, to be governed under it's own power, then to be the subject of it's creator? and artist, once he had completed a work, did not keep returning to it to change it for the better, he placed it in a frame, and admired his work for what it was... and if indeed the work was perfect, then it needed no such changing, needed no such amendments. If indeed this higher power needed to keep interfering with the world it had created...then did that mean that it itself wasn't perfect...? But at the same time when things seemed to wor out just right...when everything seemed to line up and a brief glimpse of a higher order became visible...a glimpse of a design grander then any conceivable by man... at such times Byakuran did wonder, if perhaps the miracles themselves were the result of that original perfect order...if everything that this world was, sometimes worked out just right, at the right time...

Maybe that was a miracle...maybe this training of his, was one of those times.

The sound wavesw continued to hammer at his muscles, enhancing his body through sheer force as he continued to struggle with himself, sweat forming on his brow now. He was not even close to being finished, this was only the start. this was nothing more then a quarter of what he was capable of! He could...would, do far more then this before he was finished. He was going to increase his limits far beyond what he imagined that morning they could be. His mediocre physique would be a deceptive cover concealing a for more reinforced defense. He would be able t endure the jutsu... and then he'd have a ready and able weapon, as opposed to the mere diversions and disguises that he could use now. True he hadn't been unskilled for a genin before this, especially a fresh one, but he was intent to be more the a mere average student. He was going to far surpass any others in his class. He knew that the Genin team he was likely to be placed with would be more exprienced then he, would probably be stronger, but there was no way that was going to stand in his way.

He was going to push passed any and all rivals, stretch his limits passed those of the instructors at the academy who up until this point had taught him practically everything he knew. Push pass the limits of his clan itself, of his brother and their father and even the Clan head and his son. All of this would fall before his potential... he would see to it... he had to. If he ever wanted to live a free life, if he ever wanted to be able to truly be happy and content...he had no other choice. Power was the only way to secure happiness in this world. That was an undeniable truth... it...it was.

Byakuran pressed his body even further, his eyes tightly shut against the conflict within. He would endure... he would out last... because that...was the only way that he would ever find happiness...

He wondered if this was what it was like for all those great ninja who had trained themselves up from mere children. Had they had moments like this were they finally had made up their minds to push themselves well and passed their limits? Convicted themselves to a path few would even consider? Was this what it meant to excel? It took a little bit of madness, that was true, a touch of madness, and just as much ability and luck. This was the labor of one who one was mad enough to push themselves where so few would dare to tread, well beyond what was expected. Yes... This was what it felt like to be just a little mad... but in the end it would be that touch of madness that led him to his goal, that extra push of insanity that aided him in achieving his ends that much faster, that much more efficiently...

It was strange, he could almost feel the new tiers of strength coming now, as though he was getting a feel for his progress. He was getting a measure on just how far he had come, and what was more how far he had to go. He was approaching yet another level...a whole other plateau of endurance... it would get more exhausting from here on out, more trying, but he would not surrender. Being able to feel the next tier coming, being able to track his progress from within, it was encouraging, it was pushing him on. when the light at the end of the tunnel was there the tunnel seemed that much shorter. Just a little further, just a little further. And each time it was always just a little further. And each time he made it, it made him that much more determined to reach the next... he was going to succeed... in his heart... it was like he had already succeeded.

He'd always been a little frail and thin of frame. It was something that he had taken great strides to get around, to compensate for. He'd focused on his speed, his studies, his ability to sway others, and even his chakra. He'd done much in order to avoid having to face the weakness of his thing musculature system...but all that time it had been a waste! He didn't need to hide from his weaknessnes, he could enhance them! He could make them his strengths! When he was finished with this bout of training and he had finished mastering the minor vibration, he return to working on his chakra yes, so that he could also master more advanced jutsu, but he was also determined to find a new weapon to wield. Something close range that he could use to take advantage of his more durable frame.

The Minor vibration would be a useful tool, to be sure. but there was also the the fact that he was going to be mastering a far more powerful jutsu soon after that. With this training he would no doubt gain much experience...the sheer level that he was pushing himself teaching him in the hardest of ways. He was so much about himself and even the way that his body was being put through the ringer his mind was seeming more and more clear on so many things. He was not just going to master the minor vibration...when he was done he would even attempt the Shock wave...Inclination... and surely there were some elemental jutsu he could learn... this was more then merely a push to make sure his body was more durable...there was meaning in this overcoming... overcoming of both his limits... and himself...

