ohay guise pokes' names revealed. And Isshu as Unova. It is a V. weird name but my friend loves etmology and came up with this: Casey They localized the meaning of the name Isshu. The name Isshu, "isshurui" according to Bulbapedia, means "one variety" or unity out of diversity. Isshu is the first official multiracial Pokemon region. So in English it's Unova, or derived from Latin "Unim Nova" meaning one new unity. And it's different in every language to adapt to the definition. In French it's Unys, and in German it's Einall, and in Spanish is Teselia, and in Italian it's Unima. I'm glad they decided to translate the meaning instead of keeping the exact Japanese name. It's appropriate since not only is New York an epicenter of the United States, but it's the location of the United Nations headquarters. Bravo, Pokemon Company. Um. Yeah. 8D; Also I didn't get where they were getting any of the pokes' names until I read all my friends' posts. .3.; Everyone's going to call it Isshu for a month or two after the game's been released.

Or, you could think of it like this: United States Ov America.
XD I lol'd when someone came up with that theory. And as for the Poke's names - Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott - I'm cool with them. I know Snivy is supposed to be a combo of snake and ivy, buy you could also think of it as a combo of snide and ivy, which suits it well.

Silph Co please tell me Tepig is the pig? Do you mean is Tepig the name of the pig, or does Tepig MEAN "the pig"? If it's the first one, then yes, if it's the second, then no. Tepig is a combo of the words "tepid" and "pig".
