Hugin the Raven

PostPosted: Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:21 pm

A few inches meant quite a lot, but when momentum was halted, one would have to get the proper momentum back again. The leverage on Hugin's left elbow was properly broken, but the joint was still in use. It just hurt. Didn't matter, though. Elbow was still incoming, and fast. Only one way out now.

Hugin pushed off of that left forearm with his right hand, and rolled. The arm would be forced inward slightly, but just enough for the attack to miss.

Get back up, get into fighting stance, and get going. They were a few feet apart anyway, so it wouldn't take much close the distance. Hugin advanced forward again...
PostPosted: Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:31 pm

After they separated the soldier would push off the ground with his forearm to get his hand upon the ground underneath him. His legs would come up under him again, but he would remain in that low, crouched stance with the left arm forwards and the right held back at his side.

If Hugin was advancing at this point, the soldier would take a shuffle-step forwards and thrust the lead hand in a straight punch for the solar plexus. If he was not, the soldier would begin to slowly circle at a distance of roughly four feet.

Hugin the Raven

PostPosted: Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:42 pm

Hugin's left forearm moved along his midsection, deflecting the incoming punch to the inside. As the defense was executed, along with a shuffle step to his right, Hugin's left hand would grab onto the soldier's left forearm, and he would feel his balance giving way as the outside of his upper thigh was rammed into with a side heel kick from Hugin's left leg.

If successful, #387 would be in a world of hurt, because Hugin would then twist the arm slightly (forcing the joint to point upwards), then ram his right forearm down onto the captive arm, just above the elbow, while the left hand forcefully jerked the forearm upwards.

The result, if all this went through, would be a cleanly broken arm at the elbow. Sickening snap and all.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 22, 2007 12:08 am

The opponent stepped to the side and made a grab for the soldier's left arm. While incapacitating his 'good arm' was a tactically sound decision, showing the enemy your back was not.

When Hugin turned to kick at the inside of #387's forward leg (the left) with his own left the soldier shifted all of his weight onto the back leg. When the kick came the soldier's left leg slid harmlessly to the side several inches because it was no longer supporting any weight and would not be resisting the impact of the kick. The weight, instead, was on the right leg... or it had been. By the time the kick completed #387 would have taken a bounding step forwards with his right and the left leg would pivot to remain in line. In a moment he would have two feet on the ground again, solidly planted, with only minor damage to the left leg from the kick.

This also meant that with the angle Hugin had turned at to initiate the kick, the soldier was close enough to grapple from behind.

His right arm pulled in around the chest and the left pressed as tight to Hugin's body as it would be allowed. With the shift in position the soldier's arm was no longer straight - and while it could still be twisted if Hugin applied enough force, the elbow would remain down and pressed as close to the Raven's body as possible; likely near the left hip.

Hugin the Raven

PostPosted: Thu Feb 22, 2007 12:57 am

Oh... hell... no.

That just wouldn't do. But there were still things that could be done. Example- Hugin could effectively turn that right side kick that had just been completed into a back heel kick, which he did by raising the leg again for a brief moment, without lowering it. The target was simple- the soldier's shin bone, three inches below the knee. It happened just as the lock was set in and before the throw, which lessened the chances of reprisal.

The soldier might not have been afraid of pain, but after a direct attack on a nerve, he'd still feel it. Not to mention it would make a fine distraction for what would happen next. Success would provide a proper opening for the left back elbow into the soldier's ribcage, which would either break a few at this range or make them protest a bit.

And the finale would be equally simple. The hands would reach behind #387's head and would pull it forward, perfectly aligning the jaw with Hugin's shoulder. At the same time this happened, the Raven would drop to one knee, the arms would bring the head downwards, and boom! It'd hurt quite a bit as the jaw impacted with the left shoulder. Hell, it might even break his jaw...

Tomorrow

Tomorrow smirked down at the boy as he charged forward. "Thats it boy - show me what you got!"

John had turned to face Sutiiven as he'd skidded away, allowing him time to regain his senses and get to his feet. He spread his legs as Sutii began to charge, his arms coming up as he approached.

His right arm batted the leg to the side as it came towards him, the back of his palm smacking against Sutiiven's ankle with a great amount of force for such a slight gesture. As the leg traveled out, throwing Sutiiven's balance out with it, John's other hand reached out to grab Suti's head, squashing his face in it's gigantic grasp.

"It's nothing personal, boy." John said suddenly, simply holding Sutii there, his giant fingers wrapped around his face. "I just wanted to test myself against someone. You were appropriate, apparently."

[11] Now, Sutii (present or otherwise) wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed sometimes, but he knew better than to just let himself get pushed around. As his leg was thrown by the man's "gesture," he quickly came around with his other foot, sending the heel straight at his opponents face. The momentum of the throw helped the lithe fighter more than it hurt him - the thrown foot had hit the ground as the other one was going full force at the mans face, this keeping the fighter balanced.