The sheer level of focus he was having demonstrate to keep this up was probably going to pay off as well...he suspected that his concentration might even be a little improved by this, even if ever so slightly. He wondered, though, just how much stronger he would be when he was finally satisfied. he was intent not to stop until he was either positive that he was ready, or he was completely and totally unable to press on any further. He knew for a fact that he was fighting with everything he had against the second option, intent to not surrender to fatigue not matter the cost. But then did that mean he would simply continue training...? would he really ever be satisfied UNTIL he collapsed? he wasn't really sure himself... all he knew was that he had just scratched the surface... and he was soon to reach another plane of competence... he wasn't even close to stopping just yet...

The sweat was soaking his brow now, the boy actually loosening his collar and taking off his shirt as his muscles continued to tense up and scream from the effort of maintaining this...state of evolution. But he had to endure... he had to outlast. He knew that he had it in him, he just had to keep on trying... he just had to push himself THAT much further. as the signs of fatigue and sweat covered his body, he didn't even notice that Takahashi had already left the Grove, laughing at the boy's tireless efforts...

But that was fine, he'd already gotten the new potential job from him, and for once it wasn't really technically anything illegal. It was just busting up a gambling parlor...as a village genin, he was really just doing his...civic duty.

Byakuran had at last made it to a new plateu, though it seemed that even in making it, his body was rebelling against him, the odds suddenly against him as he continued to try and push himself further. Press himself in his continuing charge against the wall that were how far his body was willing to go. He wasn't going to give up here, he wasn't going to surrender himself to this. He was going to press on and fight this supposed "limit" with everything that he had in him. This was not going to be a question of coming this far only to falter now. he was to battle destiny, fate, or whatever odds stood between he and his goal, he was going to overpower them through sheer force of will... through the might of pure tenacity...

He wasn't going to stop here! he wasn't going to let himself fail! He'd staked his will on this, a match for his very drive as a shinobi, and he was going to succeed no matter what it took.

Byakuran's body was positively attempting to abandon him in this pursuits, trying to shut him down and inform him that he could go no further for now, to rest and recuperate, to turn back and keep going again another day, but he refused this call with every fiber of his will. He was not going to go down so easily... he had started this training, goaded himself into doing it, and so long as he could continue then he would do so... there was no other alternative. And indeed, he didn't wish for one. He was going to press on until such a time as he mastered himself...and if that didn't happen then he would collapse. But this was his one chance to change the course of his life, to truly increase something about him that had seemed unchangeable...

Because if he could change the fact that he was frail, maybe he could change his destiny. If he could alter the fact that he was weak, maybe he could cast off the burdens that came with serving his clan. If he could succeed where he'd forseen only failure once...maybe he could someday manage to do the impossible. Yes... he would do the impossible, see the invisible... he would fight the powa- power, of those who stood against him... if he managed to succeed here... who knew what he could do next...? Who knew what he could achieve? But if he failed here what then? What would he have left? A shallow sense of pride? Was he no different from the rest of his family? No... he would not allow himself to become a mere product of posturing. He would...not....give...in!!

Byakuran wondered what his family would think if they could see him now, his training reaching such an intensity. Would they be surprised that the one they had cast away on a possible suicide mission had grown to be so dedicated? Would they be amazed that despite his foughtly whimsical ways he could push himself so far? He supposed he really had no way of knowing...because truth be told, he didn;t remember them very well.

Oh remembered their faces and names, and even Senkyo's rather numerous personalities loops, but as for his mother and father...nothing. Nothing of importance anyway. He didn't remember what they did for him while he was struggling with his second self, he didn't remember the looks on their faces as they sent him off to Kiri. He didn't even remember what they were like as people...and normally that was one thing that stuck with him long after other details faded away.

He remembered their voices, but what with his second self that was really just bound to happen, what with the intensity with which he could interpret sound. But at the same time those were mere...shadows, mere affectations of the people who had gave him life. The truth of them, what they were behind that, eluded him. lost long forgotten memories. he had, on occasion, entertained what they MIGHT be like, but in the end he couldn't really come up with a flattering image. They had after all, shipped away their second born son for political clout after all...well, true, he didn't really mind them for that, but it also occured to him that it wasn't a very pleasant thing for parents to do. Senkyo at least had always been kind, even if he had been infuriatingly talented while at the same time being an idiot. His parents were more just...there. If society itself hadn't put such a reserved spot away for such roles, stressing the importance of them and how they affected the course of one's life, Byakuran wondered if he would have remembered them at all.
