She grasped his hand gently "its okie...somtimes its best not to rember things..I never really had any family..I have no siblings,my mother died giving birth to me..My father was murdered when I was six..I raised myself" she smiled softly "Other than malik your the only real friend i've ever had.."

Yugi chose that time to come into the room, speaking as he walked in. "Gramps says to come home right now--" He was saying, but stopped when he looked around blankly, not seeing Atem. "Where'd he go?"
Ryou's blushed deeply, not wanting to tell Yugi what his yami had done to him. He lowered his gaze to the ground, squeezing Kira's hand a little bit tighter when he noticed that his body was almost getting heavier and lighter at the same time. It was a little hard for him to move it, but he seemed paler and felt light. He blinked in surprise, wondering what had happened.

"Oh..." Yugi frowned, wondering why Atem was ignoring him in their mind link. "Well... I hope he's still in this building, at least. " A slightly puzzled look on his face, he left the room again, in search of his yami.
Ryou felt himself falter, shuddering slightly at the feeling. "Kira..." He murmured, the explaination of what was happening dawning on him. "I think my body's going away..." He faintly remembered Bakura's far-off voice saying that since he had created the body with the Millennium Ring, he had to supply energy from the ring to keep it alive and working. Kira had taken away the ring, which meant that the body would disappear and his soul would be sent back to Bakura's body, which was the real one in their pair. He shuddered at the thought, and knew why Bakura had left so easily from Kira's place; he knew that Ryou wouldn't be able to sustain himself.

Yugi, who had only walked a short distance away, paused when he heard Kira's shout and went back into the room. "Hm?" He glanced towards Ryou, who amazingly seemed paler than usual, if it was possible for the white-haired boy. "What's wrong?"

"But the police taped it off..." Yugi started to protest, but noticed the look on Ryou's face. Instead he nodded, and started backing out of the room again. "I'll try and hurry," He said quickly, leaving the room at a fast pace, not allowed to run in a hospital.
Ryou turned towards Kira, rubbing his arm slightly. "Wonder how long the body will last..." He muttered, looking down at himself, knowing it'd be better to be in a body without wounds. At least not as many wounds as he had. "Even with the Millennium Ring, I don't know how to use it..."

Ryou nodded his head, and sat for a few minutes in silence, struggling to keep himself solid at the very least. It was extremely hard for him, having no source of power to draw from, and he felt his energy sapping away from him. He looked hopeful when the door opened, wishing that it was Yugi, but instead saw Khalid.
Khalid was still as blank as ever, and showed no sign of anything that happened last time he encountered the two. His eyes fell on Ryou, and he shook his head slightly. "Your friend won't be able to retrieve the Millennium Ring for you to keep the body." He informed them, blinking slowly. "But he'll be early enough to get it before Bakura does. And all I have to do is make sure your body is stable until then; otherwise when you get back to Bakura you'll be dead by tomorrow." He said this all smoothly, as though it didn't matter to him whether Ryou lived or died. "You were meant to die before, but not now. Not until you finish the rest of your life."

Khalid blinked, not affected by what Kira just said. "I offer the child help. Prehaps at another time we can handle the issue of the Millennium Eye; now isn't the correct moment." He turned back towards Ryou, one eyebrow arched in a silent question. His face relaxed into it's expressionless state when Ryou nodded slightly, a look of mixed anger and fear on his face. "Okay. But first..." He reached into the robes he was wearing and drew out the Millennium Key, holding it out slightly. "Allow me." He forced Ryou to lock gazes with him, and the boy nodded almost dumbly, sucked into a trance. Khalid stepped forward to unlock Ryou's mind, glad that this new 'trick' he picked up was working on the boy. It was better to have somebody blank and relaxed than somebody full of emotions and with their defenses up.

Khalid glanced briefly over towards Kira, breaking away from Ryou's gaze for only a moment. Looking back towards the boy, who had started to stir but was now relaxed again, he shook his head very slowly from side to side, not breaking Ryou's gaze again. "Just unlocking his mind; he's not to die yet. I had considered going in there and prehaps speaking with his inner self to try and rid him of any suicidal thoughts. Also to see what Bakura has changed in there and alter it if it's for the good of Ryou."
