The book that the creature was reading happened to be a hardback, and when Alucard went as close as he could get to it... the creature shut the book and smacked the vampire in the face with it. The book flew open, the creature going back to reading it with a non-chalant gesture. That made Spearhead laugh harder. Dag and Gabriel started laughing also. Even Mazz was howling with laughter.
The creature was mellowed out through the entire scene.

The book to the face sent Alucard off balance and flying. He landed face down on the floor. He growled out of displeasure as everyone started laughing at him, well in Spearheads case, continued to laugh at him. Alucard got up and brushed himself off only to glare at his comrades with disdain.

D didnt find this funny in the least, infact the outburst of more laughter made him turn his head and stop in his tracks. "You four are idiots i cant believe you find that funny." D stated having never found someone getting harmed funny.
D walked back over to his father and got behind him. "Lets go. If he doesnt want to fight then dont torture yourself over it." D said sternly as he started pushing Alucard towards the way they had come in. "Well find someone else to battle if your so Hell bent on it."

Alucard dug in his heels and wouldnt be budged any further by his son. He turned and shoved the boy aside only to go and stand before Death again. "Fine you dont want to fight." Alucard said as he pointed a finger to the creature. "Then i wont waste another moment on you. You coward." Alucard growled before turning his back on the beast.
"Freaking bookworm. Fine he can sit there and read for all eternity! I dont care! Why the hell would i care!" Alucard said as he threw up his hands and continued to walk away. His pride was hurt more than his body.

"I'm sorry, I didn't tell ye who this was. When I was still king, this was the librarian that guarded the library! I'm surprised ye be still here."
Spearhead approached the floating creature, who, after recognizing the voice through Alucard's ghastly womanly shrieks (in the monster's case), put the book down and shifted its attention to the bird-demon, "Hello, my liege. Good to see you're still around."
"Thought me dead?"
"After the invasion, we all did."
Spearhead thought for a moment, then shrugged, "Me apologies fer me comrades. We're here to obliterate the master of this castle."
The creature nodded in understanding, "About that. The 'master' says that I have to stop you here and now... to prevent you from getting some holy sword. I do ask for your forgiveness ahead of time."
"Ya already have it."
"Thank you, sire."
The room warped and changed, until they were in a room that was filled with bones and skeletons from every creature imaginable. Souls drifted freely in a lazy, hypnotic circle above their heads. A massive scythe appeared in the creature's claw, and he drifted in place, ready to strike.
"No holding back."

'WHAT!?" Alucard shrieked and ran after Spearhead. All he had to do was talk to Death boy and then the battle started! Oh he was going to kill the bird brain. But just as his hands were going to close around Spearheads neck the environment changed and the souls drifted in. Alucard stopped in his tracks and just watched as the creature prepared to fight.
"Ooookay... Got any little tidbits on Mr. Death Librarian do you?" Alucard asked Spearhead with a nervous grin.

D sighed lightly and unsheathed his sword, he rejoined the others and waited for some kind of instruction or attack. Here they went again...

"Yeah. Don't get hit by his scythe. Sure, ye can survive the physical impact, but spiritually, ye'll never be the same again. If ye want to keep who ye are now, avoid the blade."
That avatar called on the souls that floated in the room to attack them, the souls themselves taking on hideous forms with massive claws. They were interrupted by a huge beak-like appendage that shaped itself where Mazz's left arm was. The souls were blasted back outward from the beak as dark purple fire, torching the Avatar of Death and making it back off.
"Reflect his attacks right back at him!"

"Sounds good." Alucard said before he started to transform, he took on the form he had before, the Hellhound, but this time he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

Ds blade lit up with sunlight, he had to reflect the attacks back at him. He think he had a few ideas on how to do that. But Mazz had taken the floor by torching the Avatar of Death and the souls sent at them. What attack was next, D could only wonder.

Spears made of bone hailed from the ceiling, followed by a spinning attack from the creature's scythe. Dag shielded himself with his wings, literally. His wings hardened above him to the point where they resembled shiny, black, wing-shaped shields stuck together. The bone spears bounced off of the wing shields, and Spearhead redirected the shards back at Death's Avatar by hitting them like baseballs with his trident. They drove the spinning weapon off course, where Gabriel redirected it back at the creature with his own scythe. The scythe itself made a huge rip in the robe, earning an unearthly scream from the ghostly boss.
"I think we just found his weakpoint."

'Music to my ears!' Alucard said as he joined in on the fun. The next attack would be reflected back by himself and D who would send a wave of sunlight at their attacker, knocking back the creature and anything he threw at them.
"Theres got to be a way to get that scythe from him and rip him to shred with it." Alucard said before lunging into action. He was going to grab the blade himself and use it against the creature.

D jumped in after his father, he was more looking out for his fathers own stupidity rather than actually attack Death.

Mazz moved Alucard out of the way of an upper slash attack from the scythe. It was just in the nick of time too. Gabriel had been engaged in a duel against that Avatar. Scythes clashed, sparks flew. Both were good; it was like a deadly dance, mezmerizing to watch. However, Death's Avatar pulled a dirty trick, and while Gabriel was distracted, swung the scythe in a diagonal arc.
Gabriel collapsed, blood pooling under him.
The piles of skeletons rose afterward, and attacked the group in great numbers.

D and Alucard had watched in awe as Gabriel and the Avatar went at it. When the male was sliced through, and the skeletons rose to attack Alucard raced to the males side. Keeping him under his massive dog form Alucard kept the skeletons away from the incapacitated Gabriel.
"Dammit cant we do anything for him?" Alucard growled, before opening his muzzle wide. A stream of fire issued forth and smothered several of the attacking skeletons.

D fought his way through the attacking skeletons, cutting through them like butter with his blade. Arcs of sunlight were sent out as the waves still kept coming at them. Alucard in his Hellhound form kept the skeletons at bay with fire spewing from his muzzle.
"We have to get that weapon away from him. But attacking him one by one wont work." D said as he gave a sympathetic look to Gabriel. "Anyone want to join me?" D asked as he fought.

Mazz, still in Armaggeddon's form, shapeshifted his right arm into a huge sledgehammer, smashing the skeletons like crushing chicken bones with a steamroller. The beak-arm swung around, and unleashed another purple fire blast at the Avatar, making it quickly move away.
A solar blast from Sunbreaker made it shriek and writhe in agony, "Grab the weapon while it's distracted!"

D sheathed his sword with lighting speed, as he raced towards the writhing demon in pain. His arm shot out and reached for the Scythe's handle only to have his fingers wrap around the weapon and secured it.

"Now destroy him." Alucard barked out.

Whirling the Scythe around D cut through the writhing Demon in a beautiful diagonal arc.

The Avatar was cut completely in half, and dissolved into nothing, the bones shattering and souls vanishing. That scythe that D used started glowing a dull blue, then the blue glow vanished as quick as it came. It spoke to D in a really spooky voice....
"Helloooooo...."

D breathed a sigh of relief when the Avatar was destroyed. His momentary reprieve was short lived when he heard an eerie voice. Ds blue eyes looked all around the area for a new foe. Maybe their current one wasnt truely defeated. But he had dissolved into nothing! Where could the voice be coming from.
"Ahem..." The parasite coughed as it drew attention to itself and the Scythe in Ds hands. "It was him not me."
"What? What are you talking about?" D questioned.