And if the guy thought this was impressive, the present Sutii was just getting warmed up.

John blinked in mild shock as the foot swiped across his face, his head snapping to the side in line with the kick. The boy has talent... John thought as he took a step back, lifting his arms up once more, his hands open. It would take a few more kicks like that to even faze John, and it was evident.

"Good shot! Again!" John roared with delight.

Unsure of why he was suddenly better at unarmed combat (though not truely caring), the present Sutii continued his fluid attacking by coming in with a double open palm strike to the man's groin and face. His body burned with a newfound passion, as if something had rekindled his fighting spirit from afar.

This fight was far from over, it seemed.

Now, John was a large man. So large, in fact, normal doors were a challenge. He had to lean forward and turn sideways to enter most rooms.

So if Sutiiven was going for a simultaneous palm-strike using both hands, aiming for John's groin and head, his arms would be outstretched like this:

>

And right in the middle of that, John's fist flew, smashing into Sutiiven's chest with enough force to make him skid back a few feet. John's reach was longer then Sutiiven's, being the bigger man - he would hit him before his arms even reached John's face or groin.

If Sutii was doing a double-palm strike twice, his arms would be like this:

=

Using both hands to make a single forceful blow. This would come into John's face, Sutii's hands slamming into his mouth - but then he would have to retract his arms, gather some strength, and make the second blow for the groin - which John would counter by reaching out and catching the boy's hands as they came forward.

The massive Tribal would take a step back and, gripping Sutii's hands and twisting his hips, begin to spin, yanking the smaller man off his feet. Spinning and spinning, around and around, faster and faster, before suddenly releasing him like an Olympic hammer thrower, and Sutii the hammer. Sutiiven would fly away fast, the end result being a hard landing.

((At least, thats how i interprate it. If Sutii goes for the groin first, expect the same results.))

(( Arright, now where was I... oh, right - ))

Hugin the Raven
The soldier might not have been afraid of pain, but after a direct attack on a nerve, he'd still feel it.

This was one thing that people never really expected. People are often resistant to pain because of a high tolerance developed over years of painful struggles and countless injuries; they aren't afraid of it but they still feel it.

UGH #387 did not feel it. Intensive mental reconditioning had removed the concept of pain entirely. The soldier did not feel any pain, he did not react in any way to pain, nor would he allow himself to be distracted by pain, because pain itself was a foreign concept. The agency had not removed his ability to experience it, they had removed his ability to comprehend it.

And a soldier does not have to understand things in order to follow through with his orders.

Hugin the Raven
Success would provide a proper opening for the left back elbow into the soldier's ribcage, which would either break a few at this range or make them protest a bit.

With the soldier grappling Hugin around the midsection, success would ensure that he had performed a completely ineffective attack; bringing his arm down for a strike would be blocked by the arms wrapped around his own torso, preventing the striking area of the elbow from coming within several inches of its intended target.

Hugin's mighty tricep slam did no damage to #387's left upper arm, though.

Hugin the Raven
And the finale would be equally simple. The hands would reach behind #387's head and -

Kicking out one leg of someone who's about to suplex you is not an effective method of staying standing. Hugin would be going over either way. Reaching back wouldn't help him for two reasons: the first being that with only one hand available to attempt it he wouldn't have the strength to control like he wanted, the second being that with the low stance that such a move was preformed in, he'd only be able to get the soldier's head against his scapula... and even then only if he were actually capable of bending his arm that way.

Hugin had kicked out the left leg with his heel, but the right one remained, and the soldier was firmly established in a controlling posture. One of two things would happen next:

1. The loss of the left leg would cause the integrity of the position to compromise; causing both to fall backwards and to the left. However, the attempted suplex would still be performed with one leg, throwing the two into a sideways spin as they headed for the ground.

2. The loss of the left leg would cause the integrity of the position to compromise; causing both to fall backwards and to the left. However, the suplex would still be performed with one leg; and the left would find footing further back a moment later. The result would be a quarter turn to the left during the motion, and though the velocity wouldn't be the same as the traditional up-down motion, the fact that the change in position had put a degree of spin onto the motion would cause Hugin's head to be slammed into the ground and then forced violently to the left as the rest of his body weight came in behind and folded his neck like a McDonald's straw.

[15] As the attack was in the > formation, the boy never stood a chance of hitting his opponent with that attack. He took the hit, skidding back a good distance away.

"D... dammit..." he grunted as he regained his composure.

He cringed as his body in the Void synched up with the one in the material realm again. With a shock of inspiration, the present Sutii realised that he knew an ability that he had not known when he entered this fight. The two were becoming one.

The Void was indeed a strange place.

Then, when he had reached the peak, the glow glew extremely bright, bleaching out the fighter for a second, then returned to a light glow.

"Maybe I'm not the real one... but I wont lose to you!!"

He then rushed in towards his opponent, pushed off the ground, and came in with a high reverse roundhouse kick to the opponents head.

