Stewart could of sworn that he heard someone say his name. As he looked around the room he noticed that there were two others, the bat girl from before and a new person he hadn't met... God, he hoped then hadn't noticed his horns. He tried to concentrate more on his dinner and less on the others, but the more he looked at the meat on his plate the worse he felt... Could anything else go wrong today? He thought to himself trying not to notice the shock on the other man't face

Hargun turned her head when Ambrose said 'father', and looked around. Apparently something happened. HOLY COW. Is that... the guy that thought we were demons? He changed! she thought and glanced at Ambrose for a second.

"You know him well?" she whispered. Her previous encounters with the priest were.. pretty interesting, she was suprised if Ambrose had made aqquaintance with him.

Ambrose shook his head, swallowing another bite of food. Speaking, keeping his voice to a whisper. "I... no - I Had only seen him in passing, really. I think you actually managed to sidetrack him away from me the one time I saw him. But.... I didn't know he had changed..."

He cleared his throat into his fist, realizing how bad it probably sound to be whispering behind his back.

Speaking up, he looked over to the figure at the table. "Ah... Father...? There is no need to sit by yourself... " He gestured to one of the seats besides them.

Stewart jumped a little when he heard his name called out, he turned around and looked at the man talking to him. Stewart's eyes were red and puffy, he'd been crying again earlier. After pausing to collect his thoughts he walked over and took a seat near to them. With a small smile he said "Thanks..."

Hargun nodded at the father. She was worried he might freak but.. he looked too sad to at the moment.

"You okay?" she asked as sweetly as she could. Of course hes not okay.. he just experienced a change. Its worth a try asking though.. she debated with herself.

I wonder how long ago he changed.... Ambrose wondered to himself. He certainly seemed down - but there were always reasons to be sad on this Island.

And Ambrose had promised himself that he would NOT let anything ruin his good cheer today. Yesterday had been an uninterruptedly good day - and he was going to try to carry himself on the 'afterglow'.

Ambrose scooted his tray over to make room, putting another bite of the ham into his mouth while eying the father with concern.

"I... don't believe we've been formally introduced." He spoke quietly after swallowing his bite. "But I've seen you in passing before. I wasn't sure at the time how you would take my... visage... but my name's Ambrose."

Before the change Stewart would of been horrified at the way Ambrose looked, but now he only reminded Stewart of what he would look like in the future. "I'm Father Young... Well I was Father Young, I'm not so sure who I really am anymore" He said with a sad smile and a small shrug. "I'd also like to say I'm sorry if I offended any of you with my behaivor when I first came to the island, I was to say it nicely out of control"

"Well Father Stewart, Im Hargun." she said and sat back in her chair a bit. "No no... its completely understandable, right Ambrose? Everyone was fooled here with some lie by Moreau and well.. we're a tad used to it by now." she said with a sigh.

"Im gonna go get another plate of food.. Im still a little hungry.. Ill make sure the plate is nice and sparkly clean though." she said with a angry frown, then got up and went to the lunchline.

Ambrose just shook his head at the priest's apologies. "I agree, Hargun. Besides it... is only to have been expected from a man of the cloth to view the... strangeness of the Island as something stemming from the realm of religion as opposed to science... Although I do not see why ..." Ambrose hesitated after glancing at the man's horns again "even your changes should cause you to question who you are and what apparently was so profoundly meaningful to you that you chose it as your profession."

Ambrose took another bite of his food, chewing thoughtfully and swallowing before continuing. "Besides... I'm not sure if this will help or hurt... but based on some of the less than favorable actions of the medical staff... your animal selection might very well have been of malicious human intervention... nothing divine or ... infernal... about it." Ambrose spoke, hazarding a guess as to what had shaken the man's convictions so.

"No animal is innately good or evil in my opinion, despite what human labels or propeganda has been associated with them." A frown as he glanced down at his fur and claws, reminded of many peoples' opinions on wolves.

"Forgive me if I speak out of my place, but even though I have never been the best of Christians... the people here could probably use your guidance, father. It has been a very trying time for us all."

"Human or of devine doing, I have sinned and now I'm being punished for it. I feel like I am no longer worthy of the title Father. And the good people of this island shouldn't look up to me, I am nothing more than a out casted priest sent to this island to die. Someone said to me earlier that I may be turning into a goat. That was tthe worst news I have heard in such a long time. Some animals may be born innocent, but there is no animal who works with Satan quite like the goat." He said staring off into space, as if he was trying to find something lost "I'm sorry, I'm probably ruining your day with my rambleings. I really need to go be alone for a while, good bye." He finshed this by standing up and heading back to his duplex"

Hargun had returned to the table just as Father was leaving, sighing as she sat down. "I could hear you guys from over there.. is he gonna be okay?" she asked then started eating.

After a few bites she spoke again. "Im not at all religious. Did he say the goat was satanic? Cause.. judging by his eyes thats what hes bound to be changing into. And considering the Moreau factor, it only makes sense." she said with a growl.

Ambrose watched the Father go, feeling rather deflated. The poor guy. Ambrose's disgust for Moreau only grew and writed as he saw not just hte physical and emotional trauma that the priest was going through, but the spiritual as well.

"I... think I remember something about goats supposedly being evil, but to be honest all of that is rather foggy to me. And the eyes you say? I thought his looked strange with his pupils, but I couldn't place them." Ambrose sighed. The man had it rough.... he just hoped for his sake that his faith would be able to come back and be an anchor for the man to pull him through.

"I Hope he'll be alright, though." Ambrose gave Hargun a small smile.

Hargun nodded smiling back.

"He does need the time alone. Eventually he'll make good friends with other islanders too. Thats the biggest thing any of us needs here." she said and forked the last bit of her food up in her mouth. She didnt have very much so she finished it pretty quickly and pushed the plate to the side.

"Ah.. well. One of these days we'll get Moreau... and until then I guess Ill have to keep trying to bug him through the cameras. If we could find where one specifically is, thatd be pretty great."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2005 10:57 pm

Ambrose nodded. "You're right about the friends thing, though, Hargun. That really is the lifeblood here keeping us sane. At least most of us. Having other people who know what we're going through, who are nice people, and who we can talk to about our problems.

He patted her on the webbed hand as he slid his own now-empty tray away. "things can't always be bad. I've been trying to enjoy the... day to day things. It helps, and helps keep your mind of some of the bigger things at the very least." He gave her a small smile.

"Yea.. Ive been doing that too. Sit around, maybe walk in the sun, still wearing sunglasses though of course, but going to the entertainment room. I'm pretty much living out what Id do on any weekend." she asid and grinned.

"Although, theres the occasional dissapointing days when a friend has been changed, or something happened to them with a friend. Speaking of happenings, you havent heard from Joliette lately, have you? Theres no doubt Sabin might have tried something.. like Moreau did with my plates."
