OOC: I am so very jealous. So what are we going to do, exactly, for the wedding-thing? There's no Vegas in Greece.

Marcus smiled. "Nor I," he confirmed, taking Terryn's hand easily. "But here we are. And so is our coach," he added, glancing back out of the window. He smiled, and he couldn't exactly mask his anxiousness.

((i would assume Marcus has connections))

Terryn glanced out the window, squeezing his hand as she saw the coach. "Right. So, so I suppose we should get going then." She looked up at him with a half smile, still full of nerves but in a good way.

OOC: Well, for the legal aspect, sure. But once they get to the Parthenon, I mean.

Marcus returned the expression. He was uncharacteristically flushed as well, though less so than Terryn. "Yes. Well. Let us go."

"Right." Terryn stood still, biting on her bottom lip as she stared at the coach. She wasn't scared, per se, but she was just nervous in regards to the whole thing.

The odor of fish was faint when the carriage stopped in front of a little notary shop. A sign in Greek had a little English translation at the bottom saying that it was officially recognized by the Kingdoms. "Here we are." The driver tentatively opened the door for them, and said something (also tentatively) to the two of them. "I think he says we should get out now."

"Oh..." Terryn was somewhat dazed during the whole ride and stepped out absentmindedly. She looked up at the shop sign, grabbing on to Marcus's hand.

The little man behind the counter babbled for some time. Marcus was hardly listening. Finally, the man thrust a paper at Marcus and looked at Terryn skeptically. "You consent?"

Terryn nodded, not sure how much English he understood. "Yes, I do."

The man gave a little grunt. "Her father?" he asked Marcus. "Oh, he's....very busy. He couldn't come to give his approval. But he signed. Here." He pointed to the wax ring. It looked very cheap and fake to Marcus, but the man took it, and he began to sign a series of forms. Finally, he took an enormous seal and stamped it. "Congratulation."

"Congratulations?" Terryn was rather confused. "So...that is it then?" She looked to Marcus. "That was simple..."

Marcus nodded, hardly daring to believe it. "I, er, got a ring for you, of course. This one's my mother's too," he added, fishing the ring out of his pocket. "And since you want nothing to do with the church...yes. I suppose that's it."

"Oh..." Terryn, despite her lack of zeal for society, still had a few girlish dreams. "What about the Parthenon?"

"We can go and visit, if you'd like," Marcus answered, sounding hopelessly bland. He gave the little Greek man a stiff bow. "Thank you for your services." He took the newly authenticated paper in one hand, Terryn in the other, and left the building, feeling dizzy.

The whole thing seemed rather unreal. It had yet to sink in that they were actually married, and that the paper Marcus was clutching was legal proof. "Do you think my father will be furious?" She wasn't quite sure what else to say, as she was still trying to make sense out of it all.

"For a day or so, perhaps." They were married, for God's sake. Marcus had yet to kiss her, but he didn't think he could. Not now. "We should celebrate," he told her hollowly. "Shall I go get a bottle of something to take to the Parthenon?"
