((Mmm... I'm going to overhaul Matt's computer skills. He'd already comfortable using them, since he grew up in an electronic environment. Yes, all it takes is an encounter with Fate.))
Matt doubled over, unable to block a counterattack, since, of course, he had never been trained. The cabin boy just stayed there, on his knees, on the floor, racked with pain and having had all his breath knocked out of him.
Then some sort of an alarm went off, most likely due to the results of the poltergeist activities. A man was dead.
((I have no idea. But what she said, was, 'all able-bodied and willing warriors please come to the hangar to go down to Sentinel for battle' or something like that.))

Layla gave up on the fight, and started to walk away. She stopped temporarily, not bothering to turn around to face Kira. "I never hated you, Kira...I envied you, I still do..." Then she finally left, to where no one knew.
Kira hadn't tried to follow Layla, she knew it was for the best to let her go. 'Why Layla? Whats so special about me that invokes such feelings of envy in you...?' Kira closed her eyes, a white light started to wash over her, it's aura put off a feeling of safety and calmness, innocence. "I'm not worthy enough to be envied...I'm no different than you, Layla...you just chose a different path in life..."

Damien had momentarily gone back to Rosa's storage room to do something, and now he stood alone, Kira's soul box -lock released- in his hand. He let her go finally. 'Its time I moved on...things have changed over time, but nothing is ever the true ending...' Damien set down the empty box on the table, then left and headed back to the Hangar.
((*has been psychotically searching on iMeem and Playlist.com for this one song* Gah! They don't have it! gonk I've been listening to this one song on my iTunes on repeat while writing these posts with Kira, Layla and Damien, its called "darekano negaiga kanau koro" or something...dunno what the lyrics are, but the general sound just fits perfectly...its by Utada Hikaru...))

((GAH!!! gonk Power outage....we had to sit in complete darkness for 2 hours...NOT FUN xp
and the whole community was like that....we live out in the country, too, so it was uber dark...looked like a place you'd see in a horror movie! xd

Aerclayr shrugged when he was ignored. And it would be a pain to tote around the green dude's body all day, trying to find a ship.
So, Aerclayr did the only thing he could think of, that still allowed his revenge. He drew his sword, and plunged it violently into Marth's back. The alien never moved.

((Well thats not a very fair revenge...poor Marth whee ))
Kira still stood where she was, her eyes still closed. "...Why must people always choose revenge? ...Is it simply fear of moving on? Or is that people simply cannot move on because its impossible to them?" She asked Aerclayr from her distance, still calm as ever. Kira always had been a rather unique individual, she almost never panicked even in the worst of situations, its like she knew when she was fated to die, and she simply waited with no regrets until the very last minute.

Aerclayr turned, solemn, to regard Rosa with curiosity. He knew not that a real person's soul resided within.
"It wasn't a matter of revenge, not truly," he admitted. "It was a matter of duty. Fate, that I would destroy the brother of Iluclaara - Fate that I would be the righteous blade of justice."
Several thousand thoughts flashed through the mercenary's mind, now, and he pondered what he would do next. Yes, indeed, he pondered, but he might as well have been trying to figure out the meaning of life (42), for all the success he had at the attempt.

Pain... sufferings... death... these were the things that plagued Maggie - Iluclaara. These were the things that fed on her, that ate away at her, that consumed her from the inside out. These were the things that destroyed her.
"MARTH!" was the single syllable that Maggie cried out. Most people would have sat up in bed, sweating, panting, terrified of what they had just seen - or supposed they had seen.
Maggie had performed overkill, having jumped forward out of bed, flipping to land on her back on the floor at its foot. She felt a loss, a drawing on her energy... she felt both the beginning and the end of a presence. Her heart felt strangely swollen. Sore, from the rapid draining and filling of love to hate.
She was... divine.

Kira/Rosa glanced over at him now, her turquoise eyes only half-open, but they expressed that very same look of questioning...of wisdom that Kira herself used to wear proudly on her own face. "But is it truly fate? Or is just your interpretation on fate?" She asked, patient as ever for an answer. "I myself don't believe in 'fate'....because life is ever-changing, people shape their own destinies, they follow the paths that seem right at the time...but always look back in regret later on..." Kira looked onward to the direction that Layla had gone, she didn't even have to explain what she was thinking -it was already known.

Layla stood alone on the rooftop of the laboratory, watching as the cloudy sky started to clear up in certain areas, mainly around where Kira was. 'Why couldn't I be like you? You were born with perfection...naturally gifted with all that life had to offer -luck, intelligence, beauty, skill...and even love...' Layla lowered her head slightly, trying to hide her bitter tears behind her loose golden hair. '...And here I've struggled to follow in your footsteps...to be like you, Kira. But each time I took a step forward...I only became worse...meaner, unluckier, stubborn, and ugly...I'm merely a monster now...'
((this storyline (Kira/Layla) is definitely one of those Bitter-Sweet type stories, I've always wanted to try writing a side-story like this... whee ))

Aerclayr looked at Marth's corpse, but then quickly tore his gaze away, saddened. A sharp ache, dulled by time, revived by action, rose in his heart. Now that Marth was dead, his sorrow for 'her' was not gone, but now intensely magnified.
What had he accomplished in all this?
