“Drink some tea at least or you’re just going to be so hungry you’re sick.” And who knew better on such subjects than him. Had to hold back the frown that came up as she tried to include Nadai in what should be father-son bonding like activities…he personally wanted to foster no more closeness in those two than was present. “Sometimes his no’s are the worst thing I can ever hear. And I can fish and watch them at the same time…Nadai is here to work, not to play.”

“Seems he’s old enough to know some of the older ways of things, that kind of behavior doesn’t surprise me.” Shrugging lightly though he didn’t like the though of Zahara crying at all…and then there was a subject that she was part of. He’d admit that he did feel something for Zahara, maybe a crush or just close friendship or something but if she did give him a chance he wouldn’t be fool enough to pass that up. Not that you ever told her son that though, “Suppose women just don’t go for the racing hack with little present and future at the moment kind of elf.”

"When did training Zykariel in horse racing become part of his job description? That's hardly helping you with your business..." He couldn't go directly after Nadai personally so he'd do it in a round about way that actually would make sense...even to her. Personally he wanted to ask why didn't he just go home then but it seemed Zahara could never turn him away without feeding him. And for Sevilin that meant something...it was more or less how she started with himself. Raise of an eyebrow. "Why do I need to get to know him? He works for you."

So what? Zahara just had a thing for older guys or was there something old world Llothian to all of this? Questions indeed but he knew what ones to ask and what ones not to ask. "Of course you're not like that. You're an accomplished racer and you're smart, and I can tell you have other talent." Though he did smirk a little, "Yeah they did...they enjoyed basking in my popularity I think."

Apparently he was going to lose this battle on what Nadai's job was but at the same time was going to win the one on getting to know him. "Thought that him and I should get along and be friends and what not?" Tilting his head at her before shaking it lightly. "I have all that I need, I don't need to add in more people who will be gone soon enough to get in on my inner circle. You've never cared before if I got along with anyone else..." Which did make his mind wander...how come everytime something went right in his life, another thing had to come along and screw it up.

"Well, I can seee you have potential if anything so I'm sure you'll find out sooner or later." A look over to Zahara and Sevilin who still seemed to be talking before a look back to Zykariel. Shaking his head he gave a chuckle though it wasn't a good one. "I don't have any...that's why I am where I am right now. Trying to find one in myself as well so I won't be in a rut anymore. And I hardly consider thievery and such a talent these days."

Nope wasn't going to win and dare he say that her defending Nadai as she was just made him feel worse. Next thing he knew the man was going to be all but living in their house...though it seemed that way already really. A surrendering sigh from him and he gave her a nod to it all. Even if he wasn't going to. "Might as well, you know how hungry they can get." Thusly heading over to the other two males for the moment.

"Of course it's hard. Finding such things always is. But if you kinda just take it easy but not forget to look it will come to you I'm sure." Chuckling lightly at the boy's disbelief, perhaps to hide his own feelings about such things as well. "Your mom is right about that, I'm still just trying to find said hidden talent. Who knows, I may be the nexy great pyromancer or something." Another shrug, "That's what I get for only exploring one option of my life when I was younger." A blink and a look to Sevilin as he entered their space.

A glance back to Nadai but his attention turned entirely to Zykariel. "I'm taking your brother fishing. Do you want to come too? Staying long enough to get a good amount for dinner and what not."

"Yeah we're done for the day. Too much of it all at once and your knees and ankles are going to be hurting more than usual from all of this. Destyny deserves her rest and such. Let her play around a bit...I'm sure she hasn't tormented Jin nearly enough for her liking."

Frankly he was surprised that his son so quickly decided that he did want to go instead of stay and play with horses and Nadai. But he would admit that it was better than the boy telling him no...he just hoped that it wouldn't be filled with awkward silence. "Well...get yourself all ungeared from that and I'll get the poles and your brother."

As per usual he told his wife to take it easy though he doubted she would listen too much to him and merely took Kel, waiting for Zykariel with poles in one hand and holding Kel in the other. "As your mother said, better pick up our step if we want to get back before all the real nasty things come out." Thusly heading down to the river with his two sons, setting up Kel a little pole to catch minnows with and the like and letting Zykariel tend to his own. "You're enjoying your riding lessons then?"

Cleaning up after Zykariel and making sure Jin and Destyny was going to be okay as he left them alone, he wandered to the porch. Didnt' like just walking into the place but Zahara had told him not to worry..and well had to check things. Letting himself in he wandered to the kitchen to get something to drink and wash his hands before kind of just stupidly standing there...well when she wasn't in the kitchen he had no clue where she was. "Zahara?"

Yup, the boy was quite excited about his new...playmate...of sorts. Didn't sit well with Sevilin but why mention it and perhaps make the boy hate him any more than he already did. "Well...I'm sure with all the practicing you've been doing that you will." Turning a look to Kel, keeping an eye on him as he halfheartedly fished as well.

Taking a moment to rummage through things he got two glasses and the bottle of wine, filling them both halfway and then putting the bottle back before he wandered to where Zahara was, handing her a glass. "Shouldn't you not be drinking alcohol?"

A blink at his son's barb back....what was that about? He'd thought the boy would take that positively...after all he was trying to be okay with what Zykariel was doing but now the boy didn't even want that. "And if you didn't want to come with me on this outing, you could have just said so." Yes it was a barb back but obviously if the boy was going to talk like that, he didn't want to be here and he'd rather be back training with Nadai. "Why do you think I would want you to lose?" First Nadai was wrecking havoc in his home and now he was turning his son ever further against him. A slightly frustrating sigh as he brushed a hand through hsi now short hair. The end of his pole tugged as a fish played with it but he didn't seem to care at the moment.

"Well I suppose if that's how you're going to do it then I've no reason to tell anyone anything. You're the healer after all you know what's best." Sitting down where she pointed and sipping at his own wine, merely having a glass to indulge because free alcohol was hard to come by. And he had a bar tab to pay soon too. "Yeah, I'm good with everything so far. I like working, gives me something to do and Jin's enjoying getting to be around other horses too."