((Hey cheif, you're doing great. dont feel ashamed for making mistakes, i know that you dont learn unless you make them. I've enjoyed this - its rare i fight someone i haven't met before!))

Sutiiven
He stood up straight and focused his energy intently, his body beginning to glow ever so faintly. As the power increased, the glowing grew brighter and faded in and out. Then, when he had reached the peak, the glow glew extremely bright, bleaching out the fighter for a second, then returning to a light glow.

John would never give him the chance to reach his full, glowing potential. He'd fought enough metahumans to know that this kind of action would not make his job any easier.

The strike he'd given Sutiiven had forced the smaller man back several feet, feet that John covered with several quick strides as Sutii regained his composure. Grabbing the boy by his scalded, torn, bloodstained jerkin, he lifted him off the ground by one hand, letting his legs dangle...

...As his fist slammed into his stomach.

The force of the blow was powerful enough to blast the wind out of Sutiiven's lungs. The second blow, equally powerful, would cause his sternum to crack.

Then John pulled his fist far back, a large yell coming from his mouith as his fist began to spark and skit with electrical energy -

- Before unleashing it into Sutiiven's chest once more, letting go of the jerkin at the same time.

The result would be catastrophic. The energy John unleashed into Sutiiven's chest would blast straight through his chest, shocking and powerful, as if he'd been struck by lightening. The blow would launch him far into the air, sending him flying into the distance, to land hard, skidding like he'd been shot from a cannon, his body tumbling and twisting as it flew across the ground...before coming to a sliding rest.

John continued to chew his coin...and set off after the boy, leaping into the air.

I guess its sometimes best to just give up with it and try something else. If anything, thats what I've learnt from this fight. Also, you rarely fight those you haven't before? Wow, I feel honored. I hope that this isnt our only fight though, it's been fun for me as well - mistakes and all.))

[7] For the first time in... ever, someone had been smart enough to attack Sutiiven mid-charge. The hit hurled him a good distance away, slamming him into the ground. His energy returned to him as it was not being used to power his Overdrive ability, but that ment little. He was still battered, bruised, and burnt.

When hit the ground, he felt a weird sensation again.

Quote:
Final Synch Up: Due to the powers of the Void, the false Sutiiven summoned the true Sutiiven so that the two may become one, thus restoring the natural balance of the world.

He suddenly shouted out in pain, then stopped.

"What the...?"

He glanced down and looked at his burns and pains. Where had they come from?

A split second later, the memories placed themselves into the right spots in his brain. Appparently some doppleganger had been initiated into a fight, and due to the strange physics of the place, he had been brought here.

With a shrug, the one and only Sutiiven glanced at his incoming opponent, and jumped up in attempt to meet him in the air. When in range, he twisted his body an came around with a powerful kick to the mans head, heel first.

((Heh, if it's one thing i know, it's not to mess with the space/time continuum...or however you spell it.))

John hurtled through the air at a fair rate of knots, his leap arching to have him falling towards his opponant...

...Who leapt up after him.

The boy was a stubborn one, that was for sure. Even after all the damage John had put on him, he still came. A well of pride filled John as they began to bear down on one another - this type of courage was rare in the world.

It would not save him, however.

Falling fast towards the boy as he flew upwards, John pulled his head back - before spitting his last coin out at him, flinging his head forward to give it more push. The chewed coin would slash through the air almost like a bullet, bearing down on the boy to take him somewhere in the chest.

Even if the boy somehow saw it coming and dodged the coin or simply took the shot, there was another problem - he had leapt up to kick at a 600lb Tribal falling fast towards the earth. It would be like a fly trying to ram into a falling brick to stop it falling - like the brick, John would squash the boy, slamming into him and smashing them both into the ground with extreme force, a large dust cloud pluming up from the crater that would come from the resounding boom.

John would pull himself up from the dirt and shake it from his hair, leaving one hand on Sutiiven's chest to stop him from getting up - this fight was over.

"You have two choices, son..." Said the giant to the boy, holding him down with his hand. "We continue fighting and i kill you, or you give up. Either way, we'll both return to the real world, our wounds healed but our memories intact - the difference is whether you learn from this or not."

He lifted his fist, cocked and ready to fly. The other hand pressed down on Sutiiven's injured body - there was no escape. His blue eyes were fixed on the boy's - there was no hate in them, nothing but a simple gaze as he waited for him to choose his judgement.

Sutiiven smirked cockily.

"I fear not death."

And as he finished his spin he threw a kick to the mans chest.

The kick was not for damage. He used it to push himself off of the mans body, and twords the ground rapidly. Landing in a grinding halt, he rapidly jumped out of the way of the man as he crashed into the ground. The boy stood diligently, beaten and bruised. But he didnt look like he was going in for an attack.

"I do, however, know when I am in a no win situation. I shall take your offer, if it's still an option." A cocky twinkle shone in his eye, though he remained in his beaten situation.
